SEO from INDIA Smarter then Google?
-
Exploring this url:
In Open Site Explorer, it is clear those guys bought one of those package available on site like eLance.com a low price over seas!!!
Where freelancer around the word can be hired for a fews bucks. For example, I post a job on eLance for SEO and most of the freelancer submitting where from INDIA. For just a few hundreds dollars, you can get a complet SEO package. At first, the price was attractive, but when posting on seoMoz and doing research, I came to the conclusion, the techniques they use might hurt more the produce positive result...
How can you get a D.A. of 45 using backlinks they get?
I read all those things about Google algorithm, and Panda and Penguin and this and that... Being impossible to crack!
Do you have a explanation?
I work really hard ans spends lots of $$$ to have a clean site selling furnace filters
I follow all the SEO guide lines, practice only white hat trying to built somethings, but with a P.A. of 19 and a competitors ranking like this, I ask myself:"Maybe INDIA is smarter then Google and I should do like this site, spend a couple of hundreds dollars and buy myself a high D.A."

To add an actionable response to the mix.....
I suggest making a list of authority sites within your niche or closely related. Research what kind of sites they are linking to (if only gov sites etc. then scratch off the list). If you find other sites similar to yourself that have links then make a resource not currently available and start a campaign that has merit as to why high authority sites SHOULD link to you. (for the benefit of their users and their site)
"I want to make money" is not unique in any way and in my opinion if you are teetering on turning to spammy farm style marketing to build your site then you are probably a long ways from where you need to be. When you are talking about yourself you will find few to listen but when you start talking about others and focusing on ways that you can be an asset to them you will find an audience truly interested in what you have to say.
For example: Dedicate a small section of your site to filters specially for homes that were certified with Energy Star AirPlus at the time they were built. Then go to http://epa.gov/iaplus01/join_now.html and sign up as an ally to the program. If accepted (it is not tough by any means) then you get a DA 100 dofollow back link from the ultimate authority in your industry, the EPA. Doesn't that sound like a better long term business building option than choosing strategies that will position yourself as the enemy to a $100 Billion Company that controls 70% of the worlds search volume?

"How can you get a D.A. of 45 using backlinks they get?"
Keep in mind that Domain Authority doesn't have the same strong spam algorithms that Google incorporates. Although there is a consideration for spammy sites, it's actually much easier to manipulate Domain Authority than it is Google (although in the future improvements to Domain Authority will likely mean more spam is discounted)
Unfortunately, manipulating Domain Authority in a black-hat way does nothing for your rankings. While Domain Authority remains one of the best predictors of how a domain will rank in search results, Google does not actually take Domain Authority into considerations. If your competitors are buying obvious unnatural links, it's likely they are not doing as well in search results as you might suspect.
If you're looking for long lasting results, better to have 1 good earned link than 1000 spammy one.

Dont listen to chris, you can lose your 19 DA points along with your money with the next algorithm update by google. he just messing with you.
1. Do not get duped with cheap prices or "paid" links. if you want paid links, run a PR campaign, far far better value. do some press releases if you have news to share. "paid links" of most other kinds really will bite you at some point.
2. you are not doing "everything" in your power, not even close.
3. DIY SEO can be very time consuming and hard to do properly, that is why people like you, business owners whose time is worth more than sitting and learning all about SEO, hire people whose lives revolve around SEO.
4. per my basic and quick look up of your website:
-
Your top referring "followed" baclink comes from a page with DA of 55. not so stellar.
-
you have 10 total "root domains" giving you 312 backlinks. looks kind of very spammy! that is 31 links per each root domain and only 10 total referring root domains.
-
per a little further digging
I notice that your anchor text profile does not seem something too healthy for SEO, very little relevance, and very irrelevant variance. You need to do some keyword research and better optimize your page titles and on-page SEO and then try to integrate those KWs in a non-spammy way into your controlled back-links (those you can edit). you further really need to invest in a way to have user or third party generated content about you and your company.
there you go, now you have a few things to get started on instead of just being upset and pondering what you have done wrong or what those other guys do. SEO is no quick fix nor easy thing to mess with and requires a lot of study time and dedication on a continuous basis.
Good luck!

Go for it! All you've got to lose is a little bit of money. Maybe it will work out for you.

