DA dropped down to 17 from 32
-
Hi Team,
I have observed that DA of website https://www.sonicseats.com/ is dropped down to 17 from 32 after MOZ 2.0 DA Algorithm Update. Though I can see that there is linear improvement observed on Moz. Please help me know in detail about the drop and how can it be improved further as Moz does not give the option to disavow bad back links.
Thanks

As far as I know when something makes new update they change lots of things. That's not only you but many other people facing this same problem. But creating good content, fix on page and internal linking for a good result.

Hi Katherine,
Thanks for your response. Actually disavowing bad links in Google search console creates no impact on DA of a website as DA is taken care by Moz and Google Search Console is a Google's product. Moz has declared that disavowing bad links in Google Search Console has nothing to do with DA of your website. Moz does not provide a way to disavow bad links. For reference, Please check https://moz.com/community/q/if-we-put-the-disavow-links-in-google-does-moz-crawl-the-same-links

I have noticed a drop in my DA but it wasn't as dramatic as yours. Personally, I use Google's Disavow Tools to get rid of the spammy links. I've noticed that there are a lot of spammy links in my backlink profile (which I have a suspicion it is one of my competitors). So I now do a full backlink audit every month and submit to Google my disavow file. This has helped to reduce my spam score and one of the main reasons I think my DA didn't drop too much.

I too have the same problem for my website https://www.kartzhub.com

Domain Authority dropping for me and rival companies
Hey, I have noticed in the past week/2 weeks that my websites domain authority has dropped by 2 points but what is weird is all the other website which are our main competitors in our industry have also dropped by 2. I was wondering if anyone knows of any changes that have been made to the way the domain authority is calculated or is it just a coincident that we all dropped at one time?

Search traffic steady, Landing pages receiving traffic had massive drop
Following the week of Google's major algorithm update in January, we saw this graph in our Moz dashboard. (green bars are # of landing pages receiving traffic from search, blue line is traffic from search) Traffic from SEO grew slightly, but number of landing pages receiving traffic fell by more than 50%. We didn't make any changes to sitemap, rel=canonical, number of pages being published, etc. Traffic from top keywords held consistent. Number of pages/images google crawled and indexed grew per webmaster tools. Big spike in Nov/Dec is because we are in retail, seasonal not technical issues. Is anyone else experience the same thing? An algo change? Or something more specific to our site? Quality traffic is what we care about, so number of pages traffic is going to could be a positive thing (easier to optimize). But jury is out. Major Keyword Ranking Drops INCORRECT
For multiple clients I have seen a drop of more than 10 ranking spots for keywords we previously placed well for and made no changes to those pages. We decided to manually check where the pages are and majority of these keywords showing crazy declines are really sitting in position #2 without SPYW, with the rest still being in on 1st page. Now we have to personally check these dropping rankings and manually change them for reports. Any reason for this? Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Do keywords in drop-down menus count?
In running one of my campaigns in SEOMoz Pro, it was recommended that I reduce the amount of times a keyword is used to 15. On the actual page, there are fewer than 15, but when you include the number of times it is used in drop-downs from the nav bar, the number is 53. I know there is really no hard and fast rule about how many instances of a keyword make for keyword stuffing and the drop-downs only use the term where needed. Without it's use, it would be difficult to navigate the site. Is this a problem or should I focus on more important fixes?

Why is my domain authority dropping?
I have been fixing broken links, doing a lot of on-site SEO keyword and page title improvement, and steadily building inbound links. Yet my domain authority and MozRanking is dropping, though my keyword rankings are improving. What is going on? Should I be concerned? How can I find out why my domain ranking is dropping, and how (and should I) fix this? Is this because I do not have a blog yet? What factors determine domain authority?
