Does Google prefer YouTube video's embedded on a site or put in a Pop up image class for SEO purposes

Our company is an eCommerce site for aftermarket automotive accessories, we have been posting videos on our site. On some pages we have videos embedded from Youtube and on other pages the videos are embedded but in a Popup Image Class.
Below I'll provide an example of one way we put the popup image class on our site

Now concerning SEO would it be better just to embed a video the traditional way or use the popup image class? The reason I ask is because the popup image class hides the video on the page with an image on top then once you click that image the video pops up. Can Google still crawl/see the video?

The answer would be - neither.
It's not quite correct to describe something as being preferable to Google in this instance (because ultimately Google want everyone to put all their videos on YouTube then embed them everywhere so they can make loads of money in ad revenue), but in terms of SEO for an eCommerce site, and assuming your videos are to some extend product focused pieces - you should avoid YouTube altogether, because it can cannibalise your rankings, while giving you very little benefit in terms of seeding on YouTube.com (people don't go to YouTube to find products to buy...)

So, your best bet is using a third party paid hosting platform, e.g. Wistia, Vzaar etc... where you can retain full control of the videos and use them to drive traffic to your site and generate leads/sales.
In terms of implementation, It probably won't matter a great deal, as long as your videos are visible to Googlebot on pageload and not delivered dynamically with JavaScript etc..
All you need to do then to get the rich snippet is submit a video sitemap.

Google+ Brand Page in Knowledge Graph
We've been unsuccessfully trying to get our brand's Google+ page listed in the Knowledge Graph for our brand. I believe that our markup on our website is correct. Requirement full bleed image share Google+?
Hi everyone, Im sort of a Google+ nutter and I wanted to figure out exactly what is required for a full bleed image to appear for +1 share on the page itself. I got it figured out and I think it requires: canonical url og:image image wider then 506px type article or page (microdata format) But sometimes it seems that pages without a canonical url still show full bleed image when shared as link when I insert the url directly into a google+ post. My question is if this could be a cached version of the page where it had a canonical url? Don't really know if that anyone is interested but I made a simple tool that checks if a page meets requirements for having a full bleed image when share as link on Google+. Think I nailed it pretty close but can't seem to get the full bleed image to appear for the tool itself do:) Please dont ask. Google+ Doesn't Show my Post Title
When I create a new blog post and link to it on Google+, the thumbnail & description are correct, but the HTML title it pulls in is just the company name. I have the proper HTML title tag and OpenGraph tagging on the page too, but lately (last 3 posts) it just shows company name: Here's an example. Is a Tumblr company blog good for SEO?
Hi, We are in the process of gaining coverage and visibility over our SaaS service. And one of the work we're doing is, very much standardly, having our pro blog with content. I see that most of companies/people are using a WordPress or a Blogger blog to achieve this. Another school is choosing Tumblr, which is a rising star. But then I can't help to feel that there is something wrong with Tumblr. It doesn't appear in Google search at all... It is never in the top of the searches. And sometimes even search for an exact match of a known post extract won't show the Tumblr link into google Search. What it means to me is that Tumblr has a very poor SEO-friendly policy. I was also reading in different posts that it was indeed the case. Tumblr is bad for SEO. I can't help but feeling confused and not really understanding how such a big social blogging engine couldn't get into google search... Or are they going twitter-like? I guess my question will be: "Is it good to have chosen Tumblr, or should I switch to either WordPress.com or Blogger using a custom DNS?" Thanks for reading.

Myth or Fact: Social Media Dashboards Bad for SEO?
I want to start using HootSuite to pre-schedule Facebook/Twitter updates, but am plagued by nagging concerns because I have heard that HootSuite may impact SEO in a negative way. Is this truth or bull? If it i true, how so, specifically? And can anything be done to mitigate the negative SEO factors? Also, does anyone prefer another dashboard over HootSuite? Hi everyone, i need some help with this rel=author and google auth which has come into place. Social Media Plugins advice - Google+ Pages - what is best for SEO?
I'm seeking some social media plugin advice, in relation to SEO. This may not be possible to answer yet, or ever? But it could be worth a discussion. As far as i can see, there are two main forms of plugins (taking facebook as an example): 1 that directly connects a user to your brand page on said platform (eg like us on facebook) 1 that allows a user to 'like', 'share', 'recommend' the page that you are on as a sign of respect and/or sharing content For a home page, I am confused as to which one to use, without filling out the whole page with plugins. One objective is to increase fan numbers, the other is to increase content sharing, and possibly SEO? I've noticed that Google has been returning some personalised results based on mine, or my google+ connections +1's. So to the question... Do you think having more fans on the new Google Pages for business accounts will improve SEO to the same, if not higher weighting than a +1 does? and therefore is it more important to get more brand page followers, or +1's of the homepage?
