Blog Categories
-
My website is hosted by Hubspot. They provide a blog area and the option to categorize (tag) your blogs such as most popular, most recent, by year and month. On the blog "home page," they also list 10 complete articles scrolling down the page. I have about 150 blogs so there are about 15 of these long pages.
In my moz report, I have a list of pages with excessive links. They are, without exception, the pages with categories or the pages with 10 articles listed. In other words, they are pages that contain a lot of blog articles.
Questions:
Should I ignore these moz warnings?
Should I disallow these pages with robots.txt?
Are these category areas of a blog a bad Idea and should be removed?
Any other suggestions?Thanks,
Ron Carroll -
I don't know Hubspot that well because all my blogging experience is with Wordpress... I'd assume Hubspot may have a way in the backend similar to Wordpress to change the page layout to snippets instead of the full article (which should cut down on the long scroll, lessen dupe content issues & excessive links) and a way to change the amount of articles to show on one page. Hopefully someone with more Hubspot experience chimes in but while you're waiting I'd double check any layout options you have the ability to tweak to see if those could help you.

Noindex/nofollow on blog comments; is it good or bad ?
Hi, I changed the design of one my wordpress website at the beginning of the month. I also added a "facebook seo comments" plugin to rewrite facebook comments as normal comments. As most of the website comments are facebook comments, I went from 250 noindex/nofollow comments to 950; URL's are ?replytocom=4822 etc. Moz campaign noticed it and I'm asking myself : is it good to have comments in noindex/nofollow ? Should I do something about this ? Erwan.

Adding new categories to my website and getting them ranked
Hi, I currently run a website and have added a couple of new categories lately. The website is Planes Trains Automobiles Co UK. For example I want to add "Planes for sale" as a new category. What is the best way to go about this? Will each aircraft added add content therefore ranking? I don't want to approach an SEO company yet as the service would be free for the time being? Thanks

Is there a way to select multiple pre-existing keywords and assign a category to all of them?
I added a number of keywords and want to go back and categorize them. What is the easiest way to do this? I couldn't find a way to put a check mark on each of them and "apply category" so how can I do this?

How do I get a link in my blog bio signature on my Youmoz posts?
I've done several Youmoz posts and only recently noticed for some reason that other authors have included author links and links to their websites in their bio section at the end. I edited mine with a full URL but it only shows up as text. No editor there when you edit your profile so no way of adding a link. Anyone know how this is done?

Crawl went from a few errors to thousands when I added Blog
I am new here. I recently got the errors from SEOmoz crawl on my site down to just a handful from a couple hundred. So I took the leap and moved my blog to www.mysitename.com/blog (which I see recommended here) and now my errors are in the thousands. My blog which was a separate url has pages back to 2007. I am not sure if it is appropriate to post my site url in a question here? One error that really stands out is this: Description <dd>Using rel=canonical suggests to search engines which URL should be seen as canonical.</dd> On my root page I have: rel="canonical" href="http://www.mysitename.com"/> Thanks for any help...
