What are we doing wrong with Rich Snippets?
-
So, a client webstore has rich snippets on all products, and it seems they are working fine, and are showing up, the only problem is, that the price for an article is not showing up.
The part of the code, that shows the price is this:
Redna cena:
29,99 €Is the problem that we have the itemprop="price" in a meta tag? I've read around the internet that if you have a lot of meta, this can be a problem.... Can we change it into:
Redna cena:
Would this work, or is there another thing that we can try? The URL for this article is http://www.bigbang.si/igre/sleeping-dogs-le-x360-498998
-
This sounds as a reasonable answer, all the previous things mentioned here have been changed with no positive results.
We will change this and see what happens.
Thanks!
-
A bit late here.
But How I understand it, price can not be a meta, it must be showing to the user, like it is in the schema.org page
itemprop="price">$55.00
http://schema.org/Product -
I will take a while to get the change, and to see the results, but Ill get back to you, thanks!
-
True, I put the closing div in the wrong way. I updated it correctly above now. Drop me a line how it turned out and whether this solved it! cheers
-
Not sure, of course we can change that (probably), we will try it, thanks for the idea.
-
Weird, I was sure I have answered this....
So, yes, I've tested it in the testing tool, and both of the versions, the one that we have on the website, and the one that you suggested, show the results in the same way.
And, not sure if I'm right, but the itemscope div isn't closed at all,
just opens a new one.
Any other ideas, or do I see something in a wrong way with your answer Philipp?
-
Well, the problem here is, that if I put the original HTML into the testing tool, I do see the price show up. And it shows up in the same way if I change it, as you proposed PhilippB.
So the testing tool does not show any difference, as far as I see it, and if I add the URL into the testing tool, it shows the price in the same way...
-
actually, when putting the closing itemprop div to the end, the testing tool returns the correct values.
-
I could be barking up the wrong tree. There is a difference between the price you say and the meta price which has two trailing 00's - this could be why it is ignored?
-
ah, okay. it looks like you closed the itemscope div too early. it should be wrapped around the itemprops.
like so:
<form action="/p/111104/sleeping-dogs-le-x360" method="post">
did you try the testing tool?
http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets
| Redna cena: | 29,99 € |
</form>
-
PhilippB thanks for the idea, but itemscope is declared just above it..
<form action="/p/111104/sleeping-dogs-le-x360" method="post">
| Redna cena: | 29,99 € |
</form>
-
you have to define the Itemscope first, referring to the data vocabulary to state what it is you describe in your itemprop. try this here: http://schema-creator.org/product.php

I broke Google! (random snippet appearing in non-personalized search)
Hello all, so either I broke Google or Google doesn't know how to index my page properly (onradpad.com/paymyrent). If you search "pay rent with credit card", whether you're logged in to Google or not, you'll see a snippet from our signup process (which is js) right under the ad slot in the serps (Awesome! You're signed up!) and it will repeat where my meta data should be. It's been like this for well over a month now and I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. Additionally, if you search for the branded title of the page "pay with radpad", it pulls language that's not on that page (perhaps from somewhere in the js signup form). Though if you search for "pay rent with radpad" you'll see what my meta description is supposed to look like in the serps. Any ideas as to what the heck is going on?

Can You Use More Then One Google Local Rich Snippet on a single site/ on a single page.
I am currently working on a website for a business that has multiple office locations. As I am trying to target all four locations I was wondering if it is okay to have more then one Local Rich Snippet on a single page. (For example they list all four locations and addresses within their footer and I was wondering if I could make these local rich snippets). What about having more then one on a single website. For example if a company has multiple offices located in several different cities and have set up individual contact pages for these cities, can each page have it's own Local Rich Snippet? Will Google look at these multiple "local rich snippets" as spaming or will they recognize the multiple locations and count it towards their local seo?

New small business.. brand or keyword rich domain?
With so many keyword rich domains in circulation is there actually little option for small business right now other than to use keyword rich domains themselves e.g. (businessname)(keywords).com instead of brand e.g. (businessname.com) where competitors are using keyword rich domains and ranking high? It could be a mis-perception on my part, but, unless you have a very old non keyword domain name, if you don't have a keyword rich domain name in a competitive market you will struggle to succeed unless you have a serious SEO budget. Unless you are the next Google/Facebook/Pepsi isn't branding just a load of BS ? We are ourselves are in a predicament about which domain to use for our own website design business. We have a brand name domain name which is a 4 char domain but we also have a brand+keyword domain and are not 100% which one to use as our primary domain. Perhaps we can use the brand domain as our primary domain and then use the brand+keyword domain as an appropriately constructed single page promotional site, perhaps with unique content which links back to the brand domain? Good idea / Bad idea? I guess the overriding question is, if the content is good enough is the domain name you choose irrelevent to some extent?

GWT indexing wrong pages
Hi SEOMoz I have a listings site. In a part of the page, I have 3 comboboxes, for state, county and city. On the change event, the javascript redirects the user to the page of the selected location. Parameters are passed via GET, and my URL is rewrited via htaccess. Example: http:///www.site.com/state/county/city.html The problem is, there is A LOT(more than 10k) of 404 errors. It is happenning because the crawler is trying to index the pages, sometimes WITHOUT a parameter, like http:///www.site.com/state//city.html I don't know how to stop it, and I don't wanna remove it, once it's very clicked by the users. What should I do?

Should I create mini-sites with keyword rich domain names pointing to my main site?
Hi, I'm new to seomoz (and seo in general) and loving it so far. My main domain name is more of a brandname than a search engine friendly list of keywords. I rank well for some keywords I optimized for, and less so for the more competitive keywords. I was wondering if making one page minisites hosted on keyword rich domain names could help in this respect? What I want to do is just have a single page with a few paragraphs of content and links to the main site. I am not looking for links to boost the main site, just for the minisites to do better for several keywords. Will this help? Is this ok, or against some Google policy? Can this hurt the main site rankings? Thank you! **Edit: **I noticed that sites ranking above me on the first page for some keywords have much less on-page elements than my page, have about the same domain trust and also very little inbound links. The only factor I can see is the exact match of keywords in the domain name.
