Problem with duplicate pages due to mobile site.

Hey everyone,
We've got an issue where our current shopping cart provider (Volusion) allows us to use canonical and rel="alternate" links, however the canonical links are forced on our Desktop as well as mobile pages. When they should only be on the mobile pages. You can view what I mean at the below two pages:

https://www.absoluteautomation.ca/mobile/Product.aspx?ProductCode=FGD400
Does anyone have any ideas in terms of working around this?

You have the rel="alternate" tags from the page back to the mobile version, right? That seems odd...has anyone else had this with mobile and desktop pages in WMT?

Awesome thanks Linda, any thoughts than as to why WMT is listing these pages as being considered "duplicates"?

You could always block DESKTOP content spiders from crawling the mobile portion of your site using your robots.txt file. Then, to make sure your mobile site gets indexed properly, make sure to add a link on your desktop site somewhere so that a mobile content crawler can still go through it. This should take care of your issue.

I am not sure what you want to work around? Having the canonical tag on the canonical page? That is not a problem. Here is Matt Cutts on the topic: http://youtu.be/U8eQgx-njk4
I think Bing used to have an issue with it, but it is such a common thing to have a situation like yours where canonical tags are automatically put on pages that even that stance has softened, I believe.
[They are also handy to have on pages in case someone steals them outright--they will still give credit to the home site.

Search Console Indexed Page Count vs Site:Search Operator page count
We launched a new site and Google Search Console is showing 39 pages have been indexed. When I perform a Site:myurl.com search I see over 100 pages that appear to be indexed. Which is correct and why is there a discrepancy? Also, Search Console Page Index count started at 39 pages on 5/21 and has not increased even though we have hundreds of pages to index. Duplicate Page Titles Issue in Campaign Crawl Error Report
Hello All! Looking at my campaign I noticed that I have a large number of 'duplicate page titles' showing up but all they are the various pages at the end of the URL. Such as, http://thelemonbowl.com/tag/chocolate/page/2 as a duplicate of http://thelemonbowl.com/tag/chocolate. Any suggestions on how to address this? Thanks!

New site: More pages for usability, or fewer more detailed pages for greater domain authority flow?
Ladies and gents! We're building a new site. We have a list of 28 professions, and we're wondering whether or not to include them all on one long and detailed page, or to keep them on their own separate pages. Thinking about the flow of domain authority - I could see 28 pages diluting it quite heavily - but at the same time, I think having the separate pages would be better for the user. What do you think?

Mobile & desktop pages
I have a mobile site (m.example.com) and a desktop site (example.com). I want search engines to know that for every desktop page there is a mobile equivalent. To do this I insert a rel=alternate on the desktop pages to the mobile equivalent. On the mobile pages I insert a rel=canonical to it's equivalent desktop page. So far so good BUT: Almost every desktop page has 4 or 5 copies (duplicate content). I get rid of this issue by using the rel=canonical to the source page. Still no problem here. But what happens if I insert a rel=alternate to the mobile equivalent on every copy of the source page? I know it sounds stupid but the system doesn't allow me to insert a rel=alternate on just one page. It's all or nothing! My question: Does Google ignore the rel=alternate on the duplicate pages but keeps understanding the link between the desktop source page & mobile page ? Or should I avoid this scenario? Google haveing problems accessing part of my site
hi my site is, www.in2town.co.uk and for a few weeks now google has had trouble accessing part of my site. Today googlewebmaster tools tells me that google is having major problems it shows, 123 pages where access were denied. i have spoken to my hosting company who could not find a problem, so not sure what to do now. can anyone please give me advice on what the problem may be. any help would be great

How to remove the duplicate page title
Hi everyone, I saw many posts related to this query.But i couldnt find a solution for my error.. Here is my question I got 575 Duplicate page title & 600 duplicate page content errors. My site is related to realestate. I created a page title like same sentence differs with locality name Eg: Land for sale - kandy property Land for sale - Galle property Likewise Locality name only differs..I have created meta title & Content like this. Can anyone let me know how to solve this error ASAP ?

Why do I get duplicate page title errors.
I keep getting duplicate page title errors on www.etraxc.com/ and www.etraxc.com/default.asp, which are both pointing to the same page. How do i resolve this and how bad is it hurting my SEO.
