Ranking in .com .fr .de but not in my target .cz serp?
-
Hello,
our website is targeted for the Czech Republic. When I monitor our rankings, we have very high rankings in all of the other SERPs like .com and .fr .de but we are in the very end of CZ serp.
Not CZ is the only SERP where we have two languages (Czech which is on subdomain cs.domain.com and domain.com which is for english). Now i am concerned about the example.com.
Why is it not ranking at all (very low in czech serp like 130 vs 10-15 in other serps)
We have used href lang tags to specify the language
I think
- Can it be because of my cs. domain is optimized for a keyword which is not the example.com keyword ? (I think this is not the reason) - my example.com domain optimization is for "Kids clothes in Czech Republic" but cs domain for "Used clothes in Czech Republic"
- is it a linking issue? Should I have more local Czech links?
Im out of ideas.

Did you try to add a third hreflang annotation like this?
You can assign more than 1 hreflang annotation to an Url.
Maybe you could test this idea for a subfolder that you can easily track on Search Console.

Mmm... now I understand your question, and - yes - that sounds weird.
Sincerely, without knowing the site and for what keywords it doesn't rank with its English version in CZ for English queries, I cannot give an answer.

Hello,
Thanks! That is a great answer. My question was not more why is not my subdomain ranking but why is not my example.com domain ranking for English queris in Czech SERP.
This would mean that if a person googles in google.cz "Cars in Czech" they should get my example.com domain and if they google in Czech language they get my cs. domain.
My issue is that example.com is ranking everywhere except in google.cz for english terms. (subdomain is not an issue, its ranking). I analyzed the keyword difficulties and this is not an issue. English terms in google.cz are lot easier in KD than in google.com for example...

If the sites are in two different languages, then canonicalizing the CZ version to the EN version is not only a mistake: it's stupid because you're telling Google: "Hey, this is the Czech version of the site, but I don't care... so show the English version to Czech people".
Even if the two sites have the same language but target different markets, it would be wrong cross-canonicalize one of them.
The use of the hreflang is a win-win also for this reason: avoiding duplicate content issues... so, if you cross-canonicalized the two sites, quit that canonicalization ASAP!!!
Then, regarding how the hreflang has been implemented by you, that is ok... albeit no positive response can be given in a Q&A without seeing the actual code.
Finally, regarding why your CZ subdomain is not ranking in google.cz as the English version does elsewhere... the answer is easy (at least in theory, as - I repeat - no real answer can be given without knowing the website): your cz subdomain is a separate website and probably doesn't have a strong link profile, at least not as strong as its competitors.
And, no: even if your english website has a strong link profile, it is not helping at all the cz subdomain.
-
Hello,
Yes they are the exact same except different language.
What do you mean? That we canonicalize the cs.example.com to example.com? E.g the homepage of example.com has <link < span="">rel="canonical" href="https://example.com/"></link <>
Reading online I see that this is not recommended. I changed the double tags now that the one href lang tag is just "En" and others "cs-cz". This is correct I presume?

We are using a classified advertisement palfrom Osclass which does not support this. But this can not be the reason why my. Com domain ranks in other serp but not CZ, can it?
If it is then I will only choose one language and rank that.. But yes os class for some reason still does not support language tags. I can not use same database to install to /CZ the community has tried this.
So you think because I have cs subdomain and the main domain my rankings in Czech serp are so. So much lower? (were talking about. Com ranking from top 10-15 in all other serps and 120 in CZ. The keyword difficult is not so much different for example for Co.uk and CZ for English terms.

How to effectively de-index in Magento site?
We have thousands of Missing Description issues but most of them are account/login pages. i.s. /customer/account/ etc... We tried to de-index them through the Configuration using the instructions here - https://docs.magento.com/user-guide/marketing/search-engine-robots.html But they're still appearing as issues in the Site Crawl. Even without the site crawl issue, we don't really want these to appear in the SERPs. Does anybody know how to properly de-index these login pages in Magento? Thank you!

