Google stopped showing rich snippets - what does warning mean?
-
Hi,
for our site prams.net, Google stopped showing the rich snippets yesterday. We got the following warning in Webmastertools
"Data with spam structures http://www.prams.net/ may be removed from the search results"
As we have not changed anything for months, I do not know what the reason could be. Here a sample url from our site
http://www.prams.net/brevi-ovo-twin
Does anybody have experience with this and can give me a tip what to change?
Thanks in advance.
Dieter Lang
Here the full message.
Google has found some of your pages markup with structures that violate our quality guidelines for structured data. To provide users with high quality search results, we show detailed search results only for content with markup that meet our quality guidelines. This manual action was against prams.net/ imposed. You should correct the markup and make a request for reconsideration. Having noted that the guidelines for the markup on the pages in question are complied with, we will remove this manual action.
You can resolve this problem as follows:
| 1 |
Update your markup so that it no longer violates our guidelines for structured data
Correct Incorrect markup or remove the markup that is not the content of your page properly.
| See guidelines |
| 2 |Ask a reconsideration request
Once you have corrected your website, you can submit a reconsideration request, so this manual action is canceled. Be specific so that we can understand what changes you have made to your site.

Thanks for your help. We reduced our markup considerably down to the review markup as you suggested.

Looking into the code it seems like there's an excessive amount of markup. Each schema type has various rules about what it should apply to, so it's not hard to violate one of the rules if you're not consciously applying each rule. Just a quick look and I see 13 of these:
itemscope="itemscope"
Not sure what that's supposed to be doing, but I don't think it's correct syntax. Unfortunately looking deeply into a page with so much markup (101 itemprops!) to fix every possible violation is WAY beyond the scope of a question that I can answer here. Generally I'd suggest only using markup where you really want the snippet to appear rather than tagging everything. There's just too much to go wrong.
Beyond that, use Google's structured data testing tool and the structured data section in Webmaster Tools to make sure what you have is working. There are probably some Magento plugins that could handle this for you. Really I think all you need to tag are the product and review-centered markup.
Sorry that didn't help as much as you'd like, but there are dozens of potential minor technical problems to fix. There's enough markup that I can see why Google thinks its spam. In this case, less is probably more. I'd consolidate way down to review markup, make sure it's accurate, and only expand markup carefully once that's working.

Fix your "lowPrice" and "highPrice" markup (remove € and add
priceCurrency)
to be honest, I think it was automatically flagged (same ratings/reviews on multiple urls) and if you can request reconsideration, they'd approve.

Recommended Rich Schema for B2B?
Hey Guys, I normally set up Rich Schema for ecommerce, but wondering your thoughts on rich schema for B2B, specifically a consulting firm. I was thinking: address hours open events We have pages for services, a testimonial page, a page with all the partners, contact us, blog posts. Any thoughts on this?

Google does not index image sitemap
Hi, we put an image sitemap in the searchconsole/webmastertools http://www.sillasdepaseo.es/sillasdepaseo/sitemap-images.xml it contains only the indexed products and all images on the pages. We also claimed the CDN in the searchconsole http://media.sillasdepaseo.es/ It has been 2 weeks now, Google indexes the pages, but not the images. What can we do? Thanks in advance. Dieter Lang

Google serving wrong page...
Hi, When you Google: "Los Angeles divorce attorney", you will see this site on the 5th page of the SERPS: www.berenjifamilylaw.com/blog/. For some reason, Google is serving the BLOG page as opposed to the homepage. This has been going on now for several weeks. Any tips on how to fix this? Obviously, the Homepage is more relevant and has more links going to it, so not sure why it's happening. Would you just leave it alone? Would you use robots.txt to block Google from crawling the BLOG post page? Thanks.

Showing Different Content To Members & Non-Members/Google and Cloaking Risk
How do we safely show logged-in members/Google one type of content on a page and logged out/non-members another kind of content without getting slammed for cloaking? Right now we do this thing where we show Google everything on the page, but new visitors partial forum comments with the pitch to sign up and see full comments. So far, we have not gotten into trouble for this. The new idea is to show non-members a lot of marketing messages and one kind of navigation and then once they sign up and are logged in, show different or no marketing messages and a different kind of navigation. How do we stay out of trouble with this? Where is the cloaking line drawn? It's got me kinda nervous. Thanks... Darcy

Google search results
I have been doing some searches on google to see where my new site shows up, I started using the search words "graphic design firm st. louis" as a gauge, because my title is St. Louis Missouri Graphic Design Firm. I showed up on about page 5 to start , if I include the word "firm" and a few pages further back if I just search "graphic design st. louis", without the word firm. It seemed i was slowly moving up pages with both searches and then a few days ago I jumped to page 1 for search "graphic design firm st. louis" the thing is it doesnt show up at all now if i search "graphic design st. louis" without the word firm. what would cause the one search to jump so high while the other one dissapeared completely?? and what can i do? my keyword density is same for both , any ideas.

Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | ScottBaxterWW
We have been battling our way the Google penguin penalty and have just received our 3 knocked back reconsideration request. I posted a find on here the other day about a simple change of page title made our site jump back up... In the meantime I've built 1 hight quality link back to our site and we have moved again from #50 to #46.Have Google ever removed a penalty without telling you?Should we ask for another reconsideration request? Thanks,

Google Reconsideration Request Without Warning Message First?
Is there ever a circumstance to request a reconsideration through Google Webmaster Tools without having first received some type of warning message from Google? For instance, if its discovered that the site was violating Google's policy for a long time inadvertently, the problem is fixed now, just wanted to let you know. Or is it sort of like don't wake the beast and never communicate with Google unless they initiate the conversation?
