Is my website indexed correctly in Google - www.couponshop.co.uk
-
Our website www.couponshop.co.uk has just had a relaunch after a change of direction.
A lot of the pages were redirected. When I checked the indexing of the website on Google, I put site:couponshop.co.uk and only two pages come up, but when I put site:www.couponshop.co.uk they all show up.
Is this correct or are we doing something wrong? -
Thank you for your help, I'll get the technical team to look at this.
-
You need to figure out what is going on with u.couponshop.co.uk as there are about 108 pages listed that get mixed up when you search
site:couponshop.co.uk/
If you go to page 9 you then get your https://www.couponshop.com results. What is interesting is out of the 13,000 pages listed the u.couponshop URLs are listed before the www ones. This is an issue.
Those old URLs need to be redirected to the proper URLs on the current site if those URL get traffic or have links to them.
site:u.couponshop.co.uk/
Can be used to find the u.couponshop pages. You will need to look in your server logs to see how often Google is crawling them. You may find that Google is crawling them a fair amount and so you need to get them taken care of. You also want to see if there are any sites linking to these URLs as well to determine if they are of value to you.
Somewhere on your server you are serving up pages with redirects and Google is crawling them and cataloging them and may not be paying as much attention to your new website.
-
It looks like these urls most be from a while back.
The website has never gone down, we just relaunched it with a new design & direction, which was about 2 months ago.
-
Oh I see what you mean, I opened some of the results and they are just 301 redirects (presumably set up by your company?). Were these previous URLs used before your change of direction?
I do get some of the same results (like for the www search, e.g. a link to https://www.couponshop.co.uk/category/Jewellery on page when looking through the 13,100 results but they just seem to be one every once in a while among u.couponshop.co.uk redirects.
When did you relaunch your website?
-
That's not our website.
-
I just did a screenshot of a section of the results, but it does show more results in the actual SERP, see attached image, that's positions 3-10.
-
Thank you for your response. But it only shows our website twice?
https://www.couponshop.co.uk/stores
https://www.couponshop.co.uk -
When I do a search for site:couponshop.co.uk, I get 13,100 results. Is that roughly what you would expect to see? For site:www.couponshop.co.uk I get 13,000 results.

Website homepage temporarily getting removed from google index
hi, website: www.snackmagic.com The home page goes out of google index for some hours and then comes back. We are not sure why our home page is getting de-indexed temporarily. This doesn't happen with other pages on our website. This has been happening intermittently in the gap of 2-3 days. Any inputs will be very useful for us to debug this issue Thanks

Google not Indexing images on CDN.
My URL is: https://bit.ly/2hWAApQ We have set up a CDN on our own domain: https://bit.ly/2KspW3C We have a main xml sitemap: https://bit.ly/2rd2jEb and https://bit.ly/2JMu7GB is one the sub sitemaps with images listed within. The image sitemap uses the CDN URLs. We verified the CDN subdomain in GWT. The robots.txt does not restrict any of the photos: https://bit.ly/2FAWJjk. Yet, GWT still reports none of our images on the CDN are indexed. I ve followed all the steps and still none of the images are being indexed. My problem seems similar to this ticket https://bit.ly/2FzUnBl but however different because we don't have a separate image sitemap but instead have listed image urls within the sitemaps itself. Can anyone help please? I will promptly respond to any queries. Thanks

How best to deal with www.home.com and www.home.com/index.html
Firstly, this is for an .asp site - and all my usual ways of fixing this (e.g. via htaccess) don't seem to work. I'm working on a site which has www.home.com and www.home.com/index.html - both URL's resolve to the same page/content. If I simply drop a rel canonical into the page, will this solve my dupe content woes? The canonical tag would then appear in both www.home.com and www.home.com/index.html cases. If the above is Ok, which version should I be going with? - or - Thanks in advance folks,

How long does it take for Google to index a new site and has anyone experienced serious fluctuations in SERP within 2 weeks after launch?
Hi guys, I have recently launched my ecommerce jewellery site - www.luxuryfinejewellery.com - and noticed some serious swings in SERP over the last couple of weeks. From ranking No 2, 3 and 4 for the keyword 'luxury fine jewellery' on Google.com, the homepage periodically disappears from the Top 50 altogether. I thought it was the Sandbox, as I recently purchased the domain name, within the last 6 weeks, however the fact that it does rank on the 1st page some of the time is a mystery. Has anyone also experienced this? Could you provide some advice on what to expect until the the rankings settle. Thanks in advance, Satbir

.htaccess and www - non www
Recently I have taken over a website and I made a pretty colossal mistake. The site was properly constructed via .htaccess to a www domain. Typically I roll without it and I made a bad assumption that the .htaccess was not previously set correctly because there were hundreds of fundamental mistakes. After a couple of days I noticed the mistake but some of our new (non www) have picked up some solid links etc. So now I feel that I am in a nightmare of creating redirects etc. So should I switch back to WWW or not? Does it matter at this point?
