Problem with Wordpress RSS feed and Feedburner
-
Just discovered a problem with my company site's RSS feed. I'm a bit embarrassed to ask, but I thought someone in the community might have encountered this -- and I cannot figure it out for the life of me!
We had redirected our Wordpress feed to Feedburner. We publish at least once per week, but no posts after March 18 are in the feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheClineGroup The standard (Wordpress) RSS feed page does not load: http://theclinegroup.com/feed/
Of course, I deactivated all plug-ins to see if one of them was the issue, but the problem(s) still existed.
Thanks so much for any assistance!

The problem are, feedburner get new posts from the rss itself, and this RSS doesn't work now.
The solution still be finded on wordpress or the server itself, feedburner it's okay.

Hmm... got to think about that one. What happens if someone grabs your RSS feed and puts it into their feedburner or some other feed stream - is that duplicate content too?
Have you had negative experiences with multiple RSS feeds out there from one site?

If I remember correctly, there was a way you had to manually update the feed in Feedburner. Man, its been so long since I had to do it though.
*edit
Looks like you have to ping and resync your feeds. Try using the info in this link.

Why not use both at the same time?
-
I don't actually use Feedburner myself, so can't really help with anything in that respect, but I am surprised if it isn't updating automatically.
Because I don't use this, I did have a quick look at this page, and perhaps you might find your answer there?

I still want to use Feedburner, but I'm just trying to figure out how to make it self-update again when a new post is published.

Hi Samuel,
Are you trying to move back away from Feedburner and use your own feed again, or is it just that it won't load?
I did try going to your main feed URL http://www.theclinegroup.com/wp-rss2.php but this does forward to Feedburner rather than go to /feed, and I think it is this redirect that is causing the problem. If you go to my site, http://www.inetseo.co.uk/wp-rss2.php, you will see it forwards to /feed.

Have you reviewed your server blog? As i can see on your server, the RSS address get a 304 not modified even when i try to full-reload page. The problem it's outside WP i think, you have something telling who the RSS are not modified.

How big is the problem: 404-errors as result of out of stock products?
We had a discussion about the importance of 404-errors as result of products which are out of stock. Of course this is not good, but what is the leverance in terms of importance: low-medium-high?

Do I have a problem with missing pages in Screaming Frog?
We have category pages and some of those pages have pagination due to us having additional items. Screaming Frog could not find the items that were after page 1. Is this a problem for Google? These item pages are still in the sitemap. I am sure they can find them to index them but does it hurt rankings at all.

Changing title tag in wordpress media pages
Hello! I have a problem of duplicate title on 59 pages in Worpress. I Guess it happened after a recent WP update, because, suddenly, I got a peak of 59 from zero in a day. The SeoMoz crawl report states that there are 59 duplicate title. As you may see in the picture those are all media pages, whose title is written really badly with the formula postname/filename/blogTitle, ending up with trunkated, too long, title tags, that result in duplicate page title. How can I simply hide these mediapages or sculpting the title tag the way I want? I am using all-in-one-seo WP plugin, which doesn't seem to provide a solution. Thank you all! RSS Feed Errors in Google
We recently (2 months ago) launched RSS feeds for the category pages on our site. Last week we started seeing error pages in Webmaster Tools' Crawl Errors report pop up for feeds of old pages that have been deleted from the site, deleted from the sitemap, and not in Google's index since long before we launched the RSS feeds. Example: www.mysite.com/super-old-page/feed/ I checked and both the URL for the feed and the URL for the actual page are returning 404 statuses. www.mysite.com/super-old-page/ is also showing up in our Crawl Errors. Its been deleted for months but Webmaster Tools is very slow to remove the page from their Crawl Error report. Where is Google finding these feeds that never existed?

Which do you believe & why? Wordpress posts or pages?
I hear a lot of conflicting opinions regarding when to use pages over posts. If you were using wordpress mainly as a static site and less of a blog would you use pages over posts? Let's say it is a yacht review site. Would you set up most of the content (boat review pages) as pages or posts? I hear some say in that case you would want to use mostly pages and use posts for news related items. Then there are others that suggest only making the few (contact, about, privacy, terms) as pages and everything else created as posts organized into categories. Any thoughts? Also, is there a tool to find out if a website that is not yours is using a page or a post? Thanks

Hello, we've changed our CMS recently, everything seems to work well, but for some reason google, and other crawlers can't see or index other pages than main. There is no restriction in robots, nor any other visible issue. Please help if you can. Website: http://www.design-glassware.com/
