My website pages are not crawled, what to do?
-
Hi all.
I have made some changes on the website so i like to crawled them by the search engines Google especially.
I have made these changes around 2 weeks ago. I have submitted my website on good bookmarking websites.
Also i used a tool available in Google webmasters "Fetch as Google", Resubmitted a sitemap.xml.
Still my pages are not crawled your opinion please.
Thanks

this is somenting I would love to know more!-)
I think news and updates, maybe a blog in your site can make google "feel" it has to come back more times to refresh your site again ( "hum dude, they are doing something there)... Links to your site and to new articles in social media could help a lot.
If you find anything let us know!-)

Hi Sha,
I just add this meta tag (as below) to help to crawl the page but not sure how it is.
I am just worried that if we make changes in our website pages and submit the site map in webmaster (that's mean that we are put request to search engine crawler to crawl the page ) but why they do not.
what is the actual reason behind this.
also can you please explain me that what the other methods to force the search engine crawler to crawl our page.

HI Martin,
Exactly, all url are indexed in search engines but they are not crawled after making a changes that is the main concern for me now.
For example:
Take a look on Magento Development page that showing last crawled 17 Mar 2013. I have made some changes and that should be crawled on a regular basis same as previous crawling.
Url :http://www.lucidsoftech.com/magento-development.html
your thoughts?
Thanks

Lucid,
I´ve just made a search on google and I found 93 results for your site, http://www.lucidsoftech.com/ , is that url right?
How many results do you actually own?

Normally when u submitted your pages on few good social bookmarking, workout in webmasters, after generate few good back links all these thing are very helpful for page crawling.
Still waiting for the page crawling. Thanks Sha

HI Martin,
Before making these changes they crawled regular basis and I just changed a meta title keywords and description but don't know the reason why after making these changes on few pages my web pages are not crawled in past 2 weeks and and still they are not crawled.
Martin i have my robots.txt in public.html and i allow the page that should be crawled by the bots.
waiting fro the page crawling.Thanks
-
Hi lucidsoftech,
The site is definitely indexed, but without knowing the specific URLs you are waiting on, it is a little difficult.
I ran a quick crawl with Screaming Frog and there are actually quite a few pages on the site which have the noindex meta tag in place - have you checked that the pages you are wanting indexed are not excluded with a tag?
Just a thought,
Sha

make sure you have a robots.txt on public folder. You must allow bots and disallow some folders.
Example of robots.txt of wordpress site
User-agent: *
Allow: /Disallow: /*?
Disallow: /feed/
Disallow: /trackback/
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Disallow: /wp-content/
Disallow: /wp-includes/
Disallow: /xmlrpc.php
Disallow: /wp-
Disallow: /tmpAllow: /wp-content/uploads/

Indexed pages
Just started a site audit and trying to determine the number of pages on a client site and whether there are more pages being indexed than actually exist. I've used four tools and got four very different answers... Google Search Console: 237 indexed pages Google search using site command: 468 results MOZ site crawl: 1013 unique URLs Screaming Frog: 183 page titles, 187 URIs (note this is a free licence, but should cut off at 500) Can anyone shed any light on why they differ so much? And where lies the truth?

Advice on whether we 301 redirect a page or update existing page?
Hi guys, any advice would be really appreciated. We have an existing page that ranks well for 'red widgets'. The page isn't monetised right now, but we're bringing in a new product onto our site that we optimised for 'blue widgets'. Unfortunately, not enough research was done for this page and we've now realised that consumers actually search for 'red widgets' when looking for the product we're creating as 'blue widgets'. The problem with this is that the 'red widgets' page is in a completely different category of our site than what it needs to be (it needs to be with 'blue widgets'). So, my question is; Should we do a 301 redirect from our 'red-widgets' page to our 'blue-widgets' page which we want to update and optimise the content on there for 'red-widgets'. Or, should we update the existing red-widgets page to have the right products and content on there, even thought it is in the wrong place of our site and users could get confused as to why they are there. If we do a 301 redirect to our new page, will we lose our rankings and have to start again, or is there a better way around this? Thanks! Dave

Redesigning client website and will be losing a lot of landing pages. How to avoid tanking search traffic?
We are working with a client who is changing the direction of the company's marketing efforts. The current site includes many (approx 100) pages for each partner they work with (each partner has its own page). The new site will be losing many of these and we want to be sure we don't destroy organic traffic/rankings in the process. These landing pages don't directly garner the most traffic but it will definitely be a big change in the size of the site. Any advice for how to best handle the redesign is appreciated, thanks!

Have a client that migrated their site; went live with noindex/nofollow and for last two SEOMoz crawls only getting one page crawled. In contrast, G.A. is crawling all pages. Just wait?
Client site is 15 + pages. New site had noindex/nofollow removed prior to last two crawls.

Moz Crawl Reporting Duplicate content on "template" styled pages
We have a lot of detail pages on our site that reference specific scholarships. Each page has a different Title and Description. They also have unique information all regarding the same data points. The pages are displayed in a similar structure to the user so the data is easy to read. My problem is a lot of these pages are being reported as duplicate content when they certainly are not. Most of them are reported as duplicates when they have the same sponsor. They may have the same contact information listed. These two are being reported as duplicate of each other. They share some data but they are definitely different scholarships. http://www.collegexpress.com/scholarships/adelaide-mcclelland-garden-club-scholarship/9254/ http://www.collegexpress.com/scholarships/mary-wannamaker-witt-and-lee-hampton-witt-memorial-scholarship/10785/ Would it help to add a Canonical for each page to themselves? Any other suggestions would be great. Thanks

Page rank 2 for home page, 3 for service pages
Hey guys, I have noticed with one of our new sites, the home page is showing page rank two, whereas 2 of the internal service pages are showing as 3. I have checked with both open site explorer and yahoo back links and there are by far more links to the home page. All quality and relevant directory submissions and blog comments. The site is only 4 months old, I wonder if anyone can shed any light on the fact 2 of the lesser linked pages are showing higher PR? Thanks 🙂

Sitemap for dynamic website with over 10,000 pages
If I have a website with thousands of products, is it a good idea to create a sitemap for this website for the search engines where you show maybe 250 products on a page so it makes it easy for the search engine to find the part and also puts that part closer to the home page? Seems like google likes pages that are the closest to the home page (less clicks the better)
