How to increase number of internal links
-
Hi all,
Using Open Site Explorer and Moz, we're getting only 50 internal links and like to know why. Our site is an online store with a quite good DA (26, see attached files) comparing with competitors, and all pages are in sitemap since several months, and crawled by google.
Assuming that we have more than 2000 products in our site, and more of 10000 crawled pages with a link to the home page, we can't understand how "Total internal links" returns only 50.
How can we increase internal links? Perhaps we misunderstood the meaning of "Total internal links" in page metrics. What does this value exactly mean?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I do see for the root domain that there are 8500 links, and only about 400 of them are external. Do you perhaps have absolute internal links using non-www, but your campaign is using www?

That would be great. If you can provide an email address, I'll email you with the site details you may need

Just that a count of internal links. I don't think it is the most helpful stat.
Why it is not reporting all your links I don't know, but I can crawl your site for you using 6the Bing API and can tell you if you have a problem that's is blocking the links

Hi Alan,
Thanks for your help. Very useful article that helped me understand the flow of PR. However, I would also like to understand how MOZ and OSE figure out the figure for total internal links, and what does this figure exactly mean.

google will find them unless you have hidden them behind no-index, but the number of internal links is not important, what is important is your linking structure.

Spam links and Domain Authority
I have a site that I know was Domain Authority 35 but now Domain Authority 25 after someone sent a load of spam links to it, how can this be correct and how can I change it? Is it worth doing a disavow and will moz take that into account?

Internal Equity-Passing Links not getting crawled in Moz Open Site Explorer?
Internal Equity-Passing Links not getting crawled in Moz Open Site Explorer. What is the cause of this? We've checked the robots.txt and htaccess file, but so far we can't find anything that would be blocking Moz from crawling the internal links. We manage loads of other clients on this platform and this is the first time we've run into this issue. What else can I check?

Low Internal Equity-Passing Links: Open Ste Explorer Issue
Does anyone know why Open Site Explorer shows so few Internal Equity Passing Links? When a page is part of the main navigation of a website and the website has over 3500 pages indexed in Google with high DA's why would the Open Site Explorer number be so low? I have run scans on other tools and see a much larger number than OSE reports. Thoughts? Has anyone else ever experienced that?

Confused about the link metrics showing up in MOZ & OSE
For my campaign "itelligence Applications" which is for site itelligencegroup.com/uk/ - MOZ seems to be giving me different stats on links, depending on which tab I look it in the Link Analysis section. Then when I look at OSE, the numbers are totally different again, not just a little bit different. Example: In MOZ Link Analysis, on the "inbound links" tab, it says there are 129 Root Domains and 6832 Total External Inbound Links. If I then look at the Competitive Metrics screen, it says there are 46,284 external followed links and 240 total linking root domains. If I then go to OSE for the same site, it says there are 14 Root Domains and 686 total links. I have no idea why these numbers vary so much or how to even report them to my client. Am I missing something here? Any help would be gratefully received! Maureen

Why does facebook, twitter, pinterest show up for links?
Hello, As I have used site explorer on competition sites, I am curious what I need to do to have my facebook, twitter, and pinterest links to shop up as a backlink? I see some other sites have it, even if its a nofollow, but curious if I am doing something wrong? I have had accounts since last year. Just curious if I am doing something wrong, Thank you Chris

Does Open Site Explorer recognise nofollow links?
In the backlink profile for my site on OSE, I'm seeing a lot of links that are paid advetorials and I know go through DoubleClick. I was informed that links going through Doubleclick automatically become NoFollow links. If the above is true, should I ignore these links? If they are NoFollow, they don't really contribute to my backlink profile? THANKS!

How Is a Page Crawled by Moz When Moz Says 'No Links'?
As above, really. I've crawled a new client's site to find the Moz crawler has identified a handful of 404 errors. The Moz crawler says these pages have '0 linking domains', and OSE has no data for these pages. So how are these pages being crawled by Moz and what should I advise my client?
