Why was my homepage kicked out from results, but not my internal pages?
-
My domain's homepage has been ranking 1st position for an specific term for about 8 months. Our domain got hacked and it took just one day to make the website right again. A week after our homepage didn't appear anymore in Google results, it isn't even indexed. However the rest of our internal pages keep being indexed and ranking as usual.
How can I make my homepage appear again in the results? Is there a way to speed up this process? Will it be in the same position as before, or will it have some sort of penalization for the hacking?

All your answers can be found in Google Webmaster Tools. Google is who removed your site and they have all the answers. You will definitely need to log into your Google WMT account to resolve this issue. https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/
Why was my homepage kicked out from results, but not my internal pages?
When Malware is detected, Google will take whatever action it deems necessary to protect their search results. If Malware was only detected on your home page, and the rest of your site is clean, then they may only remove the affected home page from the search results.
How can I make my homepage appear again in the results?
Step 1 - Ensure your page is free of malware
Step 2 - Log into Google WMT then navigate Dashboard > Diagnostics > Malware. Run the diagnostic to confirm Google sees your site as malware free. There are many cases where a site owner believes their site to be malware free, but Google still detects an issue. Use their tools.
Step 3 - One you have confirmed your site is fine then click "Request A Review". Google will then confirm your site is malware free and can remove any warnings they have placed on your site.
Step 4 - Once your site is cleared, you can then submit a Reconsideration Request. Expect the process to take a month. The last time I experienced an issue it took a solid 3 weeks. From what I have heard that is better then average.
Best of luck.

How do I prevent duplicate page title errors from being generated by my multiple shop pages?
Our e-commerce shop has numerous pages within the main shop page. Users navigate through the shop via typical pagination. So while there may be 6 pages of products it's all still under the main shop page. Moz keeps flagging my shop pages as having duplicate titles (ie shop page 2). But they're all the same page. Users aren't loading unique pages each time they go to the next page of products and they aren't pages I can edit. I'm not sure how to prevent this issue from popping up on my reports.

Page Speed or Size?
Hi everyone. I have a client who really wants to add a 1min html5 video to the background of their homepage. I have managed to reduce the size of the video to 20MB and I have tested the page in pingdom. The results are 1.85 s to load, and weighed in at 21.2 MB. My question is does Google factor page load speed or size in it's ranking factors? I am also mindful of the negative effect this could have on bounce rate. Thanks.

How Google sees my page
When looking for crawlability issues, what is the difference between using webmaster tools Fetch as google, looking at the cached pages in google index site:mypage.com, or using spider simulator tools.

Google instant results different to results shown when press enter
A client's site, www.duorol.co.uk is top (or second if a youtube video makes an appearance) for the term duorol if you press enter after typing it in to google UK. Before you press enter though, their site is not listed in the results bought back for instant search. It's the same behaviour in incognito mode too. Very weird I thought. Does anyone have any ideas please? Their site's only been live about a month. Could that be anything to do with it?

Redirecting over-optimised pages
Hi One of my clients websites was affected by Penguin and due to no 'bad link' messages, and nothing really obvious from the backlink profile, I put it down to over-optimisation on the site. I noticed a lot of spammy pages and duplicate content, and submitted recommendations to have these fixed. They dragged their heels for a while and eventually put in plans for a new site (which was happening anyway), but its taken quite a while and is only just going live in a couple of weeks. My question is, should I redirect the URLs of the previously over-optimised pages? Obviously the new pages are nice and clean and from what I can tell there are no bad links pointing to the URLs, so is this an acceptable practice? Will Google notice this and remove the penalty? Thanks
