Social data for links
-
Hey can anyone recommend a tools out there, which can look at a list of urls (over 20+) and it will show the social stats for each url (e.g. number of Facebook Shares, Tweets, etc)?
Or a tool which searchers within a certain category or niche (might be based on the keyword you entered), and finds the most shared content?
Cheers,
Chris

If the URLs you want sharing metrics for are in an RSS feed, you can use this tool: http://www.rypmarketing.com/tools/rss-social-analyzer.php

In what sense do you mean not accurate, both tools get their data via the APIs of all the social networks. However as these reports are not generated on the fly it could be that URLs crawled at the front of a crawl could be in accurate when a crawl finishes.

Hi guys, thanks for your responses.
I've used both social crawytics and shared count in the past. I didn't find them very accurate.
Does anyone know of any alternatives?

Hi Chris
To answer your first question, SharedCount.com will give you a list of all of the key metrics for a URL.
If you want to get the data by bulk, there's this terrific guide on Monchito on how you can setup an excel sheet to check thousands of URLs really quickly.
Hope this helps!

Hi Chris,
Have you tried SocialCrawlytics? It will crawl your site and checks the nr of shares/ likes/ tweets for all the pages found on the domain. Very helpful!

Social Icons Link to Inner Pages
We have the social icons (facebook, twitter, youtube etc) in the footer of our homepage linked to inner pages instead of our actual social accounts. So, if you click on the facebook icon you go to one of our inner pages talking about our facebook profile and why to like us on facebook. Then on this inner page you can get to our facebook profile. We do this so we can pass on PR juice from our homepage to our inner page, and not lose it right off our front page. Is this a good idea? Or does it just confuse users? Most people think when they click on a facebook icon they will go to an actual facebook profile. Here is my homepage, http://www.buyautoparts.com/ click on the icons on the footer and let me know your thoughts.

Value in content from website being shared across social media?
I asked this question a couple of days ago. Would be great if anyone has some good insight: I write content on my site, which I immediately share across Twitter, FB and Google+. Will Google view me as active on social media with this onsite content I distribute across social media sites (basically creating duplicate info across social media, which already is on my site) or will I be seen as less active on social media since I do not write original content on the social media sites, but rather use content from my site and distribute across social media.

Do twitter profile links in bio pass juice?
Links that are added in the "Website" field in a twitter profile are nofollow. However, links added to the "Bio" section are dofollow. This has to mean these links are passing juice correct?

Social Media Signals with AddThis?
Good day guys, Just a quick question. By having the AddThis sharing tool to share content such as blogs, does it still send the same social signals to Google as you would get by having the official Facebook/Twitter plug-ins? Regards

Is there a way on OSE or any other site to find the 50 most socially shared URLs on a given domain?
I'd love to see which URLs on a specific domain get socially shared the most. I know I can use OSE to say figure out exactly how much social sharing has happened on let's say this URL:
Social Media | | Almonds
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama But what if I want to figure out the top 50 most shared URLs across all of wikipedia.org. Is that possible on OSE or anywhere else? If not, do you have some ideas on how something similar could be achieved?0
