Learn SEOmoz API (and more)?

I'm sorry for this very basic question.
The reason why I'm asking is that I wan't to start to use SEOmoz API (and later on Majestic SEO etc.)
I have search on the web about API in general, SEOmoz specifically, in Q&A and asked around but:
I really can't get my head around what "set of skills" I need to know to be able use the SEOmoz API? And other APIs for that reason.Do I need a programming skills, or just knowledge how each specific API works(+ common sense)? Or both?
I'm sorry if this is off topic but the main reason why I'm asking is that I wan't to start to use the SEOmoz API.
If you could provide a link or two about where I can start to learn about how this works, I would really appreciate that!

You will generally need programming expertise, to write a program to pull and display the data from the API.

Thank you David, but I know there is well documented information about the API itself. I think this apiwiki is for someone that all ready understands the concepts of API.
The problem is not the information, the problem is that I don't really have a grip of what set of skills you need to work with SEOmoz (or Majestic SEO API.)
I'm sorry if I'm totally off topic for SEOmoz Q&A but I some one can point me in the right direction.

SEOscar - I've not used the API myself, but there is some decent documentation, including a Getting Started Guide in the Mozscape section of the site. I'd be inclined to start there.

Linkscape API Sort calls
I'm using Linkscape API plugin from SEO Gadget. It's all fine but I can't find any documentation on other 'sort' calls. The only request that I knows that works is "domains_linking_page". Any idea where this information is? I was hoping for a list of all the available requests I can and more particularly I want to sort it by Internal Linking Domains.

Open Site Explorer & SEOMoz Bar for Chrome Showing Different Numbers
When I run a report on OSE checking for linking root domains, the number is always different from the number of root domain links that the SEOMoz bar shows in Chrome. For example on OSE a site shows 88 root domain links, but in the SEOMoz bar, it shows 110 root domain links. I've tested this issue with several sites and there is always a discrepancy in the number of root domain links. Does anyone know which one is actually correct and why this might be happening? Thanks.

SEOMoz Software
I want to start off with stating that i am truly an advocate of SEOMoz and the great stuff they have done for the inbound community that we all know and love. I've been an active member since July 2010 and a paying pro member since December 2010. The software has always been monumental in helping my clients achieve their goals. However, in the past few months i have received nothing short of buggy unreliable software. The keyword difficulty tool never returns difficulty results. The Adwords data has been gone since i can remember. The rank tracker tool is successfull close to 1 out of 5 times. OSE is updated terribly slow compared to competitors. Plus, I have had to write emails to get my campaigns to be manually refreshed to see new ranking data. I have simply missed deadlines because my data is always delayed or missing from the software. Am i an anomaly here? does anyone have these problems? I have been researching some new tools as a replacement but i have yet to find anything as robust as the old SEOMoz. I'd love some feedback. Linkscape API having bugs
Hi, We are using the SEOMOZ Linkscape API (url-metrics and links) but the the API is not working well. We are sometimes (without any proveable reason) getting an http error with code 401. Like I said earlier it happens sometimes really often and sometimes just once. What could be the reason for this? We have an account with the following login seo@traffic-builders.com. Structurize campaigns in SEOMOZ for different languages & keywords
I have a website in 3 different languages as www.mysite.com/fr annd www.mysite.com/en what is the best way to track keywords in different languages in SEOmoz how do i structurize the campaign? Do i create a seperate campaign for every language?

SEOmoz PRO Custom Reports Issues
This post is for all PRO members, On January 2, 2012, we found a serious bug in our custom reporting system that made it possible for some of our customers to see other customers’ custom reports. This affected less than 1% of our customers in total (.6 % to be exact). Fewer than 100 reports could potentially be viewed by another customer. We are taking this matter very seriously. 98 accounts were affected and we will be contacting those people individually via their account email addresses. If you do not receive an email from us, don’t worry - you were not affected. Soon after we discovered the problem, we completely turned off access to these reports; even though people may have been provided access previously, the access was limited to a short time period. They no longer have access to the reports whatsoever. The issue has now been resolved and all reports moving forward are functioning properly. Drastic Difference between Ranking in Seomoz Keyword Ranking and non-personalized Google US Search
Hi everybody, for some of our keywords we saw a huge drop in ranking in the Seomoz Dashboard, yet when performing a non-personalized Google US search we still hold our old positions. Now, I am worried whether this is an upcoming Google penalty or just some bug in the latest crawl. Did anybody ever experience something similar and how could we find out if we were indeed penalized by Google (as we did some major linkbuilding campaign for these keywords recently)?
