Internal links best practices
-
In looking at the inbound links to a client’s Home page, I see that the link from each page of the website back to the Home page is an image, and the ALT text is “Home.” I have a few questions about this, and would appreciate help understanding best practices:
--Does it matter that the link back to the Home page is an image (presumably the client’s logo)?
-- If we keep the image link, wouldn’t it be better to use “client’s company name” as ALT text rather than “Home”?
--Should I recommend using an HTML link back to the Home page, and using the company name as anchor text?
(I don't think it's relevant, but the site is built in Drupal.)
Thanks!

Thank you for the info, Nick. The link is the logo in the header, so mousing over it brings up "Home." Most sites don't bother with the ALT tag, but since it is being used, we might as well make it a bit more informative with the company name. The company name isn't well branded, so little things like this can only help.

Where on the page is this link? If it is the logo in the header, use the company name as the alt. If it is a text link in the footer or somewhere that is site wide, company name is probably best.
If it is in a navigation menu, it really depends on how that menu is set up, but there isn't really anything wrong with "Home". A lot of people don't bother putting a Home link in the menu since the header logo usually goes to the home page. But a lot of users don't know they can click on the logo to go home, so think about what type of readers will be visiting the site and whether or not they will be able to find their way around.
Home page navigational links don't make a huge difference regarding ranking most of the time, unless you have stuffed keywords into the alt tag or used the same keyword repeatedly instead of Home or the company name. Home, company name or simply the logo with the company name as the alt are all kind of interchangeable.

Best Practice for www and non www
How is the best way to handle all the different variations of a website in terms of www | non www | http | https? In Google Search Console, I have all 4 versions and I have selected a preference. In Open Site Explorer I can see that the www and non www versions are treated differently with one group of links pointing to each version of the same page. This gives a different PA score. eg. http://mydomain.com DA 25 PA 35 http://www.mydomain.com DA 19 PA 21 Each version of the home page having it's only set of links and scores. Should I try and "consolidate" all the scores into one page? Should I set up redirects to my preferred version of the website? Thanks in advance

Youtube SEO Best Practices
Does anyone know where to find a list of SEO best practices for Youtube? Specifically...does anyone have thoughts on the SEO benefits of an @domain.com login vs @gmail.com login? Or is adding my url to the "Associated website" channel setting sufficient for SEO purposes?

Feefo review links
Hi guys, so we are on feefo and noticed links coming in per review for different anchor text, this will be done on mass due to the amount of reviews we will get - this is all natural but in SEO site-wide links are typically not. How if at all do you think Google will react to this?

Quality links are beneficial, but are neutral links detrimental?
So obviously a link profile featuring quality / authoritative / relavant in-bound links is preferable, but here's my question: If I'm starting work on a brand new domain, should I build links that one would consider neutral (i.e. from a non-spammy, but unrelated site) or should I not bother and only focus on quality links? Thanks

Too many links on my site
Hi there everybody, I am a total SEO newbie and i am burning with questions. I had my site crawled and found out that it contains too many links. The reason is that it is a site where I constantly write news and articles and each one of them is a new Joomla item, thus a new link. I actually thought lots of content is good for SEO. How am I supposed to reduce the link amount?
