Google site: operator showing only 30 results for whatever website you may like, omitting the rest
-
site:wikipedia.org
site:seomoz.org
site:nytimes.com
site:WHATEVER YOU PUT HERE
is currently always showing just 3 SERP pages and the well known ugly message:
In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 30 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.Any idea what's going on?!!? Ongoing update?

Thanks for confirming that it's not a new feature to bother us

It is a temporary glitch caused by Google's domain clustering. It should be back to normal by next week. Matt Cutts confirmed this. Irritating as hell though.

Can you help me figure out why my website is in conflict with guidelines of Google ?
Hi, Since few weeks now we received this message saying that our website is in conflict with the guidelines of Google's Webmaster. Here is the website for which we received the message from Google: http://www.gocustomized.es/. This url redirect to https://www.gocustomized.es/ I thought after reading your some messages from the forum that the problem was our website reviews which appear on all pages of the site. And I know that the review of the websites shouldn't be considered like the review of the product. But we remove the reviews and our request is still declined. Thanks in advance for your help.

How can I get Google to forget an https version of one page on my site?
Google mysteriously decided to index the broken, https version of one page on my company's site (we have a cert for the site, but this page is not designed to be served over https and the CSS doesn't load). The page already has many incoming links to the http version, and it has a canonical URL with http. I resubmitted it on http with webmaster tools. Is there anything else I could do?

Google showing a Cached option but then giving a 404
2 weeks ago my home page plus some others had a 301 redirect to another domain for about 1 week (due to a hack). The original pages were then de-indexed and the new bad domain was indexed and in effect stole my rankings. Then the 301 was removed/cleaned from my domain and the bad domain was fully de-indexed via a request I made (this was 1 week ago). Then my pages came back into the index but without any ranking power. Now when I perform a search for my domain my home page is listed with an option to view the Cache. Clicking on the Cache brings up a 404 error. So why is Google showing the Cached option but doesn't have the cached file? How do I get Google to properly update it's Cache or show a cached copy?

What changes do i need to make to my site to get into google news
Hi, when we had the old design, we were in google news but then when we upgraded our site, we had a major problem which forced us to have to redesign our site. Since then we have not been included in google news and we would like to get back in. We only want to be in google news for the following page http://www.in2town.co.uk/Latest-News-Headlines But for some reason, no matter what we do we keep getting knocked back. I would love to know what we should be doing to get into google news and see what the problems are. We have moved to a bigger dedicated server to increase speed so i know it is not that. Any help would be great Also is there an alternative to google news that i can get our site into to generate traffic and to get our news stories straight out to people Hi, Thank you for your note. We appreciate your interest in sharing your content with us. However, when we reviewed your site, we found that we cannot include it in Google News at this time. We have certain guidelines in place regarding the quality of sites which are included in Google News. Please feel free to review these guidelines at the following link: http://www.google.com/support/news_pub/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=40787 We know it can be frustrating to not have more information about this but we appreciate your efforts and understanding. We will log your site for future consideration. Please keep in mind that we will be unlikely to review your site for at least 60 days following this email. Thanks for your understanding and your continued interest in Google News. Regards,

New Website, New URL, New Content - What do we do with the old site? Are 301's the only option?
We've just built a new site for a client. They were adamant on changing the url. The new site is entirely new content, however the subject mater is the same. Some pages are even titled very similarly. Is is advisable to keep the old site running, and link it to the new site? Permanently, or temporarily? Do we simply place redirects from the old site the new? Old site was 30 pages, new site is 80 pages. So redirects won't be available to all the new pages. It seems a shame to trash the old site, it is getting some good traffic, and the content - although outdated is unique and of a high quality. Old url is 4+ yrs old, the new url is new. Some enlightened opinions would be greatly welcomed. Thanks

Help: Google Time Spent Downloading a Page, My Site is Slow
All, My site: http://www.nationalbankruptcyforum.com shows an average time spent downloading a page of 1,489 (in milliseconds) We've had spikes of well over 3,000 and lows of around 980 (all according to WMT). I understand that this is really slow. Does anyone have some suggestions as to how I could improve load times? Constructive criticism welcomed and encouraged.
