Organic Listings showing Google Tag Manager + Google Page Title...?
-
I'm a bit stumped with this. I optimise all my titles etc for Australia - and now the organic liatings are showing something strange. For example ( we sell health supplements )
Meta title = "My Product , Buy Online Australia"
If I type "My Product" - the title in the organic listings says "My Product - My Company Limited" - and the only place I can see it getting that from is a combination of Meta Data used in Google Tag Manager + the Name on my Google places page. This is much more obvious for categories.. but it's a pain in the butt.
If I type "My Product Australia" Then the original "My Product , Buy Online Australia" comes up.
Any ideas on policy etc? I have taken the "Limited" off the Google business page - so hopefully this will change over time - but I can't find any information on why google would do something like this.
If you had shed any light on this - would be much appreciated.

Yeah, echoing Dmitrii, Google does this quite a lot these days, and a rewrite to include the brand is very common. It's especially common if they consider part of the title to be low value or low relevance, and I'm afraid Google would probably consider "Buy Online Australia" to be low value in most cases.
At this point, there's almost nothing you can do about it, other than adjust the title to be more relevant to common searches. If you start hacking away at you G+ business listings, you're just going to harm your brand signals. It's not worth it for a couple of title tag rewrites.

Hi there.
Google reserves the right to use whatever they think is best description the page/company in a title. Yes, they most often use title tag, but not always. If, for whatever reason, they think that title tag is not matching enough what the page is about, they can show something different.
Also, as you said, since you removed "Limited", it might take some time for Google to "realize" that.

Why is my landing page title tag being applied to the entire site?
I have a unique title tag for every page on my site but depending on what page a user lands on, that title becomes the title tag for the entire site. For example, if you come in from SERPs via the "Zach King: My Magical Life" page, the title "Zach King: My Magical Life" title will be applied to every page on the site even though they have unique title tags. This is the site: https://www.shelfstuff.com/book-shelf. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Why Is Google Indexing These Product Pages On Shopify?
How can we communicate to Google the exact product pages we'd like indexed on our site? We're an apparel company that uses Shopify as our ecommerce platform. Website is sportiqe.com. Currently, Google is indexing all types of different pages on our site. **Example of a product page we want indexed: ** Product Page: sportiqe.com/products/PRODUCT-TITLE (Like This) **Examples of product pages being indexed: ** sportiqe.myshopify.com/products/PRODUCT-TITLE sportiqe.com/collections/COLLECTION-NAME/products/PRODUCT-TITLE See attached for an example of how two different "Boston Celtics Grateful Dead" shirts are being indexed. Any suggestions? We've used both Shopify and Google Webmaster tools to set our preferred domain (sportiqe.com). We've also added this snippet of code to our site three months ago thinking that would do the trick... {% if template == 'product' %}{% if collection %} {% endif %}{% endif %} sKwNZOl

Same content pages in different versions of Google - is it duplicate>
Here's my issue I have the same page twice for content but on different url for the country, for example: www.example.com/gb/page/ and www.example.com/us/page So one for USA and one for Great Britain. Or it could be a subdomain gb. or us. etc. Now is it duplicate content is US version indexes the page and UK indexes other page (same content different url), the UK search engine will only see the UK page and the US the us page, different urls but same content. Is this bad for the panda update? or does this get away with it? People suggest it is ok and good for localised search for an international website - im not so sure. Really appreciate advice.

What would you consider an over optimized title tag? [examples included]
Say you want to target a single page for 2 terms and they both get a good amount of search volume. At the same time you don't want the title tag to be atrocious, do you just choose one? (maybe the one with most search volume). I'm going to make up some examples which aren't based on real search volume for the sake of time and completely fake and you be the judge: custom car parts - exact sv: 4000

personalized car parts - exact sv: 5000
wholesale custom car parts - exact sv: 4400 Title tag A: Custom Car Parts - Personalized Wholesale Car Parts | Company Name OR Title Tag B: Custom Car Parts | Company Name Or You recommend. Do you get where i am going here? Some of the pages on my website target 3-4 terms that mean exactly or pretty close to the same thing.0 -
Why SEOmoz says to keep title tag not more than 65 character?
Why SEOmoz says to keep title tag not more than 65 characters? I have this question that what is the disadvantage if my meta title is 150 character? Why everyone focus in keeping it short ? If i put all my important keywords in starting of title tag say in first 65 characters and keep the title 100-150 character how can it hurt my website? Google will consider 65 character, right but it won’t penalize me for having 110 character then please explain Why we focus so much… 🙂 I know i used too many why 🙂 just to tell i am nt a lawyer 😉 just trying to act like one 🙂 , just kidding.
