Duplicate Page Title
-
Hi
I just got back from first crawl report and there were plenty of errors. I know this has been asked before but I am newbie here so bear with me.
I captured the video. Any ideas on how to address the issue?

Hi mcardenal.
Given you're a newbie you might just need to walk yourself thru the site and make sure all your title and description tags are unique.
Your site is not huge. I would start with a screaming frog crawl of your site. The basic software is free. It's an extremely easy way to crawl your site and quickly and easily find duplicate tags.
If you're looking for a more indepth answer to your question, keep reading.
A standard Wordpress installation isn't SEO friendly. But you're in luck! Back in February there was an advanced SEO webinar hosted by SEOMoz and lead by Nick Herinckx. Nick explains what you need to do maximize your findability.
Here's the link to the webinar - http://www.seomoz.org/webinars/advanced-wordpress-seo. It runs about an hour and a half including Q&A, but it's well worth your time to watch it.
You have unnecessary repetition in your tagline as well. "Conquer student student debt!" You might want to fix that at the same time.

Thanks for the reply. No, it's not a duplicate post it's actually two different issues. I am running a wordpress blog and I also have that plug in by SEO Yoast.
Here is a screenshot where you might be able to see it better. Any feedback on how to fix the problem?

Duplicate page content.... or duplicate post?
Anyway, having separate title tags for each page helps searchers get a good idea of what the page content is about and provides an SEO boost if they include your keywords. Try to keep it relevant to the page and only squeeze in keywords where it's natural to do so.
If you are running Wordpress, then you can use the excellent Yoast plugin to make SEO title tags easier to change.
Also, the video is pretty hard to see...screenshots might work better.

Create Page Titles from H1 using Yoast?
I'm working on a site that has 280 blog posts that have either been migrated from an old CMS site or created on the Dev version of the new WordPress site. We've written 280 unique meta descriptions so they don't truncate but it there a quick way I can export the current H1s and then import them into Yoast so they are set as the Page Titles? I've written unique Page Titles and meta descriptions for all the Service and Products page and just want a way to speed up the blog posts as their H1s are really good and what I would use as Page Titles anyway. Any help, greatly appreciated!

Duplication in Meta Titles
Hi,
Technical SEO | | ChrisHolgate
In order to appease the Moz crawler we recently changed over 10,000 URL's in order to make our Meta Page Title less than 55 characters as it suggested. Unfortunately our rankings dropped dramatically pretty much overnight so I am getting the feeling that perhaps our titles are now just a little too concise and need elaborating on just a touch. Our competitors that rank well seem to use a small amount of keyword repetition. For example, whereas we may have:
Brother DCP-197C Inkjet Cartridges They will have:
Brother DCP-197C Inkjet Cartridges. Cheap Brother DCP-197C Ink. What are your opinions of the fact that: a) Their Title is over the 55 character figure that is suggested for displaying correctly in the SERPs.
b) The words Brother and DCP-197C are repeated in the title. The fact their title appears to be working better is almost enough to sway me but the competitors title just looks a little too spammy for me to make a sitewide change without asking some second opinions first. Cheers all!0 -
My Home Page meta title on Google isn't what it should be
Hey guys My website is http://www.oxfordmeetsfifth.com According to SEOcentro, my website should appear to Google as Fashion Tips for Women | Oxford Meets Fifth. I have used the Yoast plugin and force rewrote titles to ensure that is the home page meta title. It also appears correctly in browser. Could anyone advise why this is the case? Thanks in advance!

Hi, We use Magento for our eCommerce platform and I'm getting a number of duplicate page content results. It mainly concerns the duplicate page content errors for our category pages. Firstly It seems like the product type and filter options highlighted in the picture are causing duplicate page content Also one particularity category is getting a lot from duplicate page content errors , http://www.tidy-books.co.uk/shop-all-products I understand that this category page is using duplicate pages of other category pages so I set this to exclude them from the site map but it looks likes its till being picked up? I've attached the csv file showing these errors as well. - > Any help would be massively appreciated Thanks filter.png moz-tidy-books-uk-crawl_issues-01-OCT-2014.csv

Does page speed affect what pages are in the index?
We have around 1.3m total pages, Google currently crawls on average 87k a day and our average page load is 1.7 seconds. Out of those 1.3m pages(1.2m being "spun up") google has only indexed around 368k and our SEO person is telling us that if we speed up the pages they will crawl the pages more and thus will index more of them. I personally don't believe this. At 87k pages a day Google has crawled our entire site in 2 weeks so they should have all of our pages in their DB by now and I think they are not index because they are poorly generated pages and it has nothing to do with the speed of the pages. Am I correct? Would speeding up the pages make Google crawl them faster and thus get more pages indexed?
