Pictures on Google Local not ours
-
Hi all-
We recently had some pictures show up on our local profile that are not our store. When you click on them they have links to someone's blog as well. Can someone tell me how these got here and more importantly how to get rid of them. We've looked everywhere but can't find them to get rid of.
Thanks for any help!

What you need to do is flag each image that isn't applicable to your business, then Google will take them down. When you click into each image there is a link at the bottom right hand corner of the screen that says "Report a Problem" which will take you to another screen. In that screen you'll see radio buttons next to "Why are you reporting this photo?" where you can select, "This photo is irrelevant to this business." You'll need to put in your email address and enter a reCAPTCHA code, but in time it should get taken down. It's not automatic, and it may take a little back and forth with a Google rep but that's your first step. If that really doesn't work, then you could try and contact Google Places Support but I think they'll tell you to do exactly what I just described above.

If this image is showing on Google Images then you can request it to be deleted

I got one removed from Google images. This image was hosted on someone else's website and tried to get in touch with the webmaster but no response. So ultimately I had to get in touch with Google and give them the reason and what efforts I had put in to get in removed.
They listed and removed it

Ken,
Is this for your Google local listings? I've never heard of this happening, but there are ways to get the images removed. I would suggest marking the images as inappropriate. Technically the images do not match Google's guidelines of 'Represent the real-world business location'. Google will review the issue and confirm if the images are accurate or not. It's not a full gurantee the images will be removed, but it's an excellent place to start.
I hope this helps.

GMB listing not showing for local searches
Hi all, I've optimised an existing GMB listing that has been in place for over a year. The client is a yacht/boat broker and marine repair outfit based in Mallorca. When I search for terms that they 'should' be ranking for on Google and on a Maps search, they are nowhere to be found, yet their listing does show when you type in their company name. I've read lots of Local SEO guides and followed their advice but I'm not sure what I'm meant to do next?

Should I use a vanity address when creating local citations?
My client is opening a new location of their business in the Dallas area and has listed the location on their website under Dallas, but their technical address is Farmers Branch. They have not started any citation building efforts, so I will be creating all citations from scratch. Should I create citations using the vanity address containing Dallas or list Farmers Branch as the city?

New Local Search Results Appearance/Rankings?
Hi everybody! My team and I are all noticing a new layout for local search results. We just noticed it today. Mobile and desktop results appear to be affected. Specifically, we are looking at searches like "event spaces in Richmond" and "restaurants in Raleigh" as 2 examples. The listings appear differently in the SERPs, and the top results really are not relevant to the search queries. Is anybody noticing anything similar, or does anyone have any insight into whether this is something Google is testing or if it's here to stay? Also, any advice for overcoming rankings drops as a result of these changes? Thanks in advance!

'People Also Searched for' appears on some but not all local businesses, why? (Google Local Knowledge Panel)
I have a client who does not want the 'People Also Searched for' section on the Google Local Knowledge Panel to appear. I informed her that this is a standard part of the search presentation and that we cannot change. She then pointed out that the 'People also searched for' does not appear on her competitors' Google Local Knowledge Panels. (See the attachment for comparison) This raises a couple of questions: Why are the local businesses different? Can I change the content of her panel? I would appreciate any feedback. google-local.jpg
