What happens when i import analytics conversions into adwords if I already have conversions set up?
-
Hey everyone, I have a question.
We already have conversion tracking set up for our landing pages, however Adwords has the option to import goals from anaytics, one of which is for the landing pages. What will happen if I do? Will it erase all the conversion data I already have? Will it mess things up? Or am I not understanding this correctly... Any help would be appreciated

I know this thread has been answered but do you have a preference on this.
What are the pros and cons of importing Analytic goals into Adwords? I prefer to keep it all separate as adwords conversions will show up in Analytics. Any thoughts on this?

Hi Stephanie,
It will mess things up - at least in my experience.
They did not delete the already existing conversions. They were added to that number. In the standard campaign interface you will get the total sum (adwords + analytics). In the Conversion setup window you will see the actual numbers from both sources. Maybe you could see the actual numbers in the campaign window also if you segment the view by conversion type.
I think this causes big problems for accounts running CPA bidding (and maybe eCPC - not sure about this). These bidding types are very sensitive to changes for the number of conversions. If you had 50 USD/lead CPA set up as target and you suddenly double the conversion numbers you might pay up to 2x times the CPC you already pay.
However, if you are not running on CPA bidding I think that this won't be a major problem. It might be complicated to see which keyword had which conversion - but you can get around this in a way or another. But it won't change your CPC, traffic volume and so on...
For now, there is no way to remove imported or existing conversions - at least from what I know. I did some research about it a while ago. However, there is interesting new feature - > Track Offline Conversions - https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2998031?hl=en which maybe, if set right, might delete conversions (not sure yet, did not test it)
So, this is just from my experience with a similar problem. Hope it helps!

Experiences Tracking Phone Call Conversions?
Tracking conversions via phone call can be challenging. The Adwords phone ads only register a conversion if someone clicks on the phone number from their mobile phone. In many cases a landing page on a website has a lead/contact form AND a phone number displayed. The user calling that number would not be registered as a conversion unless you setup multiple virtual forwarding phone numbers for prominent keywords, ad groups and/or campaigns. This can be costly for smaller advertisers. Has anyone done or know of any empirical data on the average percentage of leads generated via phone call versus online form on a landing page. I know it can vary from business type to business type (and the form layout itself will have a modest effect.) More specifically I'm interested in the professional business services industry such as Engineering, Surveying, Commercial Real Estate, Accounting, etc. So for example if you conversion rate for online form submission on a landing page is 3%, and your phone number is prominently displayed, what would be a realistic ballpark estimate for the actual conversion rate including phone calls? 25% more? 50% more? Double? "Ballpark" is the keyword here.  Just seeing if anyone has measured this and what their results were.

Date of Review on productpage - important for SEO?
Hi Have a questions. We have lots of products on the website. A lot have reviews and some do not.
Conversion Rate Optimization | | RetailClicks
Is it harming that review dates (post dates) are older then let's say 1-2 months? Cause we do not have fresh reviews every month. So is it better to then let the dates behind and not show? Or is it better to show 'old' dates. How important are fresh review dates on the website? We have hreview tags around the reviews and dates.0 -
Google Analytics: Do 'Goals' actually work?
Hi, Hoping someone can clarify this for me. I've set a goal up whereby the rule is to pick up all pages with "Thank-you" in the destination URL (regular expression). So, when someone fills out a form, it will count as a lead. I'm about 8 weeks in to the campaign now and measuring the last 4 weeks I've had a total of 30 goals completed. I have two issues with this and I really hope someone can help clarify: Using a custom report I can see that I've actually had 52 Visits to the Thank-You pages, 49 Unique Visits and 60 pageviews. Where is Google getting the goals from? I have 51 leads in my inbox from the campaign so far. So, much closer to the above stats in the custom report than in the Goal report. Why is this? Thanking you in advance!

Adwords Conversion Optimiser
OK Mozers! Here's the situation (my parents went away on a weeks vacation...) • I am managing an online furniture retail website Infurn .com • Our budget is 500 euro per day and we need basically 20% cost per sale and im hovering at 30 - 35% • I recently was given the opportunity to participate in The Conversion Optimiser which allows you to set a desired CPA and Google works its magic geting you that target by adjusting your bids accordingly using historical campaign data. • Is this something I should use? Or should I continue to hone my ad groups, bids, products, landing pages, and ad copy until I reach my 15 - 20% CPA goal? Thanks!

Setting Up Ecommerce Tracking for Google Analytics?
Hello SEOmoz members, this is my first forum post, so i hope that it goes well. my question for today is, How can i set up set up Ecommerce Tracking for Google Analytics, if my website Does NOT use a Shopping Cart tool? I am currently SEO'ing a couple of Translation Service websites, and the Ordering System is a little different from the regular Shopping Cart tool that you would normally find on a Product website. so far i have added the analytics code to all the pages so i can track my SEO efforts, but is there no way to track the sales from each visitor if the website only provides Quotes? the website has a Quote form setup into 3 steps, and at the end of step 3, a general price is generated for the visitor and a CSR is supposed to contact them to completete the order. we can normally see the total orders and clients in our own system, but does anyone have any way to combine SEO with this information, like how google analytics Ecommerce can? if anyone could provide any helpful information, i would be very Greatful. thank you!
