Unsolved Inbound links
-
hi
what is the differences between "redirect" and "rel=canonical" tags in Inbound links report? -
Hello! In terms of the Inbound Links report, the "redirect" and "rel=canonical" tags serve different purposes.
A "redirect" is a technique used to forward users and search engines from one URL to another. When a redirect occurs, the user's browser is automatically taken to a new URL, while the old URL is no longer accessed. This helps maintain the flow of visitors and preserve SEO value from the old URL to the new one.
On the other hand, the "rel=canonical" tag is used to address duplicate content issues. It is added to the HTML header of a web page and indicates the preferred version of the content when there are multiple URLs with similar or identical content. The tag tells search engines which URL should be treated as the primary source and indexed, helping to avoid potential penalties for duplicate content.
In summary, a "redirect" is used to redirect users and search engines to a different URL, while the "rel=canonical" tag is used to specify the preferred URL for indexing purposes, helping to consolidate ranking signals and avoid duplicate content issues.

Redirect links are used to point a user or search engine crawler from one URL https://blacktiedetailing.com/ to another. They are typically employed when a web page has moved or been renamed, ensuring that users and search engines can still access the content even if the URL has changed.
-
Redirects are better for web crawlers because they tell them where to go. Canonical tags are better for people using browsers to navigate the page.
Canonical tags work by letting the crawlers know which version of the page is preferred. That's how both these tools work and what makes them different from each other.

@pawannn having reviewed the landing page the canonical & robots directives are set correctly. The page header status is 200 ok and does not have a redirect chain. However, the page is not indexed in Google. I would recommend you to:
a) Inspect live URL in Google Search Console to debug why the page is not indexed.
b) Set up a CDN like Cloudflare. This has helped boost the indexation rate for a few of my clients recently who have also been facing a similar problem.
Please note: I have no personal gain or am not advertising on behalf of Cloudflare. It is merely used as an example. You may choose any alternate CDN provider.

Maybe you can use Ratio 2:1 to inbound and outbound link, So you can look like this : https://webolize.com/
-
Use canonicals when you have two or more pages that have the same content. You should place the canonical of your preferred page version (the page that should rank in a search engine like Google). This helps to avoid a content duplication issue,
Use 301 redirects for pages that have a contribution in terms of traffic and/or backlinks but are moved to a newer or an alternate page and the old page is no longer required. 301 redirects will pass on the value of the old page to the new page and not negatively impact SEO.

Unsolved Can you explain the importance of backlinks in SEO, and how does Moz's link analysis tools help in understanding and improving a website's backlink profile?
Absolutely! Backlinks play a crucial role in SEO as they are like 'votes of confidence' from other websites. They indicate to search engines that your content is valuable and trustworthy. Moz's link analysis tools, such as 'Link Explorer,' provide insights into a website's backlink profile. This includes information about the number of backlinks, referring domains, spam score, and anchor text distribution.

Unsolved Inbound Links Sudden Decline
Hi,
Link Explorer | | Jane090987
There is a question of my site that the number of linking domains has experienced a sudden decline - lost inbound links for around 100k in several days.
We are wondering the reason of this sudden decline, is it a common fluctation or is there some problems in our site? Thanks for your answers in advance!0 -

Unsolved Anyone else finding that the Link Intersection tool is not accurate?
I ran the Link Intersect tool on my site vs competitor's site. The first 3 domains it tells me the competitor has links from but I do not are: medium.com, behance.net, and moz.com. I thought this was odd because I know for a fact I built profiles with a link on all 3 sites. So, I went to all 3 and found my links on these sites. I also double-checked in the Google search console and they show up there. Am I understanding the tool wrong? Is it really showing me sites we both have vs what I don't have?
