Our root domain is no longer appearing in search results

Hi all
The root domain for our site, roadtrippers.com, has been disappearing from Google's search results. Subfolders and subdomains still appear, but our root domain isn't found at all. I believe I've verified this by searching "-inurl:trips -inurl:byways -inurl:support -inurl:blog -inurl:places -inurl:guides -inurl:destinations site:https://roadtrippers.com/" in Google and our root domain is nowhere to be found.
This may or may not be related to another issue we've had, where the root domain is appearing with a seemingly rotating set of parameters. Sometimes it'll be ?mod=, sometimes it'll be ?tag=translation. Originally they appeared to simply displace our ranking root domain, but now they and our root domain are completely disappearing. Our dev team believes they fixed the problem with recent 301 tags to any unapproved parameter being added to the root domain, but this hasn't fixed the original problem.
Any insight into this is greatly appreciated!

Thanks everybody. Total oversight not to even bother checking what I never considered to be an issue. Now to go talk to our dev team to figure out how this even got in...

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question, but I notice that the page at https://roadtrippers.com/ has the following meta tag in the header:

Your homepage has this meta-tag on it
name="Robots" content="noindex,follow">
Remove it and you're good to go

Yeah I see what you mean. Just googling "roadtrippers" shows me what you're describing. Your blog seems to populate first, which sort of makes sense as it has the most content.
Beyond the redirect issues, there may be a thin-content issue going on since there really doesn't appear to be a ton on that home page. Have you tried fetching as Google to see what they're seeing? What does it look like?
This is interesting I'd like to see what other people say. Cause your site looks awesome.. now how do you get it indexed beyond the blog...

Google Trends Graph and KW Planner Monthly Searches?
I'm trying to show people the trends of certain keywords/topics over a period of years Keyword Planner gives some actual numbers but only for 12 months. Trends will show "Numbers represent search interest relative to the highest point on the chart. If at most 10% of searches for the given region and time frame were for "pizza," we'd consider this 100. This doesn't convey absolute search volume." Which I don't really understand, other than if the graph goes up it means more interest but has to do with the amount of people searching, location, etc which can get tricky? I'd like to put together a short report explaining certain topics and how interest in them has increased over the last 5+ years. I'm hoping someone else here has had some experience with this and has some advice or links with more information?

Importance of Links for Local Search
**According to an article about the "no no's for local SEO" links are not very important. Here is an excerpt: "**Local SEO is very different when compared to traditional SEO. The importance of backlinks in local SEO isn’t as important. In other words, links simply don’t matter as much when it comes to local SEO. Googles’ local search algorithm treats links completely differently than its standard algorithm." How accurate is this statement? Wouldn't more links help your local pages rank better in non-local organic results such as the results outside of the new carousel?

Homepage dropped from Results as I get #1 Local
Today, I noticed for a website I have (www.ghosttoursinsavannah.com) the homepage dropped out of the rankings for only one keyword. This site was previously number 3 for s specific keyword, 'Savannah Ghost Tours'. This keyword is also the keyword most customers search for, by far. Hence my mini-panic. All other keywords (roughly 200 of them) I was previously ranked for are still, pretty much, in the same location rank-wise that they were before. This is for Google by the way. The other thing I noticed is that for many keywords I am all of a sudden the (A) Local Result. I wasn't even on the map previously. Now, the keyword for which my homepage dropped from the rankings, 'Savannah Ghost Tours' is also the 'name' of my company according to Google Local. I haven't had this happen before and am quite confused by it. If anyone can help me understand why this happened and if there is anything I can do to get my organic ranking back, I would appreciate it. The only change I made wasn't even to the site. I did go out and use GetListed to add my company to a number of sites, that is all I have done in the past month. Also, These two things happened the same day, the drop in rank and the promotion to number one position for local. google-rankings.png

Why am I getting different Google SERP result for same keywords?
Hi Mozzers, I have noticed recently that Google (.com.au) has been serving up different SERP results for the same keywords. For example, one of our main keywords is "Car Loan". One result will show our site as ranking #5 organically from 242,000,000 results. A refresh of this search will then result in our site not ranking at all from 133,000,000 results. We have been noticing this happen only in the last few days & more frustrating is that Google is throwing up the SERP from 133,000,000 results more frequently. Would anyone know why this is occurring? And what can we do, if anything, to ensure we are shown regardless of how many results Google calls from? Is it from recent algo update & will it settle down over time? Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Just to add - I'm not gogged in to Google when completing this test & regularly clear cookies etc so I don't believe its a personalised search issue)

Recent changes to suggested search algorithm?
Our company recently had a "company name + scam" listing as #2 in suggested search, and yesterday, it miraculously disappeared. Has anyone else noticed similar changes in suggested search results? I hope it stick, I'm just trying to understand exactly what caused that 1 listing to vanish.
