How do I fix 885 Duplicate Page Content Errors appearing in my Moz Report due to categories?
-
Hi There,
I want to set up my Moz report to send directly to a client however there are currently 885 duplicate page content errors displaying on the report.
These are mostly caused by an item listed in multiple 'categories' and each category is a new pages/URL.
I guess my questions are:
1. Does Google see these as duplicate page content? Or does it understand the categories are there for navigation purposes.
2. How do I clear these off my Moz report so that the client doesn't panic that there are some major issues on the site
Thanks for your advice.

Greetings Stacey,
If your site is built on WordPress, you can use the Yoast SEO plugin and set categories to "noindex". You can find this in the menu for "Titles &Metas" and then "Taxonomies" in the Yoast plugin. I did that recently for tags, categories and archives within a client's blog to remove duplicate content notices in my Moz reports.
That being said, it MAY have some impact on your position in the SERPs.
I hope that helps.
Best Regards,
Mark

Hi,
Duplicates of this nature can only be fixed by adding canonical tags to one preferred version of that product. When you have multiple instances of the product throughout many categories, search engines aren't sure which to show, so they'll usually not show any of your results. For more on canonical tags, read this Moz article.
You cannot remove it from the Moz report, as that's part of its purpose - to show you instances of duplicate content.

How is Moz DA affected by spam links? Disavow file?
So it does not appear that moz let's you upload your disavow file. So when moz calculates your DA how do spammy links factor in? After digging through our GA it appears our site was hit with the 2016 penguin update and never recovered. Our weekly visitors were 2k, then dropped to 500 and have stayed close to that level for a while. We've used the disavow tool, without success over the past 3 years. During that time we have done link out reach and built around 10 legit good quality DA links since. But we have not recovered. At this point i'm thinking I should just remove the disavow file. Moz says our spam score for our domain is 5%.

My company has about 70 live pages. Moz crawled 6k. Why?
My company has about 70 live, published pages on our website, which is managed through HubSpot. When Moz crawled the URL, it found 6K+. I noticed several were URLs with a campaign tag. Is this normal? It seems excessive to me. If there's a problem, how do I fix it?

Open site explorer: error message "There was an error getting your data"
I"m trying out MOZ, wanting to make an informed decision (for myself and my blogging students) whether this is a useful program to buy and use. I've had no luck so far with the Open Site Explorer. Each time I try, I get the same error message, "There was an error getting your data". I used the URL: http://writetodone.com I asked about the problem in the chat, but my question was posed over an hour ago and is still marked 'unread'... I"m keen to continue studying the program as I'm creating a video about MOZ. How can I make the Open Site Explorer work? I've tried the Analytics module but it seems to take some days to get results. Why does the number of the total external links and the followed linking root domains between Open site explorer and the campaign in Moz pro doesn't match?
Opensiteexplorer returns 52.473 total external links and 715 followed linking root domains while my campaign in Moz analytics return 35.899 total external links and 1092 followed linking root domains. Does anyone knows how this is possible?
