Why are my page titles not being honored?
-
If you view source you will see my actual title tag http://www.sqlsentry.com/products/performance-advisor/sql-server-performance
The google results are showing a completely different title tag that we do not want used. This was working properly and I'm not understanding how it got changed. Thanks!

I've definitely found that Google seems to take more liberties giving you the title tag of your choosing when your title tag is too long. I also like the pixel width guidelines over the character recommendations. Your title tag is currently 589 pixels wide, vs the recommended 466 maximum.
Fun tool to test it out with: http://www.webshoptimizer.com/page-title-pixel-meter/
Of course, you could change it and create a nice short title tag, and Google may still choose to show something else.

There is no way to force Google to use your page title when it displays the search results. Google can change your title for different seearch queries if it thinks your url fits but the title doesn't. That being said you can look at optimising your title to below 70 characters and making sure it is as natural as possible. I can see your page title is 77 characters. Google has recently started only displaying a set pixel width after a redesign - you will find this recent article by doctor Pete useful - http://moz.com/blog/new-title-tag-guidelines-preview-tool - so the potential title displayed has been further limited in character length, but you can test it with the tool..Doctor Pete states he is comfortable with a length of 55 characters to be dispalyed fully but remember character length can vary quite a bit..Also remember Google still process data past the cut off!

Good day! That can be a really frustrating experience, particularly when you've worked hard to write your titles. Alan Bleiweiss gave a good answer on here in the past and it's still relevant - http://moz.com/community/q/why-is-google-changing-my-title-tags

Duplicate Page Titles Across Portfolio Items
Hi, Quick question about duplicate page titles. I have a few duplicate pages where I've got lots of portfolio items under the same category, lets call it a portfolio of kangaroos. I can see there are separate URLs for each of the pages, i.e, www.blahblah.com/portfolio/kangaroos and www.blahblah.com/portfolio/kangaroos/2, but they both have the same page title, i.e, Kangaroos Portfolio | Domain and it's coming up in Moz as a medium priority duplicate page title error. Where in WordPress can I change the page title for the second page of portfolio items? Thanks very much! Tom.

For example if you are on the airport transfer page it will carry the value so its prefilled in (.php?prt=Airport Transfers). The problem is it's coming up as a duplicate page however its just the 1. Changing title tag in wordpress media pages
Hello! I have a problem of duplicate title on 59 pages in Worpress. I Guess it happened after a recent WP update, because, suddenly, I got a peak of 59 from zero in a day. The SeoMoz crawl report states that there are 59 duplicate title. As you may see in the picture those are all media pages, whose title is written really badly with the formula postname/filename/blogTitle, ending up with trunkated, too long, title tags, that result in duplicate page title. How can I simply hide these mediapages or sculpting the title tag the way I want? I am using all-in-one-seo WP plugin, which doesn't seem to provide a solution. Thank you all! Good Seo Titles
Hi. Mybsite is www.theprinterdepo.com and I am trying to find a good template for my product/page titles. Many users search our products by the product model: something like Q2121X. Some other users search by: hp 1320 printer or just 1320 printer. They will almost never search for hp 1320 new, or hp 1320 refurbished. My website is developed in magento, and we have a SEO plugin in which I can put a template for the URL and also a template for the product title. I was thinking for title and URL. title + condition + productmodel However many users search for: "refurbished printers" and maybe its better that our products say something like this: HP 1320 Refurbished Printer, instead of: HP 1320 Printer - Refurbished - Q2121X Please let me know your suggestions.

SEOMoz is indicating I have 40 pages with duplicate content, yet it doesn't list the URL's of the pages???
When I look at the Errors and Warnings on my Campaign Overview, I have a lot of "duplicate content" errors. When I view the errors/warnings SEOMoz indicates the number of pages with duplicate content, yet when I go to view them the subsequent page says no pages were found... Any ideas are greatly welcomed! Thanks Marty K.
