How to Transfer Content from a Blog to Another

Hello Guys,

I have 2 blogs with content. One is getting alot of visitors and the other gets alot less.

I´m thinking in transferring all the content from the "weak" blog to the "strong" blog. Both websites are on wordpress.

My questions is pretty simple. How can I transfer this content without loosing traffic and how can I avoid duplicate content? Whats the best SEO practices?

Assuming both are on different servers or if you can do the transfer for the whole thing quickly:

1. Just copy the content over, including the meta details, images etc.

2. Put a 301 from the old page url to the new page url.

3. Update both sitemaps and refresh them in webmaster tools.

That's basically it.

There can be other tricky things like if you decide to 301 the whole domain or if you want to leave both content on.

Manually move the content and do a 301 permanent redirect of all the pages from blog A to blog B after. You should do 1-1 url mapping of all the pages from blog A to blog B which is tedious and time taking task. You will not loose traffic as well as the keyword positions. When it comes to duplicate content do a plagiarism check using copyscape.com or any other tools. It will give all the url's with duplicate content and how much % of content is copied. It helps in identifying the duplicate content.
