Will a javascript rewrite of city names on a home page from PPC traffic affect SEO negatively?
-
We have a client that was originally based out of Orlando and the entire website is SEO'ed for Orlando.
In the long term we will start SEO'ing for Tampa.
But In the short term, we want to drive traffic from Tampa to the website but we want that traffic to know the business specializes in Tampa service (he has local teams there).
We are already using a ?_vsrefdom=changemynumber to change the phone number dynamically to a tampa area code for tracking purposes.
We want to dynamically change all iterations of 'Orlando' with 'Tampa' using the same javascript. Does this cause any SEO problems or trip any alarms with Google?

Hello,
Another solution that could also help at your conversion rates would be to make a landing page, specific for Tampa. Include great text, Calls to action and track your results.
A landing page can make wonders for any PPC Campaign. -
I don't think that's a terribly good idea. First off, Google probably won't be able to tell you replaced the text so it will still say "Orlando" to them. Bots don't reliably run JS. Could it be cloaking? Possibly, but you're not doing it to trick anyone. Still, not a good idea to risk it.
What I would do is make a new page for Tampa. Make it unique, add your Tampa address (local search!) and start SEO efforts. Focus your efforts on Tampa and let Orlando just sit. There's no reason you can't rank well for both.

Competitor bidding on our company name
Hi,
Paid Search Marketing | | ChrisHolgate
I'll keep this one short and sweet! We've noticed just recently that a number of competitors are bidding on our company name, clearly with the intention of being listed above our organic result. I'm certain that Google used to allow us to bid on our own company name for a negligible amount but now it looks like we're going to have to chase £1 odd per click to obtain customers who are actively searching for us. Can anything be done about this or is it now nature of the beast that we're going to have to have a price war on bidding on our own company name? Thanks for your help! Chris1 -

Negative Keywords
This will end up being a two part question: We have been running a search marketing campaign for about 45 days. It seems no matter how many negative keywords we add (over 300 right now), we still are receiving borderline relevant traffic to the broad match ad group. We are in the printing industry and I think this in itself presents a challenge since there are thousands of competitors in our market, national & local. People also search for a variety of items, most of which end up having nothing to do with our business (i.e. animal prints, zebra prints etc.) We are running several different ad groups: one exact match, one broad and one phrase match. Does anyone have a resource or links they are willing to share that has general negative terms they use before creating any new campaign? I have ones I have found, but wondering if there is a very good master resource out there. How many key phrases do you typically add to an 'Exact Match' ad group? Thank you!

Why is my now banned page considered a bridge page?
Google adwords have banned my adwords because my personal blog post is a "bridge" page http://firstconversion.com/the-pasty-shop-is-not-a-fast-food-chain/ Can anyone explain how this vanilla wordpress blog is a spam bridge page? They give me 3 options to rectify this, none of which make any sense To comply with our policies, the options below are available: Option 1: Refine your web page so that it contains a substantial amount of

original content. This content should be related to your ad text and
should stand independently of the links on your page that redirect users
to other sites. This includes any affiliate links on your site. In
addition, the site should have an overall unique look and feel. Examples of original content include, but are not limited to: Tips and information for consumers considering the product or service Competitor pricing and feature comparisons Unique and informative reviews and customer feedback Links to relevant articles This content shouldn't be derived directly from other sites or a parent
site. - the content is 100% unique, written by me Option 2: Redesign your web page to offer multiple, competing offers from
different companies for related services. For example, a web page
promoting a specific marketing strategy book could have links to four
online bookstores from which one could purchase the book. - theres nothign to do with services offfers, or competitions, or any type of monetization Option 3: Link directly to the end site, using the appropriate Display
URL. - there are no end sites Cheers Stephen1
