Why are URLs like www.site.com/#something being indexed?

So, everything after a hash (#) is not supposed to be crawled and indexed. Has that changed?
I see a clients site with all sorts of URLs indexed like ...
http://www.website.com/#!category/c11f
For the above URL, I thought it was the same as simply http://www.website.com/. But they aren't, they're getting indexed and all the content on the pages with these hash tags are getting crawled as well.

Hash Exclamation (#!) is a signal sent to google that the page (or section of the page) is coded using AJAX and that there are elements hidden that needs a ajax functionality to be called for google to see all the crawlable links.

Help! added WWW to wordpress site and now lost SEO ranking
Hi there Everyone! I have recently added a www to my wordpress website by going to settings>general and adding "www" to the wordpress address and the site address. Strange URL redirecting to my new site
Hi all, I recently relaunched a site on a brand new URL - www.boardwarehouse.co.uk. I've spent the last couple of weeks building some backlinks as well as developing a basic content strategy. We've started ranking for a few of our less competitive keywords which is great, however there's a strange site which either redirects or is mirroring our content. I'm at a complete loss as to what's causing this to happen and what i can do to stop it. On the attachment - my content is top and second. The fourth result is the offending site. URLs with dashes between words or nothing at all? ( ../some-content vs. ../somecontent)
Here's a quick and easy question: Is there any problem with not using dashes in between words for URLs? Obviously the readability factor is a concern, but from a search engine standpoint? Thanks in advance!

What directory should a site go in (url structure)?
Hi All, The is the first actual SEO campaign i've worked on and I had a few question about where the site should live on the server and url structure. The site is in WP and we're using Yoast SEO. Anyway the site lives in a a folder called Coastal, which is a child of the WWW folder. So the permalink of the homepage is mcoastalwindows.com/coastal/. The URL is mycoastalwindows.com. The thing is I can still get to the homepage or any of the pages on the site by typing in the /coastal/. Another example is permalink mycoastalwndows.com/coastal/siding/ and url mycoastalwindows.com/siding/. The urls always display without the /coastal/, so I'm not too worried about people linking to them, but Yoast puts a canonical element to the permalink and always includes the /coastal/. Also I'm seeing that Google displays a lot of the urls with the /coastal/, which is an issue seeing as we don't link to the pages that way. My original thought was to solve this at the source and just move everything out of the coastal directory, but the developer swears that it's more secure being in another folder especially with WP. What would you all do and what is best practice? Would you move everything out of the coastal folder, 301 re-direct, do something with. htaccess, or another solution? Appreciate the input thanks!

Homepage de-indexed, rest of site all there...
This is a random issue that I've been trying to get to the bottom of over the last few months. First I thought it might be that I have a spammy host, so I changed it. My site loads a little faster but the homepage is still totally non-visible. Other pages and posts index no problem.. It's really quite frustrating. http://bit.ly/1hA8DqV Any suggestions welcome. How do we ensure our new dynamic site gets indexed?
Just wondering if you can point me in the right direction. We're building a 'dynamically generated' website, so basically, pages don’t technically exist until the visitor types in the URL (or clicks an on page link), the pages are then created on the fly for the visitor. The major concern I’ve got is that Google won’t be able to index the site, as the pages don't exist until they're 'visited', and to top it off, they're rendered in JSPX, which makes things tricky to ensure the bots can view the content We’re going to build/submit a sitemap.xml to signpost the site for Googlebot but are there any other options/resources/best practices Mozzers could recommend for ensuring our new dynamic website gets indexed?

What are the considerations in setting language within the url of multilingual sites?
Is it good practice to use Language-Agnostic + LOCALE=en +LOCALE=fr (as per example below)? If not what is the best way to determine language within a url and why? For example, today we use: http://www.canadapost.ca/cpo/mc/default.jsf (goes to language last used by user) http://www.canadapost.ca/cpo/mc/default.jsf?LOCALE=fr (forces a French-launguage page) http://www.canadapost.ca/cpo/mc/default.jsf?LOCALE=en (forces and English-language page) I think you can get tell Google about these parameters through Webmaster tools to help them properly crawl and understand your content, but if we had the opportunity to change it what should we do?
