Internal link structure, find out if there are any internal links to this page
-
When i use this url in open site explorer it says that there are no internal links:
http://goo.gl/d2s6tJ
Page Authority is also 1, it should be higher of there are any internal links to it right? But i am very sure there are links to this url on my website. For example on this URL:
http://goo.gl/ucixRHHow certain can i be of this? Because if i can be very certain, than we have a internal linkstructure problem on our entire site i believe.

Wilco,
If they crawled that page, the PA should be correct. Based on what I see external of Moz, it is.

I think the reason why MOZ is not getting the Page Authority right it's because MOZ did not crawl our entire site.
I'm getting a warning to upgrade my account because the crawl limit of 50.000 pages has reached.
Does Moz crawl/index pages with NOINDEX in meta?
In google we have 54.000 pages indexed. -
There is only one and there would be no increase in PA (which is not a Google metric but a Moz metric). Google is much later than other software in showing the links in GWMT. As to the PA it is as I said earlier, you have one link from a page with low PA and over 200 links. There is no way that is worth increasing the PA to 2. Sorry, just a reality. As you get more links and maybe some external ones and time, etc. the PA should increase. Hang in there.

indeed, it is very odd. Even if Screaming Frog says there are links, it looks like google does'nt recognize them. There are many more links to that particular page.. And i does'nt get PA.
The problem is that this example is not the only problem, there are many many pages that do not get any PA. These pages have many internal links too.I can't figure why google does'nt recognize there links and give a PA.

I used the Moz tool also and at first I showed one internal link and posted that and then, when I came back it wasn't showing. It may have been picking up the G translate??. It does show in ScreamingFrog and, I used your site search went to the page with the link to the product page and it obviously worked. In SF it showed the urls as 200 so no problem there.
I am not sure why it would not show on the Moz tools. I know some links won't show in OSE, but I have never had an occurrence like this.
You do have an internal link, if you are to increase your PA you need to get more links to the page. I caution you about the overuse of internal links. I realize there are two schools on quantity: some say, where it used to be 100 as a limit now many more are acceptable. Personally, I would not want pages with hundreds of internal links. If you go to GWMT, and click on Search Traffic, you will see internal links. Click that and you will be able to look at individual URLs. That might assist you even more.
LMK if that works or you need further assistance.

Hello Robert,
I used the MOZbar before and saw the orange highlights.
But when i view the attributes and link tabs in MOZbar i can't see an incoming internal link. Attached you'll find an screenshot of my MOZbar view. Maybe i miss something? Also, i'm very sure there should be a lot of incoming links to the http://goo.gl/d2s6tJ url.

Wilco,
Your page http://www.badkamerxxl.nl/merken/D links to /f/merk-damixa. Using the Moz tool, if you are on the referring page, I used the link finding tool (pen with orange for internal links) and it is an internal link. If you click it you land on the appropriate url.
Hope that helps you out, but if you want a clear picture of link structure, you could always use Screaming Frog. (The link to that page shows in screaming frog and shows over two hundred links away from the page linking to it.)
Robert
PS With one internal link from a page with a huge amount of links on it, you will not necessarily have a PA greater than one. Each link on the linking page divides the value of the page.

How to make my good sub-page rank ahead of my generic home page?
I have an ecommerce site for the clothes drying racks my family business makes, and it sells a few other laundry items also. It's about 5 years old. We used to rank on the first page for basic phrases like "clothes drying rack" and "umbrella clothesline". About 1.5 years ago we fell hard in the rankings. Since then "umbrella clothesline" has moved back to the first page, but "clothes drying rack" is stuck on the 3rd page and always with the result being the generic homepage instead of the good sub-page (which used to rank on the first page) that really shows-n-tells about our drying rack. Here are the three pages I am talking about. Home page = http://www.bestdryingrack.com/ Drying rack page = http://www.bestdryingrack.com/clothes-drying-rack-main.html and umbrella clothesline page = http://www.bestdryingrack.com/umbrella-clotheslines.html Any ideas on how to get the drying rack page to start ranking well again? (hopefully better than the generic homepage ranks) A little technical background: the Moz campaign on this site says that the home page has a PA = 42 with 190 LRD's and 344 external links. Both the umbrella clothesline page and the clothes drying rack page have almost equal statistics of PA = 35 with 20 LRD's and 23 external links. My anchor text distribution is maybe unbalanced. The drying rack page has 15 external links with the anchor of "Clothes Drying Rack". But the umbrella clothesline page has 14 external links with the anchor of "outdoor umbrella clothesline" and it ranks on the first page for that search. I can't figure out how to get OSE to tell me anchor text stats for just the homepage and not the whole site since www.bestdryingrack.com/index.html 301's to the plain www.bestdryingrack.com (if you know how, please share) What's wrong with my poor neglected clothes drying rack page? The only way I can get it to show up on the first page is to do a real specific search like "round wooden clothes drying rack" Your help could save a faltering family business. Thank you!

Best practices for controlling link juice with site structure
I'm trying to do my best to control the link juice from my home page to the most important category landing pages on my client's e-commerce site. I have a couple questions regarding how to NOT pass link juice to insignificant pages and how best to pass juice to my most important pages. INSIGNIFICANT PAGES: How do you tag links to not pass juice to unimportant pages. For example, my client has a "Contact" page off of there home page. Now we aren't trying to drive traffic to the contact page, so I'm worried about the link juice from the home page being passed to it. Would you tag the Contact link with a "no follow" tag, so it doesn't pass the juice, but then include it in a sitemap so it gets indexed? Are there best practices for this sort of stuff?

Indexed pages and current pages - Big difference?
Our website shows ~22k pages in the sitemap but ~56k are showing indexed on Google through the "site:" command. Firstly, how much attention should we paying to the discrepancy? If we should be worried what's the best way to find the cause of the difference? The domain canonical is set so can't really figure out if we've got a problem or not?

302 Redirect of Home Page - Lost Link Juice?
I've got a new client whose site is set up to redirect the home page to another URL, like www.example.com, redirecting to www.example.com/home/, using a 302 redirect. Am I correct in assuming that links pointing directly to www.example.com are not passing their full value because it is being redirected with a 302 rather than 301? (In a nutshell, I want to make sure this resource is still accurate: http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/redirection)

Paging Links Code - Best Way?
Currently we are using previous 1 2 3 next for our link to other inventory pages, with some variation of this javascript code javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$phMain$dlPagesTop$ctl01$lnkPageTop','') . Can search engines even index the other pages with this javascript? Is there a better way to do this?

If a page isn't linked to or directly sumitted to a search engine can it get indexed?
Hey Guys, I'm curious if there are ways a page can get indexed even if the page isn't linked to or hasn't been submitted to a search engine. To my knowledge the following page on our website is not linked to and we definitely didn't submit it to Google - but it's currently indexed: <cite>takelessons.com/admin.php/adminJobPosition/corp</cite> Anyone have any ideas as to why or how this could have happened? Hopefully I'm missing something obvious 🙂 Thanks, Jon

Page rank 2 for home page, 3 for service pages
Hey guys, I have noticed with one of our new sites, the home page is showing page rank two, whereas 2 of the internal service pages are showing as 3. I have checked with both open site explorer and yahoo back links and there are by far more links to the home page. All quality and relevant directory submissions and blog comments. The site is only 4 months old, I wonder if anyone can shed any light on the fact 2 of the lesser linked pages are showing higher PR? Thanks 🙂
