SERPs ans SEO

I am trying to analyze my site to determine what we may be doing wrong as far as our site goes Ilike everyone else I suppose). In any event I have followed as much as I can from the Moz guideline and tools. We were ranking very well for quite some time and now..kaput. We have tried to make our site faster (using Google Page Speed ..the CDM for GOOGLE). We have also tried redoing out title and description tags to be more search and user friendly. Our site is very fast now...which is good. But we are still not seeing the rankings improvements that we had hoped for. We have built the site using WP and broke the template to make what we feel is an attractive site....used what we feel are the best plugins to capitalize....can anyone give us some feedback to let us know if we are just missing something here. We are RELEVANT to our industry...

This is pretty hard to give a good answer to without knowing the site, but a significant sudden drop is usually not tied to smaller factors like page speed. Rather, they tend to be tied to low quality link building (penguin), low quality content (panda), over optimization penalties, or technical problems (look for noindex, robots.txt, nofollow, canonical issues).
I know it's a bit broad but without a specific URL, I'd start looking there.

It’s a very general question to ask without the specific URL/Domain you are talking about!
If you were ranking well but then dropped then there can be many possibilities and page load time is one of them!
Also, check your links and see if the links that are pointing to your website are of quality and relevant or else there is a huge possibility that the dip in traffic is because of the Google Panda/penguin update!
If you have good amount of duplicate content on your site and you are not using canonicalization to fix it, you will see your rankings will go down for your desired key phrases.
Like I said there are many possibilities so I would love if you can be either more specific with your questions or pass the URL!

Are the metrics in Moz's SERP analysis relevant in my area?
Our site (https://loco2.com/) specialises in train journey planning at ticket booking, so we want to improve our ranking when people search Google for a specific journey they want to make (eg "London to Barcelona by train"). We have a set of about 400 Guide pages (eg London to Barcelona) which we want people to find when they search for those journeys. I've been trying to find out why some of those pages do better than others in search, and what our competitors are doing better. I was hoping that the SERP analysis and Keyword Reports tool could help me with this, so I ran analyses for a set of the keyword phrases we want to rank for, but I was surprised to find that most of the metrics in both the basic and full reports don't seem to relate to how high in the search result a page ranks. The screengrab attached shows the results for "Brussels to Paris train", which are fairly typical - many of the top-ranking pages have fairly low scores for most metrics, and the metrics don't seem to have much effect on how high they are in the search results. ( I assume N/A means the Page Authority is very low, or is it not calculated for some other reason?) I looked into this a bit further by downloading full reports for 11 keyword searches, and comparing the average scores for each metric with the rank, but I still couldn't see any effects of the metrics on the ranks. If anything, pages with higher Page Authority and Domain Authority were further down in search rankings. Does this mean that link metrics aren't very important for the kinds of pages we're looking at? This makes sense to me, because if I'm searching for tickets from London to Barcelona I want to find a very specific results page which is unlikely to have many links, but I keep reading that link metrics are one of the most important factors in SEO. Thoughts on scraping SERPs and APIs
I'm perplexed about a couple of things. Google says that scraping keyword rankings is against their policy from what I've read. Bummer. We comprise a lot of reports and manual finding and entry was a pain. Enter Moz! We still manually check and compare, but it's nice having that tool. I'm confused now though about practices and getting SERPs in an automated way. Here are my questions Is it against policy to get SERPs from an automated method? If that is the case, isn't Moz breaking this policy with it's awesome keyword tracker? If it's not, and we wanted to grab that kind of data, how would we do it? Right now, Moz's API doesn't offer this data. I thought Raven Tools at one point offered this, but they don't now from what I've read. Are there any APIs out there that we can grab this data and do what we want with it? (let's day build our own dashboard)? Thanks for any clarification and input!

Which kind of backlink is best for SEO
After complete the jobs of keywords, it may worth to spend more time for building up more backlinks to enhance the SEO, so do you have any suggestion about which kind of backlink is best to build? as I know now, the backlinks are classified to be: 1. profile article, 2. book mark, 3. signature, 4. wiki article, 5. blog comment etc. I am very new for SEO, so it's welcome to give me any suggestion or comment for my opinion as above. How To Confidently Start SEOing?
Hi Guys, Im a Web developer (Front end and back end). Ive been learning SEO tips and tricks for the last 2 years but didn't have courage to apply them to any of my clients because of lack of confidence. I say lack of confidence because I never had a SEO Guru teaching me the "Proper" way to do SEO and see ranks change OR how to really take the first step when it comes to a SEO Project, so I didnt know how to even see if my work is paying off. Now I got this client who is a Vehicle Importer in Melbourne, and he imports cars from Japan. Im charging him $200/month for 12 months to improve SEO and cut down his competition and get his site on Google. But I have no idea where to start. His site has a blog setup already and its pretty good structure wise. I have done the On page optimizations and sitemaps etc etc, but not sure what to do next like to build links ?? or do off page optimizations, or do keyword research or really get the site on Google without any bull****?? Can you guys please please show me how to start a SEO project and how to actually use the new Moz to his best use? Thanks a lot for helping me. Regards

SEO Moz Bug? Universal Placements
Had a quick look around and can't find anything relating to this. We are doing really well with our universal placements, google places etc. SEOMoz used to recognise them, but now I have no universal placements according to SEOMoz, though they are clearly all still doing well. 302 (Temporary Redirect) & HTTPS - how to improve for SEO?
Hello, I have a crawl diagnostic warning that says 302 (temporary Redirect). My site is set up with HTTPS - is that the main reason I am getting this warning? I don't have a strong need for higher security SSL on my site, which is what I understand the main purpose of HTTPS to be so, to improve SEO, would I be better off getting rid of this and going with HTTP? Or would 301 redirects be a better option? Thanks for your help! Niall
