Converting Old Web Site to Wordpress

I have a website I would like to update and convert to WordPress. My site rates very highly for the keywords I care about and I have a lot of domain authority and page authority that I don't want to lose. I'm concerned about the switch as I don't want to hurt my Google positioning, but would like the benefits of a WordPress site.
Any assistance and advice is appreciated.

I've done several upgrades to wordpress. I'm assuming you are going to keep all the same content, so make sure the url structure matches. Â Easy if you are already something like /page-title. Â Doing that in wordpress is done through /wp-admin/options-permalink.php and your page or post titles can also be individually modified.
If those all match up, you shouldn't have a problem! Â Make sure your theme is quality and loads quickly.

Absolutely. The entire question is whether the move is done correctly. There are site owners who have been in your exact situation and have seen little to no change in rankings, while others have had significant improvements and others have had ranking drops.
It is important to manage the URL structure, internal links and other aspects of your site during the move.

I already use WP on some other sites and love it- My question is can i convert an older site to WP without hurting my google positioning on interior pages?

I can share WordPress is the most popular blog software in the world. It is used to run millions of websites. That popularity is very helpful in that there are tons of developers who create extensions to add extra functionality to the core software.
While you can build a site yourself easily with WordPress, I highly recommend involving a professional developer. Many users simply buy a template and make adjustments themselves, but they experience many issues related to SEO. A few examples: lack of a Responsive Design mobile site, issues related to coding errors, issues where the site appears fine on one browser but not in others, crawl errors and much more.

Recently re-built our site and changed domain. Now I want to go back to old domain - it it a bad idea?
About a year ago I rebuilt our website and changed our domain name. We rent villas in Tuscany, we used to be 'invitationtotuscany.com'. Then I started doing the same in Provence, and in the italian lakes, so i had further sites called invitationtoprovence.com and invitationtotheitalianlakes.com. But maintaining them was awkward and I wanted to have one site. So I put them all onto invitationto.com and did 301s from the old domains and sites. Now I'd dropped off organic search results and I've also realised that invitationto.com is far less clear as a business address. My inclination is to go back to invitationtotuscany.com - Tuscany is still 80% of our business and have the other areas in there too - optimised for SEO for Provence etc. I'm being told its a really bad idea to change domain, 301 the old one, and then revert to the original domain. But I'm suffering anyway, so I wonder if I sjhouldn't just bite the bullet. A lot of my old good backlinks still point to invitationtotuscany.com (BBC, Sunday Times, etc) and the DA is 33 against 22 on the new one.. All help gratefully received! : )

What if an old site goes into PENDINGDELETE status
Hi, I have an old domain which accidentally was set as PENDINGDELETE by the registry. It's now not resolving to any ip address any more. Actually I was relocating from the old domain to a new domain. Just one month before it become PENDINGDELETE, I have submitted a "Chang of Address" in Google Webmasters Tools as well as setup the web server to 301 redirect all urls on old domain to the new domain. I have some sub-questions for this case: 1. What will happen to the effectiveness of the "Change of Address" in Google Webmasters Tool after old domain is dropped. As a domain is deleted, I have no way to maintain the verified ownership of the it in case Google asks me to reverify. 2. Suppose during last month before it's deleted, Googlebot had crawled 50% of urls on old domains, detected the 301 redirects and save them to its index. When Googlebot crawls those 50% urls again after the old domain is deleted, as those urls are not resolving to any web server, will Googlebot retain the last 301 redirects or drop the 301 redirects as well? 3. After a domain is deleted, how soon will Google purge urls on old domain from its index? Thank you. Best regards Jack Zhao

Redirect from old wordpress site to new php site? Best approach
Hi I have two websites one legacy site done in wordpress the other in php. However I would like to merge the two together and remove the wordpress site. However it has a good link profile and the pages rank well. What is the best approach to do a 301 redirect from the old site with all its pages pointing to the homepage of the new site? If so what's the best way to do this in wordpress? Many thanks

I am Posting an article on my site and another site has asked to use the same article - Is this a duplicate content issue with google if i am the creator of the content and will it penalize our sites - or one more than the other??
I operate an ecommerce site for outdoor gear and was invited to guest post on a popular blog (not my site) for a trip i had been on. I wrote the aritcle for them and i also will post this same article on my website. Is this a dup content problem with google? and or the other site? Any Help. Also if i wanted to post this same article to 1 or 2 other blogs as long as they link back to me as the author of the article

Question about an older more obsolete site
I have a website that I don't use much anymore but it ranks on the first page for one of my main keywords. I am using another few websites in different niches right now that are doing better and are more functional. It may cost around 1,300 or so to get the website that I don't use anymore, to look and function in the new ways of the internet. Would you suggest that I: Do a site redesign (which is more difficult because to make the site do what I want it needs to be out of a wordpress theme) or 301 redirect the site to another one of my sites? Would it make sense to do a 301? The domain is 5 years old but doesn't bring in any leads anymore because it would take a redesign for that to happen. How can I still benefit from the SEO that I have done on that site? Will 301 redirecting a site multiple times still preserve the original site value?
Hi, All! If site www.abc.com was already 301 redirected to site www.def.com, and now the site owner wants to redirect www.def.com to www.ghi.com - is there any concern that it's not going to work, and some of the original linkjuice, rank, trust, etc. is going to vanish? Â Or as long as the 301s are set up right, should you be able to 301 indefinitely? Does anyone have any experience with actually doing this and seeing good/bad/neutral results?
