Hreflang Tags - error: 'en' - no return tags
-
Hello,
We have recently implemented Hreflang tags to improve the findability of our content in each specific language. However, Webmaster tool is giving us this error... Does anyone know what it means and how to solve it?
Here I attach a screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/a4AsqLNtF6J
Thanks for your help!

Strictly speaking - you are not using the correct url in the link.
Your code: => however this url doesn't exist but is 301 redirected to https://de.yourdomain.com/about-us
Could you try changing the url to small caps & test again with the hreflang tester flang.dejanseo.com.au (which is also indicating the same error as WMT)

Hi,
We checked your suggestion and we had in fact indicated both URL's in the tag:
See tag for this page EN version: http://screencast.com/t/kI7cYfPEzl4
See tag for the same page DE version: http://screencast.com/t/KNKQSAn7v
WebMasters tool error: http://screencast.com/t/wC1hxHxG3
We appreciate your help!
Cheers,

Href lang tags should be reciprocal: If page A links to page B, page B must link back to page A, otherwise the annotations may not be interpreted correctly (source: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/troubleshooting-hreflang-annotations-in.html)
Example: suppose http://www.example.com/es/myspanishpage.htm contains the spanish content & http://www.example.com/en/myenglishpage.htm the english version both url's should have the hreflang tags:
The error you get indicates that you tagged only one version & forgot to tag the other one.
You can check here if implementation is correct: http://flang.dejanseo.com.au/
Hope this helps.

Does anyone know the linking of hashtags on Wix sites does it negatively or postively impact SEO. It is coming up as an error in site crawls 'Pages with 404 errors' Anyone got any experience please?
Does anyone know the linking of hashtags on Wix sites does it negatively or positively impact SEO. It is coming up as an error in site crawls 'Pages with 404 errors' Anyone got any experience please? For example at the bottom of this blog post https://www.poppyandperle.com/post/face-painting-a-global-language the hashtags are linked, but they don't go to a page, they go to search results of all other blogs using that hashtag. Seems a bit of a strange approach to me.

No index tag robots.txt
Hi Mozzers, A client's website has a lot of internal directories defined as /node/*. I already added the rule 'Disallow: /node/*' to the robots.txt file to prevents bots from crawling these pages. However, the pages are already indexed and appear in the search results. In an article of Deepcrawl, they say you can simply add the rule 'Noindex: /node/*' to the robots.txt file, but other sources claim the only way is to add a noindex directive in the meta robots tag of every page. Can someone tell me which is the best way to prevent these pages from getting indexed? Small note: there are more than 100 pages. Thanks!

Hreflang tag implementation
Hi Mozzers, For an international client, we want to install hreflang tags for 3 different languages for their website in Belgium: dutch, french and english. The dutch version (nl-be) and the french version (fr-be) can perfectly be installed, but our developer has troubles implementing the english version (en-be). According to ISO 639-1 , "en-be" is apparently not supported. Unfortunately, we can't generalize the hreflang tags (), because our client has different websites in each country, so we need to specifically target Belgium here. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks,

What was the Google 'update' on 31st March?
Hi all. I looked back and saw that there was an update shown in 'Search Analytics' in Webmaster Tools a few weeks before the Mobile algorithm update. Not been able to find any mention of it and what it did so thought I'd check in here. ps. Also, this is a 90 day stretch and shows that our rankings have taken a hit since the mobile algorithm update. Interesting stuff (see image below) 4rJMU9e.jpg?1

Error: Missing Meta Description Tag on pages I can't find in order to correct
This seems silly, but I have errors on blog URLs in our WordPress site that I don't know how to access because they are not in our Dashboard. We are using All in One SEO. The errors are for blog archive dates, authors and just simply 'blog'. Here are samples: http://www.fateyes.com/2012/10/

Google Plus Places Error
We have a large amount of clients and when we are updating their Google Plus Places listing, the ad is still presented as active, however it is not live on Google and when you click to view the listing we get this message 'We currently do not support this location' I have researched this and found many people are having this issue, but no solutions as of yet. Can anyone shed some light on to this because some of our clients are not thrilled at the moment. Thanks Jon

How to properly remove 404 errors
Hi, According to seomoz report I have two 404 errors on my site. (http://screencast.com/t/2FG8fA1dvGB) I removed them from google webmasters central about 2 weeks ago (http://screencast.com/t/MQ8XBvrFm ) , but they're still showing as an error in the next report (weekly update). Is there anything else you do about 404 or just remove urls through gwc? Or maybe seomoz data is delayed? Thanks in advance, JJ

Img before or after h1 tag?
I like images to align right at top of content page. img tag before h1 tag looks better on page, but wondering if h1 tag before img tag is preferred by spider. Irrelevant? or possibly matters? thanks for any thoughts.
