I keep getting a "Redirect Chain" issue with my contact us page and not sure how to resolve it. I checked my redirect plugin and contact us page is not on there. Not sure where to go on this does anyone have an idea?

Sometimes the http to https redirect can't be avoided. It depends on where you host your website.
Check your code and make sure every reference to /contact/ ends with a trailing slash. That should do the job.

Hey there, Dave from the Help Team!
I can see you have a redirect chain in place from http to https to trailing slash URL: http://www.ctgmanagedit.com/contact > https://www.ctgmanagedit.com/contact > https://www.ctgmanagedit.com/contact/
We report these because anytime a chain could be rewritten as a single rule, it will help to improve link equity and user experience.
Hopefully that helps, if you need more clarification, let us know here or feel free to write in to us at help@moz.com!

Expired Domain Redirect

How long will it take for google to reindex 301 redirected url and refresh search results with new urls.
We have set up 301 redirects for some subdomains which we are planning to use, but then we changed our focus to main domain. Google has already crawled some of the subdomain pages. As it was duplicate content over subdomains and main domain, we have set up 301 redirects for all subdomains to redirect to the main domain. We have set up 301 redirects a month ago, but some of the search results still show old URLs. Do you need something extra for google search results to refresh with main domain and remove subdomain URLs from google searches? We need rankings to be passed new URLs.

Low Internal Equity-Passing Links: Open Ste Explorer Issue
Does anyone know why Open Site Explorer shows so few Internal Equity Passing Links? When a page is part of the main navigation of a website and the website has over 3500 pages indexed in Google with high DA's why would the Open Site Explorer number be so low? I have run scans on other tools and see a much larger number than OSE reports. Thoughts? Has anyone else ever experienced that?

Open Site Explorer is finding old html Files that havn't been on my site in two years... even after a 301 Redirect. HELP!
Hello!
Link Explorer | | morganlindsaycole
My problem started when I became aware that when I checked my backlinks for the past two years, it states that no backlinks have been found. When I ran a site analysis on SEMrush - No backlinks are found on the URL, or Domain. There are 7 Backlinks on the Root Domain and those were configured in 2012. I made a second domain www.columbusweddingphotographersreviews.comwhere I linked to my domain at www.morganlindsayphotography.com so I could test that google had crawled both websites and after, still no backlink was found. I have also been published on a dozen or so wedding websites that has linked to my website where they are follow links and still nothing. (http://www.brendasweddingblog.com/blogs/2015/2/23/an-elegant-fall-wedding-in-ohio-with-morgan-lindsay-photography) **Website Background- **
In 2012 I had two separate websites - One for Seniors that was an HTML website I build in Dreamweaver at www.morganlindsayphotography/seniors and another for Wedding Clients found at www.morganlindsayphotography.com/Wedding - (wordpress) I had a Splash page wish was found atwww.morganlindsayphotography.com. Two years ago when I became aware splash pages were frowned upon in Google, I combined the two websites and stayed with the Wordpress which was www.morganlindsayphotography.com/Wedding
Because I did not want users to have to go to www.morganlindsayphotography.com/Wedding to view my url, Godaddy moved my wordpress site from thewww.morganlindsyphotography.com/Wedding directory towww.morganlindsayphotography.com When I ran the Open Site Explorer with Moz I found after runningwww.morganlindsayphotography.com the TOP pages on this domain according to Page Authority are old HTML files from my senior website, as well as old Posts from when my wordpress site was found atwww.moragnlindsayphotography.com/Weddings
No current pots or pages are showing up besideswww.morganlindsyphotography.com I do run a cache management system to speed up my system and recently cleaned out my .htcacess folder and still had no luck. This is difficulty something **Last night I made a 301 Redirect in my htaccess for all the old links pointing to the new links as best as I could. My htacess folder looks like this.. BEGIN WordPress <ifmodule mod_rewrite.c="">RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]</ifmodule> END WordPress Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /Wedding http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /Wedding/ http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /about.html http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/about-morgan-lindsay/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /app.html http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/blog/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /experience.html http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/senior-sessions/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /index.html http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /senior.html http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/ohio-senior-photographer/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /seniorsconstruction.html http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/ohio-senior-photographer/ Permanent URL redirect - generated by www.rapidtables.com Redirect 301 /Wedding/2012/06/22/brittany-reis-jason-mcclaflin-tiffin-ohio-wedding/ http://www.morganlindsayphotography.com/holy-family-church-columbus-wedding/ After I ran the open site moz explorer and the www.morganlindsayphotography/Wedding was still there..0 -
Moz can't crawl domain due to IP Geo redirect loop
Hi, I'm trying to crawl our domain www.salvationarmy.org.au via my Moz account and it only ever returns results for one page when it should be crawling more than 3,000 pages. In talking to support, they have said that because of the redirect we have in place it is creating a 302 loop and therefore not delivering results. Usually in this case I would obtain Moz's IP addresses and add them to the redirect settings as an exception, but Moz have said they use cloud-based services for crawling so the IPs change all the time. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this issue? At this point I've paid for a year's subscription to a product I can't use. Thanks, Mel

Open Site Explorer not reporting all 301 redirected links
Our site had over 2,000 root domains linking to it as reported in MOZ Open Site Explorer (and Google Webmaster Tools). We then changed the domain and made sure that 301 redirects were set up for all pages across the site. That was about 1 month ago. Open Site Explorer is now reporting less than 300 linking root domains. For the links that it is reporting the majority of these are being 301 redirected to the new URLs (some of them we changed the links directly). However the majority of the links that are being 301 redirected are not being reported. It is reporting most of the links coming from the old to the new domain. Google Webmaster Tools is reporting over 1,000 linking root domains to the new domain (it has a max of 1,000). We did notice that MOZ took some time to update the domain authority of the new domain. It was 1 for along time and it has now jumped up to 46 ( it was previously at 74). Maybe this is a time delay thing and eventually Open Site Explorer will report all of the 301 redirected links? It is a bit frustrating at the moment as we can't fully analyse the links to the site to try to focus on the high domain linking sites to get them to change the link directly. Also, If all links are being 301 redirected to the new domain should the authority not be close to where it was previously after one month? Our search traffic has dropped considerably since the launch of the new site and hasn't returned yet, so just wondering if the 301 redirected links pass on as much value as thre original direct links. Thanks, Damien
