Have we been blacklisted?
-
Howdy Guys, I imagine you've seen this question a bunch of times before. I've search the old questions and I thought our situation was slightly unique so I thought I'd ask the question. Have we been blocked!
Our website – danz.co.uk no longer appears in the search hot tubs. Infact, it no longer even ranks for its own name! Up until a few days ago we had one of those site maps showing up on the main page – its all gone!
What is really weird is – and the part I thought was slightly unique - is every else one our website, apart from our home page, is still showing up in Google? If you search site:danz.co.uk, Google lists hundreds of our pages and if we search for less important keyword terms, our sites still show up.
So clearly, our whole domain hasn't been blocked, but I fear the home page may well have been?
I can't think where we've gone wrong? I've started some serious link build recently. I've checked all of the links over, none of them have been blacklisted. They're all decent links, mainly directories, some 'follow' blogs, social media etc. Most of the serious links have been posting to the main page – danz.co.uk.
We had a guy doing some SEO for us in the past, he had some really crappy non-follow links but nothing I thought that would have set us back?
It may be useful for you to know that we have a 301 direct from our main page (danz.co.uk) to another page on the same domain – www.danz.co.uk/shop. However, this has been like this for years and never seems to have caused a problem.
Your thoughts? Have we been blocked?

Thanks for responding back and letting us know the cause. It's helpful to know to ask about this the next time this question comes up -- and it has come up before (though I believe it was a different cause).

good to hear that

Hi Guys! Sorry, please ignore me. I've found the problem.
We changed our 'preffered domain' from danz.co.uk to www.danz.co.uk in google webmasters a few days ago.
It appears good is only just getting around to changing it and in the interim, the page was not ranking at all.
I have looked again tonight and 'www.danz.co.uk is now successfully back on page for (for "hot tubs" on Google UK).
Thanks a lot anyway!
-
Sorry, just to clarify, yes, there are urls from our domain that rank, but the actual home page, ie. www.danz.co.uk no longer ranks.
www.danz.co.uk/shop/atlantic (or something of the like) may rank, but the main page no longer ranks at all.
The problem of course is www.danz.co.uk has all of the link juice. 2 days ago we used to be page 4, now we're no even in the top 100 (for the key term hot tubs).
By serious link building, I mean we've been adding about 30 links over the period of a week. We started about two weeks ago. I fear this may be the problem.

I dnt think you are
here is the query and basically your doing fine
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=danz+hot+tubs
what do you mean by serious link building. if you got 200 links in one day its puts some flags

Why has my website been removed from Bing?
I have a website that has recently been removed from Bing's index, but can't figure out why. The website isn't new, and it is indexed just fine on Google. These are the steps I've tried: The website is verified in Bing Webmaster Tools and successfully submitted the sitemap. I tested the URL to ensure that Bingbot is allowed to crawl the site I submitted URLs to Bing via the URL Submission tool There isn't a "noindex" on the site preventing it from being indexed When I do a URL Inspection, an error message comes up saying "The inspected URL is known to Bing but has some issues which are preventing us from serving it to our users. We recommend you to follow Bing Webmaster Guidelines." I contacted Bing to ask whether the website was removed in error, but received a reply that the website doesn't comply with Bing's quality guidelines, but they wouldn't go into detail as to which guidelines the website isn't meeting. The website URL is https://www.pardeehospital.org. Can anyone offer any advice or insight as to why Bing won't index our site? Thank you!

Why isn't our complete meta title showing up in the Google SERPS? (cut off half way)
We carry a product line, cutless bearings (for use on boats). For instance, we have one, called the Able, that has the following meta title (and searched by View Page Source to confirm): BOOT 1-3/8" x 2-3/8" x 5-1/2" Johnson Cutless Bearing | BOOT Cutlass However, if I search for it on on Google by part number or name (boot cutless bearing, boot cutlass bearing), the meta title comes back with whole first part chopped off, only showing this : "x 5-1/2" Johnson Cutless Bearing | BOOT Cutlass - Citimarine ..." Any idea why? Here's the url if it will hopefully help: https://citimarinestore.com/en/metallic-inches/156-boot-johnson-cutless-bearing-870352103.html All the products in the category are doing the same. Thanks!

Website ranking stuck on 2nd page of google. How to bring it in top 10 position??
Hi I am working on a site indianhomeappliances.in that for search terms such as 'best washing machine in india' appears near the top of the 2nd page of Googl for url https://indianhomeappliances.in/best-washing-machine-in-india/ When looking at what is listed on the 1st page for 'best washing machine in india' I would appreciate any advice/guidance on what else could be done to give the site a final push to get on the 1st page of search results. I have made more than 60 backlinks along with sites from competitor analysis via moz for this page Looking at the sites that are on the 1st page I cant understand why many of them are ranking higher than me? Any insight and plan of attack would be most appreciated from any search experts on the forum. My website is 2.5 months old. Many Thanks

Ogranization Schema/Microformat for a content/brand website | Travel
Hi, One of our clients have a website specific to a place, for eg. California Tourism in which they publish local information related to tourism, blogs & other useful content. I want to understand how useful is to publish Organization Schema on such website mentioning the actual Organization, which in this case is a Travel Agency? Or any other schema would fit in for such websites?

Previously blacklisted website still not appearing on Google searches.
We have a client who before us, had a website that was blacklisted by Google. After we created their new website, we submitted an appeal through Google's Webmaster Tools, and it was approved. One year later, they are still unable to rank for anything on Google. The keyword we are attempting to rank for on their home page is "Day in the Life Legal Videos" which shouldn't be too difficult to rank for after a year. But their website cannot be found. What else can we do to repair this previously blacklisted website after we're already been approved by Google? Here is the website in question: https://www.verdictvideos.com/

Duplicate content on ecommerce sites
I just want to confirm something about duplicate content. On an eCommerce site, if the meta-titles, meta-descriptions and product descriptions are all unique, yet a big chunk at the bottom (featuring "why buy with us" etc) is copied across all product pages, would each page be penalised, or not indexed, for duplicate content? Does the whole page need to be a duplicate to be worried about this, or would this large chunk of text, bigger than the product description, have an effect on the page. If this would be a problem, what are some ways around it? Because the content is quite powerful, and is relavent to all products... Cheers,
