Does google have trigger words it does not like?
-
If we mention words such as supplement or lesser word cosmetic are they a trigger to anything Google side such as a more through look at the website or such as I can see sex ect being one.
I am not selling the above but we do sell the stickers for them (not the sex ones) so just airing on caution on weather to have a page talking about them on the site.

Hello Bob,
Considering you are selling stickers regarding supplements, etc. you really do not have a worry. First, no poison words and second, the search engines have already said, "we need your help with this and we would like to provide a solution." Since you are selling a product: use Product markup and there will be no question as to what you are involved in.
Even if you did not, and you were still selling stickers. The robots will look at a lot on the page and they will semantically infer who or what you are / are selling, etc. So, if you have supplements over and over and discount preceeds it, the inference will be that you are selling discount supplements. But if you have stickers for supplement bottles. Stickers for supplement boxes, etc. you will fall elsewhere. (Yes, all, I am being simplistic.)Good question though as I have heard the 'rumors' of the poison words, etc. Just never seen any proof.

There used to be this concept of "poison words" floating around that I never really understood or believed it had any merit but I haven't heard talk of such for many years now. Today, each individual word used on your page adjusts the page's relevance slightly but of more significance is the breadth of the vocabulary used on it. If a word like "sex" is used a few times on the page, and in the title, Google will zero in on that word as topical for that page and will lean towards ranking that page in search results for that that term. If it's just used once or a few times on a page, it's no big deal--it's not going to impact your rankings for anything.

Interest in optimise Google Crawl
Hello, I have an ecommerce site with all pages crawled and indexed by Google. But I have some pages with multiple urls like : www.sitename.com/product-name.html and www.sitename.com/category/product-name.html There is a canonical on all these pages linking to the simplest url (so Google index only one page). So the multiple pages are not indexed, but Google still comes crawling them. My question is : Did I have any interest in avoiding Google to crawl these pages or not ? My point is that Google crawl around 1500 pages a day on my site, but there are only 800 real pages and they are all indexed on Google. There is no particular issue, so is it interesting to make it change ? Thanks

Is Google ignoring my canonicals?
Hi, We have rel=canonical set up on our ecommerce site but Google is still indexing pages that have rel=canonical. For example, http://www.britishbraces.co.uk/braces/novelty.html?colour=7883&p=3&size=599 http://www.britishbraces.co.uk/braces/novelty.html?p=4&size=599 http://www.britishbraces.co.uk/braces/children.html?colour=7886&mode=list These are all indexed but all have rel=canonical implemented. Can anyone explain why this has happened?

Google images
Hi, I am working on a website with a large number (millions) of images. For the last five months Ihave been trying to get Google Images to crawl and index these images (example page: http://bit.ly/1ePQvyd). I believe I have followed best practice in the design of the page, naming of images etc. Whilst crawlng and indexing of the pages is going reasonably well with the standard crawler, the image bot has only crawled about half a million images and indexed only about 40,000. Can anyone suggest what I could do to increase this number 100 fold? Richard

Google plus
"Google+ members, and to a lesser extent others who are signed into Google, will be able to search against both the broader web and their own Google+ social graph. That’s right; Google+ circles, photos, posts and more will be integrated into search in ways other social platforms can only dream about." What is meant by " and to a lesser extent others who are signed into Google" ? Does it mean that non-google plus members won't be able to view Google+photos, posts ?
