Anyone know how to filter by location-neutral results?
-
Google dropped the ability to filter your search results by location, and it's now using your precise location to give results.
Here's an article from Search Engine Land that covers the removal of location setting: http://searchengineland.com/google-drops-change-location-search-filter-from-search-results-237247
Anyone know a work around for getting location-neutral results? Before I was using "Location: United States" to find unbiased results, but that's not an option any more.

Great article on your wiredseo.com site Clint! That about saved my life.

I actually just posted a piece on this - http://www.wiredseo.com/google-search-by-location-removed-how-to-filter-geo-location/

Oh, I answered my own question - for anyone interested: https://moz.com/ugc/geolocation-the-ultimate-tip-to-emulate-local-search

Worked perfectly. Thanks, Clint.
I'm curious about jessicamcdaniel's question about seeing local results as well.

Thanks! Are you able to amend this to see local results? I have many clients in different cities, and I would like to see what the local search looks like for them.

Append this to your search in the URL -->> &uule=w+CAIQICINVW5pdGVkIFN0YXRlcw
So if your search is for "home security" and you want it in the United States, this will be your search URL...

Unfortunately incognito/private/in-private won't stop Google Search from using your location data. See the imgur link for reference.
Even after fiddling with the privacy location settings in Chrome, Google Search will still use your location in its search results. I explicitly told Chrome to block Google.com from using my location, and it's still grabbing my location for it's results.

I always run my searches incognito in Chrome, **private **in Firefox, and in-private with Internet Explorer. These settings remove any personal information, login data, stored cookies, and location data.

My Company Doesn't Appear in the Search Results on the Right When I Search for It
Hello, I just found that one of my companies (iFix Appliances) doesn't show on the right in search results when I search for it. I found it accidentally, I just wanted to check if it shows Request a Quote button as recently I enabled messaging on GMB. Yet it's not there at all. Could you please help me figure out what happened and why it's not there? Is something wrong with its GMB listing? I have two locations so I created 2 GMB listings for one company. Is this something that might have caused the issue?

How to fix directions to a place on Apple Maps, when the location itself is correct.
Hello Community, I do local SEO for our health system. I recently claimed and adjusted the marker on Apple Maps to our Emergency Room. I assumed since there's a road that leads right to it, the directions would change. But the directions send them to the front of the hospital building (instead of the emergency room entrance). Unfortunately, there is no way to get to the ER through the front of our hospital. So now I'm trying to fix the directions itself. I've searched through Apple Forums etc. looking for a solution without success. Any ideas on how I might fix the directions? Here is the exact location in case that helps. https://mapsconnect.apple.com/business/ui/editPlace?id=66160ad6-d915-11e6-b4a6-d3fec844f2f3

Multiple locations and local directories
Hello, A client has opened a new office in another city. I have created a local landing page for this city. Now I want to build citations for it. However, I have already set up directories like Yelp/Yell with the primary/original address in the original city. Is it OK to set up new citations using the new city local address. The company name stays the same obviously. So I will have duplicate listings on the directories for the same company. Will this work? Thanks for any help

Local Search - Multiple Locations, do i link the home page or the inner page?
Hello, For a business with multiple locations that has a web url built for each location such as: Website.com/miami Website.com/los-angeles For local search (Google+, Yelp, etc), is it best to link the local search pages to the specific page of that location? Or is the homepage sufficient enough? I ask that because it is ALREADY touch getting NATURAL links to a location page, so would local search do me good by linking to the exact page of the location?

Would having 3 locations NAP in footer of site hurt?
We have offices in New York, London and Sydney. On our website, we used the Yoast local plugin and set up NAP for all 3 different addresses in the footer of the site - and hence all pages. Is that bad? Would G consider that as stuffing or whatever other word that they may deem to call it? Any help would be appreciated.
