Really odd 404 URL's
-
Hi
I'm getting some really odd 202 errors, I can't think that someone would link to me like this " http://sussexchef.com/contact-us/http.sussexchef.com/contact-us/ "
There are 95 of them to deal with, I've checked my site and I can click though all the links on my site with out coming across 1 404.
Any ideas?
All the best
Ben

is there a header.php? I don't know, maybe better to let the pros handle it lol
-
Hi yes it is wordpress.
Do you mean Wp-admin>css>? there are lots of files in there! all .css
-
Is this WordPress or some other platform? Do you have access to your CSS and HTML files? The template of the site? The ahref is just not done correctly for the contact us page.
-
I would start by looking in header.php, but they will know.
-
I've opened a ticket with them, fingers crossed, any idea which file?
-
I wouldn't do that. If this is Wordpress, you could probably rummage around in the editor and fix the problem (if you are very comfortable with that sort of thing) but the best thing would be to do as you mentioned, contact the theme support and tell them the problem. I am sure it is an easy fix.
-
Thanks for the compliment!
So I just 301 all 101 links?
sounds fun huh!
-
I haven't looked at everything, but I suspect that the only thing you need to fix is that link, the email link in the header. For some reason the URL there is being treated as being relative to the page that it is on. Talk to whomever set it up and they can probably fix it fairly quickly. And I'd probably make that a mailto: link anyway, but that's a different issue... [Looking at your site is making me very hungry, and I've just had breakfast!]
-
Wow
Ok so the header is coursing the bad links, how do I go about fixing that? do I contact the support that make the theme?
-
The http comes in twice, because it seems that an absolute path is being input where a relative path is expected.
In other words, the html of your link to E-mail : Info@SussexChef.com says: <a href="http.sussexchef.com/contact-us/"> this is on the page (I just picked one as an example): http://sussexchef.com/menus/christmas-buffet-delivery. The link becomes http://sussexchef.com/menus/http.sussexchef.com/contact-us/ because apparently in that header a path relative to http://sussexchef.com/menus/ was expected.
-
Hi I see it in screaming frog too, should I just redirect the urls rather than trying to find them and correct them?
-
Actually, I looked with Screaming Frog, and I can see where the error is. (One part, anyway.) Look in your header. The linking for the phone number and email there is odd.
-
Thanks
Yes they are all coming from my site. However I look at the referring url and view source But I cant find any url's with Http:// in them twice, I looked in the htaccess file on the server and they are not their either.
Really od, where do you think they are coming from?
Ben
-
Judging by the screenshot, these are 4xx errors from your Moz crawl, yes? If you look on that spreadsheet in column AM, "Referrer" it will show you the referrer of those URLs. Look at those pages to see where the errors came from.
My guess is that these are being generated by your own website. This type of thing can happen if there is some confusion with absolute and relative URLs and the wrong form is being input somewhere.
-
Hi I see them in the latest moz crawl and they are 404's yes
I just migrated my site so I was expecting 404's but not with the http: in them twice!
Thanks for your quick responce
-
Because 202 is nor an error, it's an 'accepted' code. Also, where are you seeing these?
-
Hi Ben are they 202 or 404?

Moz tool to estimate a website's organic traffic?
Moz has tons of great tools, so I was quite suprised there is nothing similar to Alexa's siteinfo tool, or SimilarWeb's site comparison tool. Am I missing something? Or does such a tool exists at Moz? Or is there a different way of estimating my competitor's traffic? It would be great if Moz would have something like that.

Can't make sense of OSE and MOZ.
I checked this site on my OSE and it shows only 7 inbound links a DA of 14 and no social activity whatsoever yet when I check it on Majestic it shows ExternalBacklinks 71 ReferringDomains 20 Referring IPs 19 Referring Subnets 19 . And.. the page is #1 on google search for hypnotherapy michigan. How can it rate so poorly on MOZ, show so much more on majestic and rank so high on google? I thought MOZ data was supposed to be among the best and that top rated pages on google should also rate high on MOZ. here is the site http://hypnotherapy-detroit.com Additionally, when i look at the site, i notice that most of the backlinks are exchanged links and this site's link exchange page isn't even linked from the home page. Now I thought that kind of link exchange game was now discounted by Google. I don't get it. No social pages at all... low page rank... no new content.. so by MOZ standards there is no justification for this page to be anywhere near page one let alone at position #1. Can someone help me make sense of all this?

