G Analytics Appears to Show Bing but not Yahoo Paid Traffic
-
I am running ads across Bing / Yahoo network. I have set up a unique destination URL for these Bing / Yahoo Ads, using Google Campaigns URL Builder. However, in Google Analytics it appears to keep showing as organic traffic from Yahoo. What may be going wrong here?

It may be that some of your destination URLs aren't tagged with the utm parameters. I forget if you can do it in Bing, but I know in Adwords you can set destination URLs on keywords or placements as well, which will override ad destination URLs, so you may need to check on all of those and make sure they're all tagged properly.

thx, John. I appreciate this. I do not care for knowing Yahoo vs Bing CPC breakdown. However, right now I may in BingAds account see 100 clicks whereas Google analytics may show 70 clicks. So, 30 clicks get included in either Yahoo or Bing organic. I used the Google URL Campaign Builder and have those URL's as destination URL's in the BIng Ads.
I just went to Yahoo and clicked on 1 of my ads: the coded URL (I guess what is called "UTM parameters" based on what you say) is indeed the landing page.
I have called Bing: they say "we don't know about Google" and I have called Google and they say "We don't know about Bing"......

In Bing ads, you can't pick to target only Bing or only Yahoo, you have to target both at once. Because of this, knowing how Yahoo performs vs. Bing isn't really actionable. Someone has set this up in Google Analytics by setting up a separate profile and adding a filter (see here) if you're really interested to see the breakdown.
When you click one of your ads from Yahoo, are you seeing the utm parameters on the resulting URL? If so, then there shouldn't be a Yahoo-specific problem. If you're using something like utm_source=Bing on the destination URL, then all of your Bing/Yahoo paid search will be bucketed under Bing in your GA reporting.

Session and conversion data missing from AdWords campaigns in Analytics
Hi all, For a client of ours, we're not seeing session & conversion data for AdWords campaigns in Analytics. We are seeing click & cost data. Adwords and Analytics are linked and autotagging is enabled. The site where we're experiencing this problem is www.maxifleur-plantes-artificielles.fr. It's a Magento-based store with the Web Cooking Universal Analytics extension installed. The bulk of AdWords traffic is landing on the page www.maxifleur-plantes-artificielles.fr/plantes-artificielles, which has no active redirects that could remove the ?gclid parameter for as far as I can tell. Yet, click IDs that I manually tested won't show up in the reports either. Mid April, all traffic aside from direct traffic just disappeared from the reports. Google's Tag Assistant gives a lot of errors, but in the source code the snippet looks just fine and we don't have problems with other web shops that use the aforementioned extension. Suggestions as to what could be the problem are most welcome. Thanks! Bas

Do organic penaltys affect paid prominence?
This is a hypothetical question, we're pitching to a potential client tomorrow and I noticed they currently rely almost entirely on AdWords but engage in some pretty sketchy link building schemes. And so that got me thinking, is there any evidence to show that when a site is penalised for their organic results it has an affect of any kind of paid searches?

BOTW, Yahoo Directory and Joeant - Unnatural linking, surely?
Hi, I have been reading with interest that many SEOmoz forum members still believe that a link in BOTW, Yahoo Directory and Joeant can still add value to a linking strategy. It's my understanding that the Penguin update was designed to stop unnatural linking and link buying but Google does still seem to place some kind of value (although potentially diminished) in these directories despite them being pretty much exclusively paid for links. What am I missing here and in a money no object world would you guys still consider them part of a good linking strategy? Many thanks

Google Adwords Conversion Tracking Code Help - Not Showing Conversions
Hi, all. I am having issues with a clients website. They have their website developed by a company http://www.flowerstoreinabox.com.au/ my clients website is http://www.flawlessflowers.com.au the google adwords conversion tracking code has been added to their site. It measures all details as far as ads clicked on, etc.. the only part that is not been measured is the conversions of the adwords campaign. So I cannot see if the ads are successful or what their conversion % is. I have looked at the code on the thank you page and the google adwords conversion code is present on the thank you page after the sale. I am not a coder and so not sure what to look at if all the details on the checkout page exist in the code to measure the adwords conversion ecommerce transactions correctly. I have provided a link to the source code of the competed order page. If someone could look at the code and provide any assistance I would appreciate it. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16973368/7 may adwords flawless flowers.txt I am also happy to provide you access to the google analytics account if required just give me your email address to set it up.
