Hi Sam,
To launch a new international version targeting a new country you have 3 options: ccTLDs, sub-directories and sub-domains, as shown here. All of them have pros and cons:
- ccTLDs: The best to geolocate and ideally if you have the resources this would be the way to go. However it might be harder at the beginning to grow their popularity as they will be independent domains (won't be able to inherit the popularity of the current, older domain). Nonetheless, by using the ccTLD search engines will identify in a much more direct way that you're targeting to another country.
- Sub-directories: Under the main domain, you would need to enable one for each additional country. With them you'll be able to "inherit" and consolidate the popularity of the main domain which will help at the beginning to get traction to rank. However, you will need to additionally geolocate each sub-directory with Google Webmaster Tools so the search engine identifies that they're targeting to different countries.
- Sub-domains: In the main domain, you would need to enable one for each additional country. Here the consolidation of popularity is not so straight-forward as in sub-directories as sub-domains are also seen sometimes as independent entities but they might be better when you need to enable a complex and deep Web structure for which you don't want a sub-directory as it will add a an additional level of deepness in the URL. Sub-Domains also need to be geolocated with Google Webmaster Tools.
For all cases, you can also use hreflang annotations to specify the language and country targeting for each page.
I hope this helps!

If you are in US for example and you want a site to rank in Australia for the same services, using a ccTLD for Australia is a good idea. There is an excellent "how to choose URL structure" in WMT that you should look at.
Right above that they explain geotargeting factors so it really is good info and an easy read. Obviously, you are going to need to pay attention to duplicate content and canonicals, etc. But, you are on the right track. Best of luck,
Robert

Why Google Is Changing our Title Tags?
Hi fellow Moz SEOs, Need your URGENT help! We set an optimised title for our client websites. These titles are approved by our clients. When they checked on Google, noticed the title was not the same. They notified me about this issue. The title looks fine when I checked the source code. Why Google set our title differently? For example: Title approved by client: Heart Specialist Clinic Singapore | Cardiology Clinic | Dr. Lim Ing Haan
International SEO | | Verz
**Google set our title: **Dr. Lim Ing Haan: Heart Specialist Clinic Singapore ... Title approved by client: Hernia Surgery Singapore | Arden JR Surgery
**Google set our title: **Arden JR Surgery: Hernia Surgery Singapore Title approved by client: Top Specialist Divorce & Family Lawyer - Yeo & Associates LLC
Google set our title: Yeo & Associates LLC: Top Specialist Divorce & Family Lawyer Title approved by client: Child care Centre in Singapore| Top Preschool | Carpe Diem
Google set our title: Carpe Diem: Child care Centre in Singapore| Top Preschool Every day, they are requesting me to update Google's title with their approved title. Also, asking me these questions.
Why did this happen?
Why didn't set their recommended title? Is there any way to set our approved titles? Please, help me to find the solution. ASAP Thanks in advance!0 -

Russian SEO Specialist Needed
Hi All, Looking for a bit of help here. We are quoting for a big SEO project on a Russian website and need high quality Russian link builders to work on building the links to the website. As well as this, we need to have a little look at the on-page content (but that will be more of just straight translation stuff, nothing big). If you're a Russian link builder and could help me here then get in touch. I only want ethical, white-hat and relevant links being built to the website so if that's not what you do, please don't waste my time 🙂 Also, this should really go without saying but I'll mention it anyway... you MUST speak Russian! Look forward to hearing from you. Matt matt@wowinternet.net

Looking for content writers for multi-language SEO
Hi All, I'm currently doing a lot of work for a UK client who has multiple sites outside the UK (all part of the same business). We're currently discussing the option of us handling all of his SEO for his German, French, Spanish and Italian sites too, but we only have access to one person in the office who can speak French and Spanish. They're currently booked up on other jobs that we can't really move them off, so I'm looking for options of outsourcing some of the content writing. My question is, does anyone know of any high quality content writing services that have writers available to write for the countries languages above? We're going to focus initially on their on-site strategy and building up their high quality content. At the moment, they don't have much relevant content on their website, so we're going to initially look at this. Moving forward, we'll be looking at their off-site strategy and trying to find areas to submit high quality articles, look at guest blogging and PR opportunities. Any tips anyone has on this side (in terms of outsourcing to native speakers) would be quite useful too! Many thanks,

Good or Bad? - buying a .com domain name that is already branded under a different county code like .nl but a different business model completely
For example - www.example.com (I purchase) and www.example.nl (is in use and well optimized but a different business model) Seeing that this business (example.com) will be based here in the USA and theirs (example.nl) is in the Netherlands and they are both completely different models, is this ok? They are well optimized for the name and it will be a little bit of a challenge to outdo them here in the US as far as the name goes, but the name is really good and the client wants it!

SEO international - ccTLD or Subdirectories / Hosting on 1 server (IP) in Netherlands
Hi All, I do mingle me in discussion if it's better to have an Ecommerce site of a Brand X on seperate ccTLD's (Brand.nl / Brand.de / Brand.com or use subdirectories (brand.com/nl, brand.com/de, brand.com/fr etc. I see a lot of comments on this, but i am missing one (maybe) essential part. We are using Magento with multi ccTLD support. BUT the environment is hosted in the Netherlands. Will we be "penalized" on hosting in NL when using www.brand.DE or other countries? Or is it MUCH better to host those ccTLD in country of Origin? Because if it is, maybe we can better use subdirs because then we can use our builded authority of the root domain. Hope someone have an answer on this one! Thanks! Jeroen
