Setting up Google Analytics
-
Hello, I will try to explain what I want and I am not sure if that is possible.
Firstly I want to set up my Google Analytics that I would know where people come from and how many of them click on Google Ads.
For example:
Facebook > 2% of them click on ads.
Google > 3% of them click on ads.
Direct > 6% of them click on ads.Or whatever the results are.Secondly I would like to take people coming from facebook and divide them into age groups.
For example: 100 ad clicks from facebook.
25-34: 9 clicks (9% of total facebook clicks, 2% of total ad clicks)
18-24: 7 clicks (.....
35-44: ... and so onThirdly I would like to know which group use the adblocker the most.
Any other stuff that would be interesting if working with adsense?I believe that this would help me working with my target audience the best on facebook.
Should this be set as goals? Sorry I am not an expert of Google Analytics Thanks for the help.

I already enabled Demographics data some time ago
-
Next to the recommendation that you would need to set up the event tracking you would also need to enable the Audience Demographics data: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2819948?hl=en you can find more at this link on how to enable this.
You'll also need to implement a custom way to track if a user is using an adblocker. You could do this for example by creating a file advertising.js which usually gets blocked by an adblocker and adding a writable variable in there. If you would later check if that variable has changed you might be able to see the result.
-
Ah OK.
You will then need to lookup "even tracking". Basically ad an event on each one of the ads links you have on your website. (Surely you use templates and you can do this automatically)
What this does is create an event record (under Behavior tab on Analytics) every time someone clicked on that link. If you label that even correctly, you can then click on that even, and add a secondary dimension to see where did i t come from.
OR
If you're looking at the source (Facebook for example) you can select a goal on the same report that is setup with the event information. This will give you the number of visits from that source, and the number of events (clicks on the ad)
I hope this helps

Sorry for my bad English.
This should be the second one - "clicks on ads within your website"
-
A bit confused here, Do you mean ad to your website or clicks on ads within your website?
If its the first (example: you want to know the ratio of people who clicked on Facebook ads to your website TO people who clicked to your website from Facebook organically) then this is pretty easy:
- Add UTM tags to all your ads destination URLs (search UTM builder or URL builder on Google)
- Make sure the source (in the UTMs) is the same as the organic/normal traffic.
- Give the medium a unique name (for example, "advertising")
This way you can go to your Analytics, and click on (for example) facebook source. It will then list for you all the mediums of facebook, in this case: facebook / referral & facebook / advertising.
I hope this helps

Google smacked my site and dropped all rankings, can't find out why
I have checked out everything, I mean everything. We have no dupe content, our content is a little thin, but it is ours and accurate enough to help our customers. We follow all SEO guidelines and make sure we de-index any pages with no / little content (like privacy, or faq) All in all, we haven't done any major updates to the sites, and everything was great (page one on almost all kw) but beginning of the month, all kw wiped to the second page, than third, than back to one and now pretty much gone (rank 100-200) I really don't know what to do. We didn't receive a manual action, and the last algo update was nothing big to cause such a drastic change. Meanwhile our competition (multiple sites) are gaining in ranks and nothing happened to them (most of them have even less content and not even SSL) Negative SEO is out of question, I check all links via ahrefs every other day. Any help is appreciated Thanks

Privacy Policy requirements for Demos and Interests in Google Analytics
I have a client who is activating the Demographics and Interests in Google Analytics, and I need to provide an appropriate privacy policy, per Google's TOS. Can anybody suggest what to state in the privacy policy? Google says: "If you’ve implemented Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting, you must also disclose in your privacy policy: How you use data from Google's Interest-based advertising or 3rd-party audience data (such as age, gender, and interests) with Google Analytics." So, I guess it's advisable to state that the site gathers "3rd-party audience data." Is it enough to say that the info is being used to better understand and communicate with the website visitor?

How come this one google places listing is the only one to show up google maps?
Hi there, I found a really weird thing about google places. I'm working on a google places listing optimization for a locksmith company in Houston, TX. When I was searching google maps for "locksmith houston" only one listing came up. However, when searching for "locksmith near houston" 880 results came up. This changes from time to time, but most of the time this one competitor is the only listing that shows up which is really really weird. Anybody has an idea what this competitor did to get rid of the other 879 results and show up alone on google maps??

Google De-Indexed Our SIte for Branded Terms?
Hello all, As of 10am Pacific on September 12th, 2013, my team has noticed that our site, www.wirelessemporium.com, does not show up on the first 5 or 6 pages of SERPs for branded terms like "wireless emporium." We have not received any messages from Google via Webmaster Tools regarding this. Major activity that we've been doing to our site is updating content, meta tags, and h1 tags, along with removing/301 redirecting certain pages that did not meet Google quality guidelines. We've also been purging our backlink portfolio of toxic links and URLs, both manually and through the disavow tool. No blackhat has been done to this site for a very long time (more than 8 months now). One thing to note is that we did have a manual spam penalty placed on us back in July of 2012, it expired in early August of 2013 after a reconsideration request was submitted, and a 2nd manual spam penalty was placed on us again later that month. We are submitting a 2nd reconsideration request this Monday. Could this or the recent Panda update have anything to with this? We are very much in need of opinions as to why this is happening to our site. 5adbd14a31de3a78b998df94f0b6d2be

Google Rel="Next" & Rel="Prev"
Hello, I have a catalogue website and I am implementing the rel="next" and rel="prev" to the website. My question is that we do have a view all page also, which apparently Google likes over a 'page1'.. Should I add the canonical to this page? I already have it set to WEBSITEURL/sonos (which is going well) I don’t want to have to change this to [URL]sonos/view-all (which is my view all link) as the first page is getting ranked well I am then telling Google no, the view all page is the parent. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks Rick

Googles 'freshness' update and how it may affect Estate Agents.
We have some clients who have raised concerns over how this new update will affect them. They are an Estate Agents who regularly update their property portfolio, blogs and news section etc. Can you advise how they may or may not be directly affected? Thank you.
