It's fairly common for Google to "test" ranking a brand-new page pretty high for a relevant query, and then after a little while, for that page to settle into where it will be ranking long-term. The good news is that Google is finding your new pages and understanding their targeted queries; the bad news is that they're not sending enough of the signals Google needs for them to rank that well long-term. Some things that will help:
- Work to boost your organic click-through rate through better calls to action in your title and description tags.
- Look at what happens when people click through to the page from organic search, during those first few days when the page ranks well. Are they spending a decent amount of time on the page? Are they moving deeper into the site? Or are they bouncing right away? It's likely that google is using user data such as click-through rate, pogo-sticking and dwell time to determine whether or not the page is a good result for that query.
- Make sure the pages you're creating are robust and provide a complete answer to the query, and, if possible, point users to a next step in their research or decision process.
- Brooks is correct that building up your domain authority over time will also help you rank better, so that should definitely be part of your long-term plans.

Hi brook.
Thanks for your response and here is your answers:
1- but after just a short period of time, you are no longer ranking at all?
of course i get ranked. usually my new contents (or new pages) are showing in page 2 or 3 after one or two days of publishing! in fact i have a problem with 3 or 4 keywords at all.
3 or 4 very important and HARD competitive keywords. i got some ranks in the first place but after a while they were disappeared from the results for good!
some keywords like: خرید بلیط هواپیما , بلیط هواپیما , خرید بلیط ارزان هواپیما
(linked to page: https:://zomorodgasht.com/flights)
2- you have (from what I can tell) a very low domain authority
yeah unfortunately my domain is too much young (only 1 year) so there is a low DA / PA for this domain and my pages.
but i have some good quality backlinks (G web master tells more than 1,700 links backed to my site)
thanks for your help and i would be happy if you help me with the issue.
best regards

Hello!
To start, I love your flight animation on your homepage!
I'm sorry, but just to clarify: you were ranking very well for some keywords (results showing your site on page 1 or 2), but after just a short period of time, you are no longer ranking at all?
I will say, the only thing I've noticed on your website, without too much information, is that you have (from what I can tell) a very low domain authority. So I would assume you have very few links to your site, if any. Moz's Open Site Explorer doesn't show any backlinks. This is where I would start, to establish some credibility and authority.
If you can give any more information, I'd be happy to help you process further.

Dynamic Canonical Tag for Search Results Filtering Page
Hi everyone, I run a website in the travel industry where most users land on a location page (e.g. domain.com/product/location, before performing a search by selecting dates and times. This then takes them to a pre filtered dynamic search results page with options for their selected location on a separate URL (e.g. /book/results). The /book/results page can only be accessed on our website by performing a search, and URL's with search parameters from this page have never been indexed in the past. We work with some large partners who use our booking engine who have recently started linking to these pre filtered search results pages. This is not being done on a large scale and at present we only have a couple of hundred of these search results pages indexed. I could easily add a noindex or self-referencing canonical tag to the /book/results page to remove them, however it’s been suggested that adding a dynamic canonical tag to our pre filtered results pages pointing to the location page (based on the location information in the query string) could be beneficial for the SEO of our location pages. This makes sense as the partner websites that link to our /book/results page are very high authority and any way that this could be passed to our location pages (which are our most important in terms of rankings) sounds good, however I have a couple of concerns. • Is using a dynamic canonical tag in this way considered spammy / manipulative? • Whilst all the content that appears on the pre filtered /book/results page is present on the static location page where the search initiates and which the canonical tag would point to, it is presented differently and there is a lot more content on the static location page that isn’t present on the /book/results page. Is this likely to see the canonical tag being ignored / link equity not being passed as hoped, and are there greater risks to this that I should be worried about? I can’t find many examples of other sites where this has been implemented but the closest would probably be booking.com. https://www.booking.com/searchresults.it.html?label=gen173nr-1FCAEoggI46AdIM1gEaFCIAQGYARS4ARfIAQzYAQHoAQH4AQuIAgGoAgO4ArajrpcGwAIB0gIkYmUxYjNlZWMtYWQzMi00NWJmLTk5NTItNzY1MzljZTVhOTk02AIG4AIB&sid=d4030ebf4f04bb7ddcb2b04d1bade521&dest_id=-2601889&dest_type=city& Canonical points to https://www.booking.com/city/gb/london.it.html In our scenario however there is a greater difference between the content on both pages (and booking.com have a load of search results pages indexed which is not what we’re looking for) Would be great to get any feedback on this before I rule it out. Thanks!

Please help me figure out if my website is penalized? It is not in the search result page for the phrase that is original to it.
I just searched Google for the phrase that is original to my website (yourappliancerepairla.com😞 "LG actually has a very large and well respected home appliances business", and Google didn't bring my website at all. Does this mean that my website is penalized?

Local search results appearing above Organic
Hello, I've just performed a search for the query 'outdoor clothing' using Google Incognito mode and I've added the screenshots below to show my findings. The first attempt at the search only showed local results then when I clicked search again adverts were shown. I found this very odd, normally I'd see the local results after the 3rd of 4th organic result.Have Google changed their algorithm or is this just random? http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/8643/incognito1.jpg http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/6382/incognito2jf.jpg Thanks, Dan

Website disappeared from Google organic keyword searches.
We have an auto repair company as a client www.autorepairauroratilden.com who for the better part of a year their website had ruled the 1st page organic Google search results. Their website, Blogs, Facebook, and Twitter all came up on page one for their keyword searches. On May 13th, it all came to a screeching halt. The website is nowhere to be found for any of their keywords (example: brake repair Aurora.) There are a couple of blogs on page 2 but it’s nothing like it was prior to May 13th. On May 12th we published 5 branded websites for this client – Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Jeep, and Toyota, all on separate URL’s. All the page titles, keywords, and descriptions were specifically branded to the individual websites as were all the keywords. Since the beginning of June we’ve taken down the 5 branded websites and we’ve gone through our keywords on the auto repair website. The website was last crawled on June 11th. We still do not have any page 1 placement or for that matter any page placement. I checked 10 pages out. We have a 2nd auto repair client that has been running their website as well as their 5 branded websites a couple of months longer than this client and we’ve had no problems with any of their websites and keyword search results. How do we fix this?

Do a Google search for: opensiteexplorer . The 2nd (may vary) result is an seoMOZ blog post, "Brand New Open Site Explorer is Here (and Linkscape's Updated, too)". Google is displaying Rand's pic and google profile link in the search result. How? Can't find the Google profile link in the seoMOZ page source.

How does google know a search result is a search result?
In the google webmaster forums, google specifically states that you should not include search results in the google index. What is the best way to make dynamic, great content show in search results without receiving a penalty?

Why was my homepage kicked out from results, but not my internal pages?
My domain's homepage has been ranking 1st position for an specific term for about 8 months. Our domain got hacked and it took just one day to make the website right again. A week after our homepage didn't appear anymore in Google results, it isn't even indexed. However the rest of our internal pages keep being indexed and ranking as usual. How can I make my homepage appear again in the results? Is there a way to speed up this process? Will it be in the same position as before, or will it have some sort of penalization for the hacking?