Local listings aren't being crawled?
Hello, SEO brainiacs. Here is the problem I can't figure out:We have a lot of clients and all of them have local listings, such as Insider Pages, Yahoo local, Bing locals, Yelp, Yellow Pages etc etc etc.
Link Explorer | | seomozinator
And all of those local listing have company's website link. But none of those links are considered (found) in reports, such as opensite explorer or in Link Analysis Section of Moz PRO. I do know that MOZ crawl considers only high DA websites, but all of local listing domains have above 80-90 DA score, so they can't be NOT crawled. I will say that some local listings do appear on very few reports, but far not all of them. So, what can be the problem?0 -
Why does OSE redirect to another url when the url you're testing doesn't redirect in your browser?
Run an OSE report on www.schoolmatters.com/ca/san-diego/personal-injury-lawyer/. OSE redirects to brandingwithseo.com. Why? And if you go to brandingwithseo.com in your browser, it redirects to seocompany.org. Why is OSE redirecting? It appears the links that come up are a combination of links for the seo company and for schoolmatters.com.

Open Site Explorer is finding old html Files that havn't been on my site in two years... even after a 301 Redirect. HELP!
Hello!
Link Explorer | | morganlindsaycole
My problem started when I became aware that when I checked my backlinks for the past two years, it states that no backlinks have been found. When I ran a site analysis on SEMrush - No backlinks are found on the URL, or Domain. There are 7 Backlinks on the Root Domain and those were configured in 2012. I made a second domain www.columbusweddingphotographersreviews.comwhere I linked to my domain at www.morganlindsayphotography.com so I could test that google had crawled both websites and after, still no backlink was found. I have also been published on a dozen or so wedding websites that has linked to my website where they are follow links and still nothing. (http://www.brendasweddingblog.com/blogs/2015/2/23/an-elegant-fall-wedding-in-ohio-with-morgan-lindsay-photography) **Website Background- **
In 2012 I had two separate websites - One for Seniors that was an HTML website I build in Dreamweaver at www.morganlindsayphotography/seniors and another for Wedding Clients found at www.morganlindsayphotography.com/Wedding - (wordpress) I had a Splash page wish was found atwww.morganlindsayphotography.com. Two years ago when I became aware splash pages were frowned upon in Google, I combined the two websites and stayed with the Wordpress which was www.morganlindsayphotography.com/Wedding
Because I did not want users to have to go to www.morganlindsayphotography.com/Wedding to view my url, Godaddy moved my wordpress site from thewww.morganlindsyphotography.com/Wedding directory towww.morganlindsayphotography.com When I ran the Open Site Explorer with Moz I found after runningwww.morganlindsayphotography.com the TOP pages on this domain according to Page Authority are old HTML files from my senior website, as well as old Posts from when my wordpress site was found atwww.moragnlindsayphotography.com/Weddings
No current pots or pages are showing up besideswww.morganlindsyphotography.com I do run a cache management system to speed up my system and recently cleaned out my .htcacess folder and still had no luck. This is difficulty something **Last night I made a 301 Redirect in my htaccess for all the old links pointing to the new links as best as I could. My htacess folder looks like this.. BEGIN WordPress <ifmodule mod_rewrite.c="">RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]</ifmodule> END WordPress Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /Wedding http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /Wedding/ http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /about.html http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/about-morgan-lindsay/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /app.html http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/blog/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /experience.html http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/senior-sessions/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /index.html http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /senior.html http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/ohio-senior-photographer/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /seniorsconstruction.html http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/ohio-senior-photographer/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /Wedding/2012/06/22/brittany-reis-jason-mcclaflin-tiffin-ohio-wedding/ http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/holy-family-church-columbus-wedding/ After I ran the open site moz explorer and the www.morganlindsayphotography/Wedding was still there..0 -
May I know multiple campaigns set up, with same site url is allowable in Moz campaign or not?
Hi Guys, I have a question regarding moz campaign. I am a Moz Pro member, have taken Standard Plan. (Time being, am not in a position to upgrade to a higher plan) I have utilized only one campaign slot among total 5 slots. I have added xyz.com website in one campaign, there I have added 350 keywords which is the maximum count we can add in a a single campaign. Still, I have plenty of keywords to track for same website xyz.com. I am not planning to use the remaining 4 campaign slots for time being for any other websites. May I know, if I can add same xyz.com website in remaining campaign slots for tracking the remaining keywords for my website?
