SEO Industry Contracts, Resumes, & Jobs
-
We're in the process of looking to hire link builders & content managers in the Chicago area. While I know it's not a "core function" of SEOmoz, the SEO Industry Jobs section has been very helpful to us. Unfortunately, it's not easily searchable/filterable by geography.
I think the Moz resume & job-board could be a lot more helpful with some updates, including filter by geography.
Anyone else have any suggestions?

Hello there,
Craigslist is probably the way to go. I seen yahoo.com and even google.com posting in some IT category, and professionals posting their resumes as well.
www.careerbuilder.com got peoples resumes by geo.
Good Luck

Multiple Countries, Same Language: Receiving Duplicate Page & Content Errors
Hello! I have a site that serves three English-speaking countries, and is using subfolders for each country version: United Kingdom: https://site.com/uk/ Canada: https://site.com/ca/ United States & other English-speaking countries: https://site.com/en/ The site displayed is dependent on where the user is located, and users can also change the country version by using a drop-down flag navigation element in the navigation bar. If a user switches versions using the flag, the first URL of the new language version includes a language parameter in the URL, like: https://site.com/uk/blog?language=en-gb In the Moz crawl diagnostics report, this site is getting dinged for lots of duplicate content because the crawler is finding both versions of each country's site, with and without the language parameter. However, the site has rel="canonical" tags set up on both URL versions and none of the URLs containing the "?language=" parameter are getting indexed. So...my questions: 1. Are the Duplicate Title and Content errors found by the Moz crawl diagnostic really an issue? 2. If they are, how can I best clean this up? Additional notes: the site currently has no sitemaps (XML or HTML), and is not yet using the hreflang tag. I intend to create sitemaps for each country version, like: .com/en/sitemap.xml .com/ca/sitemap.xml .com/uk/sitemap.xml I thought about putting a 'nofollow' tag on the flag navigation element, but since no sitemaps are in place I didn't want to accidentally cut off crawler access to alternate versions. Thanks for your help!

Q&A alert e-mails no longer contain links back to the question referenced in the e-mail
How does everyone feel about no longer having direct links back to questions we may have answered or asked in the e-mails? Until just recently when somebody commented on a question you had commented on easily you were able to click a link and see if it was maybe another question for you if you had not been clear enough the first time or if you needed to give more info whatever the need you had a link directly to The question referenced in the email. Now all I can do is click on the person's profile which unfortunately does not get me back to Q&A to reply if needed to any questions. I have to go through all the steps again and find it strange why you guys would remove the link going straight to the question being referenced in the email. PS I love you and look the at new e-mails they look great. This is not anything big, but it was a nice advantage, and I will happily give up for all the great stuff you guys are giving us now. However if it would not be a burden I would love to see you back in their how does everyone else feel? Sincerely, Thomas Von Zickell

SEO moz poor rankings reporting
How are we supposed to send ranking reports to clients if the rankings are constantly reporting false metrics This is not the first time this has happened, but the rankings are WAAAAAAY off. What is the point of reporting rankings that are not accurate? What is the possible cause of this. Is there a solution? What is SEOmoz doing to improve their ranking programs. Our client actually ranked #2 for "northern Virginia HVAC contractors" when moz had us not in the top 50! How are we supposed to bank on information that is so consistently unreliable? northernvirginiahvaccontractors.png northernvirginiahvaccontractorsrank.png

Issue getting total links, page & domain authority
Hi guys, I am trying to get total links, page & domain authority using the API. I am requesting the following columns: Cols=6871947673632768328204816384343597383681653687091214 { "fjid": 207343179, "ued": 43324279, "pib": 255645, "ptrr": 0.0056131743357352125, "fmrp": 8.246626591590841, "unid": 954915, "fjf": 4003651, "fjr": 0.00040067116628622016, "ftrp": 8.308303969566644, "ftrr": 0.0012189619975325583, "fejp": 9.265328830369816, "pnid": 45883246, "fjd": 2480265, "ujfq": 1277385, "pjip": 1230240, "fjp": 9.586342983782004, "fuid": 294877628, "uu": "www.google.com/", "pejr": 0.0004768398971363439, "ufq": "www.google.com/", "pejp": 9.647424778525615, "ujp": 300689, "utrp": 7.916901429865898, "ptrp": 9.487254666203722, "utrr": 0.001639219985667878, "fmrr": 0.000731592927123369, "pda": 100, "pjd": 5600882, "ulc": 1342758719, "fnid": 12165784, "fejr": 0.00016052965883996156, "ujb": 107264 } I cannot see the UPA column returned in the JSON object. Hey from a New guy to SEO
Hi everybody!!! Hope everybody is dandy. Have spent a long time looking into SEOmoz and decided to just take the plunge and see what happens. Im quite new to the world of SEO but I really want to get good at it. Hoping Moz and this community will aid with this! Currently in the process of reading the SEO beginners guide and the SEOmoz user guide! The two sites that I am currently working on are: 1. www.advanced-incar.co.uk 2. www.advanced-incarcamerasystems.com The first site seems to have crawled well and have entered my competitors and am getting some info back (looks like I have a lot of work to do judging by the errors D'oh) In the world of Google what is the best way to ensure you have authority on certain terms. For instance if I search advanced-incar we are top and we have all our sitelinks underneath etc etc, but when I search advanced incar we are second and as such we don't display sitelinks. Any ideas? The second site was built using 1&1 and gives us a good little site for what we need. I have found out through research the most popular keywords are in car camera & in car cameras. Currently Im using Adwords to get us sponsored hits which is getting us some nice traffic but costing a bit. Those are the two main keywords i want this site to really hit home with. Any advice? Also on this site, when I go to SEOmoz and select Link Analysis I get no info. It just shows 0 or 0.0 wheras my competitor sites all have values against them. Is something wrong with my site or what im doing? (Have added an example screenshot) I appreciate its a long ended question but would really appreciate some help. Hoping that the guides will help me understand all this linkjuice stuff etc as well! Thanks guys, really appreciative of any info you can provide. SEO Tools; which ones can you NOT live without?
There's loads of free and paid SEO tools out there and I'm trying to find out which ones make up a common denominator for most professional SEOs.

How do you prioritize your SEO efforts?
If you're an in-house marketing person, almost by definition, you're neither a specialist or expert in the variety of things one might do to improve SEO. We do a bunch of stuff in-house and hire people for other stuff that needs to be done and the work is never complete! What do you do, as the de facto in-house, on-staff "expert" for SEO? I'm purposely leaving this question fairly open-ended to solicit advise, ideas & direction to develop a framework and a guide for our efforts. Also, I'm not intentionally ruling out pro's...I'm open to your opinions too - but I will probably only hire you unless you have a full tool bag of skills that include the ability to write auto-responders, write & blog relevant content, set up and monitor page rank, do SEO, set up AdWords campaigns, etc. at a the nice price. And I'll only do that if I can't do/learn/achieve all of the above to a certain degree on my own. Although I'll probably never stop questioning processes, costs and everything else associated with hiring a pro...all of which will make me a pain-in-the-butt client you probably don't want. Thanks!

How does the PRO Q&A forum work?
OK, so the SEOMoz PRO Q&A forum is officially awesome since the redesign. It works amazingly well guys - thanks for a great resource! I'm wondering, what technologies have you used to make it work so well? Is the Q&A forum totally custom, or does it run on top of another 3rd-party / open source / web app structure? We're thinking about doing something similar for our business (not in the SEO space, so don't worry 😉
