Does Google bot read embedded content?

Is embedded content "really" on my page?
There are many addons nowadays that are used by embedded code and they bring the texts after the page is loaded.
For example - embedded surveys.
Are these read by the Google bot or do they in fact act like iframes and are not physically on my page?

If you look at most of the Facebook comment implementations, they're usually embedded with an iframe.
Technically speaking, that is making the content load from another source (not on your site).
As we're constantly seeing Google evolve with regard to "social signals", however, I suspect embedded Facebook comments may begin to have an impact if they pertain to content that is actually located on your website.

I didn't see any recent test for 2013, but it's been analyzed quite a bit, and the 2 links below expand a bit on what I mentioned.
The conclusion on the first one below is that it won't index content loaded dynamically from a javascript file on another server/domain.

The content it loads is not visible in the view source.

Googlebot has become extremely intelligent since its inception, and I'd guess that most members here would probably agree that it's gotten to the point where it can detect virtually any type of content on a page.
For the purposes of analyzing the actual content that it indexes and uses for ranking / SEO, however, I'd venture to guess that the best test would be viewing the page source after the page has loaded.
If you can see the content you're questioning in the actual HTML, then Google will probably index it, and use it considerably for ranking purposes.
On the other hand, if you just see some type of javascript snippet / function where the content would otherwise be located in the page source, Google can probably read it, but won't likely use it heavily when indexing and ranking.
There are special ways to get Google to crawl such content that is loaded through javascript or other types of embeds, but it's been my experience that most embeds are not programmed this way by default.

Is it's easier to analyze if you have an example URL. These can be coded many different ways and a slight change can make a difference.

Getting Google to index our sitemap
Hi, We have a sitemap on AWS that is retrievable via a url that looks like ours http://sitemap.shipindex.org/sitemap.xml. We have notified Google it exists and it found our 700k urls (we are a database of ship citations with unique urls). However, it will not index them. It has been weeks and nothing. The weird part is that it did do some of them before, it said so, about 26k. Then it said 0. Now that I have redone the sitemap, I can't get google to look at it and I have no idea why. This is really important to us, as we want not just general keywords to find our front page, but we also want specific ship names to show links to us in results. Does anyone have any clues as to how to get Google's attention and index our sitemap? Or even just crawl more of our site? It has done 35k pages crawling, but stopped.

Duplicate content with URLs
Hi all, Do you think that is possible to have duplicate content issues because we provide a unique image with 5 different URLs ? In the HTML code pages, just one URL is provide. It's enough for that Google don't see the other URLs or not ? Hi Mozzers Having worked on my companies site for a couple of months now correcting many issues, im now ready to begin looking at a content review, many areas of the site contain duplicate content, the main causes being 1. Category Page Duplications

Item 2 Causing almost all the content on the site to get devalued. Whilst i've cleared all moz errors and warnings im certain this is causing devaluation of most of the website. I was hoping you could answer these questions so I know what to expect once i have made the changes. Will the pages that had duplicate content recover once they possess unique content or should i expect a hard and slow climb back? The website has never receive any warnings from Google, does this mean recovery for penalties like duplicate content will be quicker Several pages rank on page 1 for fairly competitive keywords despite having duplicate content and keyword spammy content. What are the chances of shooting myself in the foot by editing this content? I know I will have to wait for google to crawl the pages before i see any reflection in the changes, but how long after google has crawled the page should I get a realistic idea of how positive the changes were? Showing Different Content To Members & Non-Members/Google and Cloaking Risk
How do we safely show logged-in members/Google one type of content on a page and logged out/non-members another kind of content without getting slammed for cloaking? Right now we do this thing where we show Google everything on the page, but new visitors partial forum comments with the pitch to sign up and see full comments. So far, we have not gotten into trouble for this. The new idea is to show non-members a lot of marketing messages and one kind of navigation and then once they sign up and are logged in, show different or no marketing messages and a different kind of navigation. How do we stay out of trouble with this? Where is the cloaking line drawn? It's got me kinda nervous. Thanks... Darcy

Multiple Google+ Local (Google Place) under one email address
As a automotive dealership group, we have 15+ business listings set up under one Google+ local account. Google+ Local (Google Places) offers the ability to upload a data file for 10+ listings, so we've kept all listings under one login for efficiency. Is there any specific local SEO benefit or any general benefit at all to having each business listing set up under their own separate email address?

Should I do something about this duplicate content? If so, what?
On our real estate site we have our office listings displayed. The listings are generated from a scraping script that I wrote. As such, all of our listings have the exact same description snippet as every other agent in our office. The rest of the page consists of site-wide sidebars and a contact form. The title of the page is the address of the house and so is the H1 tag. Manually changing the descriptions is not an option. Do you think it would help to have some randomly generated stuff on the page such as "similar listings"? Any other ideas? Thanks!

Duplicate Listings on Google Maps
About 3 weeks ago google created a duplicate listing for our law firm on google maps. In building links I have tried very hard to ensure that our address and company name was always listed identically. Our correct firm name and address is Feldman Feldman & Associates, PC 2221 Camino Del Rio South, Suite 201 inevitably somehow the new listing stated Camino Del Rio S, Ste 201 All of our reviews moved over to this new profile, I claimed it, changed it to make it the same reported it to Google. Google merged them. Now Google has created another profile this time the firm name and address matches ours exactly (South and Suite both spelled out), but all of the reviews have moved over except for the most recent one(s). I have claimed it again and reported it to google, changed the address. Google then created another listing. Our page rank for keywords has been hurt by this. any idea why this keeps happening suggestions? Here are the two pages.
