Spam score is 7/17

My site has a spam score of 7/17 and I'm not really sure how this happened - I think maybe when I changed my domain from Wordpress to Bluehost? It's very hard to get my site to rank in Google and I'm getting very few hits through search engines, wondering if the spam score is why? How do I fix this? The flags are:
Low MozTrust or MozRank Score
The site link profile is not trustworthy.✓
Large Site with Few Links
We found very few sites linking to this site, considering its size.✓
Site Link Diversity is Low
The diversity of link sources to this subdomain is low.✓
Ratio of Followed to Nofollowed Subdomains
The ratio of followed to nofollowed subdomains linking to this subdomain is outside the normal range of others in our index.✓
Ratio of Followed to Nofollowed Domains
The ratio of followed to nofollowed domains linking to this subdomain is outside the normal range of others in our index.✓
Small Proportion of Branded Links
Links to this subdomain have low amounts of branded anchor text.Low Number of Pages Found
Crawl only gets a valid response to a small number of pages. What will this be doing to my site and how do I make this better?
Thanks!

Hi Cyrus,
That's really useful, thanks! I'm prepared to put in the time so I'll work on the external link building. I'm going through all my old posts at the moment and redoing and SEOing them. It's such a massive task! Hopefully it pays off in the end.
It's reassuring to know Google's not going to block me. I was kind of worried.
Cheers!

Hi Amelia,
Great question. It doesn't mean your site is spammy, it simply sounds like your link profile likely looks like a lot of sites we see that do happen to be spammy.
My guess is that in order to rank better, you may want to work on increasing your visibility by attracting more external links to your site. Does that sound reasonable? (Additionally, this would eliminate most of the spam flags)
It's a big task, but a few resources that may help:
- https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-link-building

Hope that helps!

Does a subdomain hurt/help a domain?
My organization's website currently hosts research databases on a subdomain. We're relatively new to MOZ and when I ran a crawl of my site, it came back with 30K issues.... 98% of which are on this subdomain. I wish I could just remove it and call it a day, however, real and active researchers use it regularly. My question is: Does a subdomain hurt/help a domain? I'm seeing mixed results via Google search and browsing this forum. I'm concerned that I will not be able to fix these 30K issues as I do have access to maintain this database... and just by looking at it you can tell it was built in 2005 and hasn't been updated from an SEO perspective since. Any suggestions?

Canonicalisation/ Moz/ WP.
Hi, I've recently put a new site live using Wordpress, and have hooked it up to Moz Analytics. Moz is reporting >1000 pages with 'missing meta description page', and >250 with 'duplicate page content'. The issues seem to be being flagged by pages with '?sort=asc&view=main', ?show=paged&view=main, '?sort=ratedup&show=all&view=list', etc. I have a number of category pages, which users can filter by etc to give them the information in the way they want to see it. I have this ' I haven't got many pages indexed by Google yet, so can't see if they're hitting the same issues as Moz. Any help/ advice appreciated.

Finding all search terms/keywords
Hi everyone! Is there a report I can run on SEOMoz that will show all of the search terms that people are using to find my site? I want to analyze where I am doing well and where I can use some work, but I'd like to have that as a starting point. Thanks in advance!

Update in Moz spider/tools?? Flagging duplicate content / ignoring canonical
Hi all, Has there been an update in the SEOmoz crawling software? We now have thousands of dupe content/page title warnings for paginated product page URLs that have correctly formatted canonicals. e.g. http://www.woolovers.com/british-wool/mens/tweed-green/wool-countryman-suede-patch-sweater.aspx ... has following pages with identical content that have been flagged: http://www.woolovers.com/british-wool/mens/olive-green/wool-countryman-suede-patch-sweater.aspx?p=true&rspage=4 http://www.woolovers.com/british-wool/mens/olive-green/wool-countryman-suede-patch-sweater.aspx?p=true&rspage=6 http://www.woolovers.com/british-wool/mens/olive-green/wool-countryman-suede-patch-sweater.aspx?p=true&rspage=4 ..plus 4 more URL's. But they all have canonical set. There's even a notice at the bottom of report that tells us there's a canonical set to http://www.woolovers.com/british-wool/mens/tweed-green/wool-countryman-suede-patch-sweater.aspx What gives, SEOmoz ?? Thanks Michael

Are header directives such as X-Robots and Link supported by OSE/Linkscape/SEOMoz tools?
SEOMoz tool reports show lots of duplicate content where there are http header directives in place on pages to eliminate dupes. Googlebot obeys but Roger the robot doesn't. Are header directives such as X-Robots and Link (rel=canonical) supported by OSE/Linkscape? I'd like to put my mind and clients at ease. Thanks

Question about difficulty score of keywords
I have a question regarding keyword selection and the difficulty score. I get the idea that you need to temper your desire to go after keyword phrases that generate lots of traffic with the reality of competition for that keyword, which is conveyed by the difficulty score. But how do we know when the difficulty score is too high? And isn't this relative to a website? If my website is in the top 1% of traffic, can't I go after more difficult keywords than if my traffic is in the top 10%? Are there guidelines or best practices to help with this decision? How do I know whether my website is "strong" enough to compete for a keyword that has a high difficulty score. If we already rank on page one of Google for numerous keywords with difficulty scores of 50 or so, is that an indicator that we can try to rank for other keywords with a difficulty score of 50? When do we know that we can start trying to rank for more diffcult keywords?