Some Old date showing in SERP
I see some old date Jan 21 2013 showing up for some categories in Google search results. These are category pages and I do not see the date in view source. This is not a wordpress site or a blog page. We keep changing this page by removing/adding items so it is not outdated.

Rankings Issues
website: trophycentral.com Back in February of this year, we took a huge rankings hit on Google. We thought it might be Panda related, but realized it was before the big change. We also thought it could be related to our Mobile rollout and a wholesale system we put in place, but were not sure. Most pages were fine, but our home page was hit hard and taken off line, included for branded terms (although the branded terms came back in a couple of weeks). There were no manual actions against us. We made a ton of changes with the mobile site, crawl issues, reducing links, reviewing and removing potentially bad outside links, etc. After a few months (long time!) almost all of our keywords came back except one, trophies. We used to rank in the top few positions and now are not in the top 500. We believe we are being penalized, but have no idea why this one keyword is being impacted. It is obviously a huge one for us and we want to get it back. Does anyone have any ideas as to why Trophies is not ranking on our home page. We are grateful that we have many other words and phrases in the top 5 positions (not pages) of google, yahoo and bing, but on Google, we cant seem to get trophies to even show up! Please help!!! Thanks!!!

Sudden SERP drop?
I'm wondering why my mainpage of my site just disappeared from google while a post from my site ranks at #11 on google. I currently only have 1 .edu backlink to it and the anchor text is my url site : http://www.domain.c0m What is the meaning of this? I checked my on page optimization and I got an A. The only problem I saw with my site was keyword stuffing on the homepage because my posts contain the keyword and its listed 26 times on the homepage but that shouldn't be the problem.

Event Landing Pages not ranking
Hi there I need to optimize the website of a club/concert venue. The site isn't bad and has authority, but the event pages don't seem to rank and I'm unsure about the reason. There is an overview page of the events: http://www.kaufleuten.ch/events/ What happens currently when clicking on a specific event (on "WEITER", top right of each event) is that users get redirected to a hashtag page by jQuery. The href of "WEITER" itself links to another landing page (which is IMO the one we should see ranking for the specific event). Here is a concrete example: Look at the event "Tanz & Konzert: Andreas Vollenweider, Seven & ROKPA-KIDS" on /events by clicking on "WEITER", you get directed to http://www.kaufleuten.ch/events/#2790/andreas-vollenweider the actual "WEITER" link in the source code though, points to the landing page http://www.kaufleuten.ch/event/andreas-vollenweider/ This seems to be done by an AJAX load: jQuery loads a DIV with the ID "ajax-content". Apparently, this is the code responsible for it: $(„.link“, click(function() {
Technical SEO | | zeepartner
el.find('.wrapper').load(target+' #ajax-content', function() {
});
return false;
}); I know the site has good authority and should rank well. however, the event landing pages never seem to appear, but only the page /events is ranking: SERP
(Strangely, when using the site command, the event page suddenly appears above: SERP. (But I have never seen this in a "normal search query", even though we are the organisers and should at least be among the top 5). Now my question: Does Google consider this AJAX load to be some sort of cloaking? (because the href in the code is different to you actually end up by clicking "WEITER"). Will the landing pages begin to rank if we disable this AJAX load? Or should we stick to hashtags and not even create landing pages? (but then, we will have no control over title tags of specific events, right?) Thanks for your help, I'm a bit lost here as my JS knowledge is meagre... Cheers,

Using Blogger.com
I have a client that is currently using blogger.com for their blog. I don't have much experience with this site as I have mostly used Wordpress in the past. Are there any good SEO plugins/tools for this site? Thanks!

Why do I rank so differently in Bing and Yahoo?
Howdy SEOmozers, I've noticed that I rank very differently in Bing and Yahoo compared to Google (and it’s the bad kind of different) for many of the terms that I'm targeting. Can anyone give some advice on how I can put this right or link me to some good resources about the differences in their ranking algorithms? Thanks Paul
