How do you stop Moz crawling a page?
-
Hello,
I have a contact form which generates thousands of duplicate crawl errors. I'm going to use to block Google indexing these pages. Will this also block MOZ from crawling these pages and displaying the error?
Thanks!

this is all well and good and I am able to do these, but how do I keep Moz from crawling an index.php file. our site is http://4signs.com no index file there at all so I'm not sure why it would be crawled.
thoughts?

Hi guys,
Awesome discussion so far Yes, Chris is correct in that using noindex as a way to block Moz is not a effective way to do it. Since our tool is not a typical indexer (such as Google), we don't have some of the behavior of a normal spider. Instead, Roger is very good at rooting out issues that other crawlers might not notice. One thing Roger is also good at is obeying robots.txt.... you know him being a robot and all
You can find more information about our friend here:
http://moz.com/learn/seo/robotstxt http://moz.com/help/pro/rogerbot-crawler
So if you are looking to block it from looking at a page without making content changes to your code, I would definitely look into using robots.txt. You can even use a user-agent specific directive to make sure you don't end up telling other robots/spiders to do the same thing.
I hope that helps! Please let us know if you have questions

On http://moz.com/help/pro/rogerbot-crawler Moz gives an answer to the question "We are still seeing duplicate content on Moz even though we have marked those pages as "noindex, follow. Any idea why?
Moz is not a search engine index, it uses a crawler. If those pages are not blocked by the robots.txt file, then Moz will crawl them. They ignore the noindex tag because they don't index anything. Search engines will honor the noindex tag and not index a page if you specify with the robots meta tag. However, to remove pages from the crawl, disallow them in the robots.txt or metarobots.
Their answer is not exactly clear, but according to it, no, a meta noindex will not block rogerbot from crawling your page.

Hi Gary,
You may find the following link helpful - http://moz.com/learn/seo/robotstxt on top of this you can read how to stop the moz bot here - http://moz.com/help/pro/rogerbot-crawler

Any Moz staff out there with Magento experience?
Would be great to hook up with Moz staff that are Magento-integration savvy. Or maybe qualified users . . . Need to go through Magento Admin in order to correct errors found in Site Crawl. Thanks, Steve

Crawl Test is now On-Demand Crawl!
If you've been with Moz a while, you may have used our old Crawl Test tool. A year ago we launched an all new, campaign-based Site Crawl (with an entirely rebuild crawl engine), but Crawl Test fell into disrepair and we haven't had a solid tool for crawling non-campaign domains. I'm happy to announce that we've just launched an all new On-Demand Crawl, built on the new Site Crawl engine, with a UI that's focused on quick insights. Moz Pro Standard tier customers can run up to 5 crawls per month at 3,000 page per crawl (crawls are saved for 90 days), with per-month limits increasing at higher levels. Most On-Demand Crawls should run in a few minutes, making the tool perfect to get quick insights for sales meetings, vetting prospects, or analyzing competitors. We've written up a sample case study or logged-in customers can go directly to On-Demand Crawl. Try it out -- we'd love to hear your use cases (either here or in the blog post comments).

On Page Grader - URL not accessible
We have tried to use the On Page Grader today and it is coming back with URL not accessible for all pages on our website. We previously used the On Page Grader on Friday 10th Nov for a couple of product pages with no issues. Since then, the only changes we have made on the websites is updating some downloadable documents. We have done this several times before and it has never affected Moz. We have not changed the page URLs, and therefore do not know why it is now not working. The pages are working fine on the website with no issues. A link to one of the pages is below. http://www.processinstruments.co.uk/products/dissolved-oxygen-monitor/ Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Issues with Crawl Test and SSL Certificate
So I have having issues with the Crawl Test being able to crawl my site accurately due to what the tool is saying is a "SSL Certificate Error" (804 : HTTPS (SSL) error encountered when requesting page.) Only thing is that I have no warnings about this SSL issue in Search Console and when I check the SSL on https://www.sslshopper.com it comes back just fine. Anybody know why this might be happening or have encountered this issue before?

Duplicate Page Title query in the PRO Campaign tool
Can someone help me on this. I am seeing duplicate page titles on the PRO Campaign Crawl tool on an ecommerce site for example MOZ is saying that these two pages have a duplicate page title: http://www.cheapsnapframes.co.uk/colour-25mm-snap-frames/25mm-green-snap-frame/a0-traffic-green-snap-frame-25mm/prod_1730.html http://www.cheapsnapframes.co.uk/snap-picture-poster-frames/colour-25mm-snap-frames/green-25mm-snap-frame/a0-traffic-green-snap-frame-25mm/prod_1730.html They are the the same product in two categories. When I view the source of both pages the this link is the same in the meta: <link rel="<a class="attribute-value">canonical</a>" href="[http://www.cheapsnapframes.co.uk/colour-25mm-snap-frames/25mm-green-snap-frame/a0-traffic-green-snap-frame-25mm/prod_1730.html](view-source:http://www.cheapsnapframes.co.uk/colour-25mm-snap-frames/25mm-green-snap-frame/a0-traffic-green-snap-frame-25mm/prod_1730.html)" /> So is there something else I need to have done to erradicate this or is it not an issue? Thanks in advance Tracy
