132 pages reported as having Duplicate Page Content but I'm not sure where to go to fix the problems?
-
I am seeing “Duplicate Page Content” coming up in our
reports on SEOMOZ.orgHere’s an example:
http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/product/williams-sound-ppa-r35-e
http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/product/aphex-230-master-voice-channel-processor
http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/product/AT-AE4100.prod
These three pages are for completely unrelated products.
They are returning “200” status codes, but are being identified as having
duplicate page content. It appears these are all going to the home page, but it’s
an odd version of the home page because there’s no title. I would understand if these pages 301-redirected to the home page if they were obsolete products, but it's not a 301-redirect. The referring page is
listed as: http://www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/cd-duplicatorsNone of the 3 links in question appear anywhere on that page. It's puzzling. We have 132 of these. Can anyone help me figure out
why this is happening and how best to fix it? Thanks! -
As Irvine Weiss is mentioning the way to do it is to pick your best page and do a canonical tag directing to it. here is a great read:http://www.seomoz.org/blog/canonical-url-tag-the-most-important-advancement-in-seo-practices-since-sitemaps

Thanks Donnie. This answers part of my question. But I am still wondering about three different product pages being diverted somehow to this odd version of the homepage. How could this be accomplished from a technical standpoint without doing a 301-redirect?
-
He is correct. those two URLs in your post are duplicate
decide on the best url to represent and canonical the dupe pages to that URL and your issue should be fixed. 132 pages should take you a few hours probably.
Also your title tag dynamic insertion is broken and you are missing meta descriptions:
<title>CCI Solutions - <%=title%>title> <META name="<a class="attribute-value">description</a>" content="">
-
If you copy and paste the text into google you will find that:
<cite>www.ccisolutions.com/StoreFront/category/cd-duplicators</cite>andwww.ccisound.com/StoreFront/category/cd-duplicators have the same exact content on them.
This is duplicate content.
if you paste this line of text into google: "When it comes to Acoustics, Sound, Video and Lighting Systems for Church, Presentation & Entertainment Venues expectations are always high and success is never negotiable. That's why prominent venues have turned to CCI Solutions for creative answers to their complex challenges."
You will find several URLs with the same content.

Best way to fix duplicate content issues
Another question for the Moz Community. One of my clients has 4.5k duplicate content issues. For example: http://www.example.co.uk/blog and http://www.example.co.uk/index.php?route=blog/blog/listblog&year=2017. Most of the issues are coming from product pages. My initial thoughts are to set up 301 redirects in the first instance and if the issue persists, add canonical tags. Is this the best way of tackling this issue?

'domain:example.com/' is this line with a '/' at the end of the domain valid in a disavow report file ?
Hi everyone Just out of curiosity, what would happen if in my disavow report I have this line : domain:example.com**/** instead of domain:example.com as recommended by google. I was just wondering if adding a / at the end of a domain would automatically render the line invalid and ignored by Google's disavow backlinks tool. Many thanks for your thoughts

Results Pages Duplication - What to do?
Hi all, I run a large, well established hotel site which fills a specific niche. Last February we went through a redesign which implemented pagination and lots of PHP / SQL wizzardy. This has left us, however, with a bit of a duplication problem which I'll try my best to explain! Imagine Hotel 1 has a pool, as well as a hot tub. This means that Hotel 1 will be in the search results of both 'Hotels with Pools' and 'Hotels with Hot Tubs', with exactly the same copy, affiliate link and thumbnail picture in the search results. Now imagine this issue occurring hundreds of times across the site and you have our problem, especially since this is a Panda-hit site. We've tried to keep any duplicate content away from our landing pages with some success but it's just all those pesky PHP paginated pages which doing us in (e.g. Hotels/Page-2/?classifications[]263=73491&classifcations[]742=24742 and so on) I'm thinking that we should either a) completely noindex all of the PHP search results or b) move us over to a Javascript platform. Which would you guys recommend? Or is there another solution which I'm overlooking? Any help most appreciated!

How to protect against duplicate content?
I just discovered that my company's 'dev website' (which mirrors our actual website, but which is where we add content before we put new content to our actual website) is being indexed by Google. My first thought is that I should add a rel=canonical tag to the actual website, so that Google knows that this duplicate content from the dev site is to be ignored. Is that the right move? Are there other things I should do? Thanks!

Duplicate Page Titles and Content
I have a site that has a lot of contact modules. So basically each section/page has a contact person and when you click the contact button it brings up a new window with form to submit and then ends with a thank you page. All of the contact and thank you pages are showing up as duplicate page titles and content. Is this something that needs to be fixed even if I am not using them to target keywords?