Google says 404s don't cause ranking drops, but what about a lot of them
Hello, According to Google here, 404s don't cause rankings to go down. Our rankings are going down and we have about 50 or so 404s (though some may have been deindexed by now). We have about 300 main products and 9000 pages in general on this Ecommerce site. There's no link equity gained by 301 redirecting the 404s. A custom 404 page has been made linking to the home page. There's nothing linking to the pages that are 404s Provided that no more 404s are created, can I just ignore them and find the real reason our rankings are going down?

Website not listing in google - screaming frog shows 500 error? What could the issue be?
Hey, http://www.interconnect.org.uk/ - the site seems to load fine, but for some reason the site is not getting indexed. I tried running the site on screaming frog, and it gives a 500 error code, which suggests it can't access the site? I'm guessing this is the same problem google is having, do you have any ideas as to why this may be and how I can rectify this? Thanks, Andrew

Can i 301 redirect a website that does not have manual penalty - but definetly affected by google
ok, i have a website (website A) which has been running since 2008, done very nicely in search results, until january of this year... it dropped siginificantly, losing about two thirds of visitors etc... then in may basically lost the rest... i was pulling my hair out for months trying to figure out why, i "think" it was something to do with links and anchor text, i got rid of old SEO company, got a new SEO company, they have done link analysis, trying to remove lots of links, have dissavowed about 500 domains... put in a reconsideration request... got a reply saying there is no manual penalty... so new seo company says all they can do is carry on removing links, and wait for penguin to update and hopefully that will fix it... this will take as along as it takes penguin to update again... obviously i can not wait indefinetely, so they have advised i start a new website (website B)... which is a complete duplicate of website A. Now as we do not know whats wrong with website A - (we think its links - and will get them removed) my seo company said we cant do a 301 redirect, as we will just cause what ever is wrong to pass over to website B... so we need to create a blank page for every single page at website A, saying we have moved and put a NO FOLLOW link to the new page on website B.... Personally i think the above will look terrible, and not be a very user friendly experience - but my seo company says it is the only way to do it... before i do it, i just wanted to check with some experts here, if this is right? please advise if 301 redirects are NOT correct way to do this. thanks

Dust.js Client-side JavaScript Templates & SEO
I work for a commerce company and our IT team is pushing to switch our JSP server-side templates over to client-side templates using a JavaScript library called Dust.js Dust.js is a JavaScript client-side templating solution that takes the presentation layer away from the data layer. The problem with front-end solutions like this is they are not SEO friendly because all the content is being served up with JavaScript. Dust.js has the ability to render your client-side content server-side if it detects Google bot or a browser with JavaScript turned off but I’m not sold on this as being “safe”. Read about Linkedin switching over to Dust.js http://engineering.linkedin.com/frontend/leaving-jsps-dust-moving-linkedin-dustjs-client-side-templates http://engineering.linkedin.com/frontend/client-side-templating-throwdown-mustache-handlebars-dustjs-and-more Explanation of this: “Dust.js server side support: if you have a client that can't execute JavaScript, such as a search engine crawler, a page must be rendered server side. Once written, the same dust.js template can be rendered not only in the browser, but also on the server using node.js or Rhino.” Basically what would be happening on the backend of our site, is we would be detecting the user-agent of all traffic and once we found a search bot, serve up our web pages server-side instead client-side to the bots so they can index our site. Server-side and client-side will be identical content and there will be NO black hat cloaking going on. The content will be identical. But, this technique is Cloaking right? From Wikipedia: “Cloaking is a SEO technique in which the content presented to the search engine spider is different from that presented to the user's browser. This is done by delivering content based on the IP addresses or the User-Agent HTTP header of the user requesting the page. When a user is identified as a search engine spider, a server-side script delivers a different version of the web page, one that contains content not present on the visible page, or that is present but not searchable.” Matt Cutts on Cloaking http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=66355 Like I said our content will be the same but if you read the very last sentence from Wikipdia it’s the “present but not searchable” that gets me. If our content is the same, are we cloaking? Should we be developing our site like this for ease of development and performance? Do you think client-side templates with server-side solutions are safe from getting us kicked out of search engines? Thank you in advance for ANY help with this!

Does Google Penalize for Managing multiple Google Places from the same IP Address? Can you manage from same google account or separate? Or does it matter since it's created from the same IP?
I manage a number of client's Google Places from the same IP and heard this is not a good thing. Are there Do's and Don'ts when managing multiple Google Places? Create separate google accounts for each or can you use the same account?
