Problem of possible duplicate title tag and description. Help me!

Hi everybody,
I'm optimizing this huge website that has a lot of identical categories for differente locations.
I'm trying to find a smart way to write title and description for these categories, changing the location as a variable on the title and description phrase. Here some examples:
Title: Attractions in [CITY]. Sightseeings, monuments and museums in [CITY].
Description: Find travel ideas and suggestions for [CITY]. On [NAME OF THE WEBSITE] you can find a lot of attractions, monuments and sightseeing off the beaten path in [CITY].
Changing only the name of the CITY on these Titles and Descriptions, am I running the risk of duplicate title and description?

Having worked on a very similar project (18,000+ pages,) I know exactly what you are saying, but no, Google won't penalise for this.
What I ended up doing is coming up with about 20 templates that I could use and spread around the pages that faced this issue. That way we were able to at least have some variation.
Perhaps you might not get the same benefit as if each had been hand written for maximum exposure, but that is all you will need to worry about.

Titles tags: Smart to split brand name composed of multiple keywords?
Hello, We've been following the best practices outlined in this Moz article for title tags for a long time, however I have a question about the spelling of the brand name when the brand name is composed of keywords. For example, let's say your company is called FitnessGearUSA and your website url is www.FitnessGearUSA.com. How would you spell the brand name in the title tag? In a single word 'FitnessGearUSA' or in 3 words 'Fitness Gear USA'. We've been using the first approach for a long time, but I am starting to think that the second approach would be better, especially when the customer might include a single keyword that's part of the brane name in his search For example, a product page title tag would then look like this:

Model ABC Weight Lifting Bar | Fitness Gear USA I am inclined to think that this page would rank better for a search like:

Meta Title Tags - Quick question!
Hi all, Our category Meta Title Tags are a little woeful and so I'm in the process of rewriting them. Let's say you have a product for sale.... some inkjet cartridges for a Canon BJ10V printer for example. In an effort to keep things concise I was thinking that for this category I should have the meta title set simply as: 'Canon BJ10V Inkjet Cartridges' and perhaps our company name after this text (and a pipe delimiter) This takes us just under 50 characters which is ideal but doesn't include any real keyword variation and will result in the company name being duplicated at the tail of the title tag on 6,000 odd pages. A large number of my competitors have title tags along the lines of: 'Canon BJ10V Cheap Inkjet Cartridges for Canon BJ-10V Ink Printers' I understand the reasoning behind this but does the variation of keywords compensate for the fact that the title looks spammy (to both humans and Search Engines). What would you do? Keep it clean and concise or stuff the title full of keywords. In the event of the former would you include the company name in each title in the knowledge they would be well under 50 characters without? Thanks for your help.

Duplicate url problem causing me problems
Hi, i am working with a joomla site and i am using the sh404sef plugin. I have contacted the developer of the plugin who has not been very helpful so i am hoping to get help here. The problem i am having is, the description of the page showing in google listings is not the same as what i have put into the meta tag description. for example, for this page http://www.clairehegarty.co.uk/virtual-gastric-band-with-hypnotherapy the meta tag description should be Gastric Band Hypnotherapy to lose weight guaranteed. Free Gastric Band Hypnosis Consultations with Well Known Gastric Hypno Band expert as seen on TV. Hypno Gastric Band Works. If you would like a slimmer and healthier body with all the benefits of weight loss surgery without any of the risks that can be ... now one thing i have noticed is: in the sh404sef control panel, i have noticed that i have the following index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=190&id=153&lang=en&view=article the above is the original url from day one but then i have the one below which is not the original index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=190&catid=150&id=153&lang=en&view=article i keep deleting the above which is not the original but it keeps coming back and i have been told this could be the fault can anyone please help me with this and solve how to stop it from coming back so google shows the correct description please.

Filter Tag Duplicate Content E-Commerce Issue
Hello, I just launched a new site for a client but am seeing some duplicate content issues in the campaign crawl. It has to do with the drill-down, filter "tags" that helps users find the product they are looking for. You can see them in the sidebar here: http://www.ssmd.com/shop/ In my crawl report this is what is showing up as duplicate content (attached image). How do I keep these widgets from generating duplicate content on the site? Also, not sure if it's important or not, but I am using Wordpress, WooCommerce and Yoast's SEO Tool. Description and Title keyword Not showing in Google SERP?
It appears our description and title have disappeared in Goggle and Bing search results. We currently did a update to Magento 1.7 and the robots.txt included this: User-agent: * Disallow: / But that is fixed in Google Webmaster tools and everything else looks good. Google indexing tags help
Hey everyone, So yesterday someone pointed out to me that Google is indexing tags and that will likely hurt search engine results. I just did a "site:thetechblock.com" and I notice that tags are still being pulled. http://d.pr/i/WmE6 Today, I went into my Yoast settings and checked "noindex,follow" tags in the Taxomomies settings. I just want to make sure what I'm doing is right. http://d.pr/i/zmbd Thanks guys
