“XXX Close” and “XXX Cl” showing up as inconsistencies of the same address in Moz Local checker
-
I was using the moz local check listing feature to check one of our clients whos addresses is “XXX Close” When i check listing in moz local i get 2 options of the site :
-
- with address “XXX Close”
-
- with address “XXX Cl”
If i click on the “XXX Close” version it shows me listing where the address is written as “XXX Cl” as being inconsistent and visa versa if i click on the “XXX Cl” version. (this happens as some sites reformat the text, ive submitted them all as “XXX Close”)
Is the something to be concerned about ? eg. could it effect rankings or does google understand that they are the same ?

Thanks @David Lee & @Matt Roney
I agree that the address should be the same across all services, but its not possible when an address has the word "Close" in it as some providers will shorten this in the listing to "Cl" (although you've inputted close when filling out the form) this is just the way they chose to format it. Have a look at any address with the word "Close" in it in the moz local tool.

Hello!
You will want to make sure there is only one version across all services hosting your listing. This will help Google and other search engines return a single result for consistency.
Hope this helps!

Validating Google+ on Moz Local
Hello, On Moz Local it is showing up an incorrect google listing for the business I work for. In my actual Google account there is only one Google listing and it is correct but this correct version doesn't appear on Moz Local. I have followed the criteria to meet your google listing so I am confused in what to do. Many thanks,

Moz Local for Physicians
I have a Moz Local campaign set up for a physicians clinic. MOZ has informed me that several duplicate listings for the office have been found. Some are listed using an old business name, some are listed using an old business name w/ physicians no longer practicing at the clinic. Most all have inconsistent data. The question is: Do I "ignore" or "close" these duplicate listings? Also, should I wait to clean up inconsistent data until MOZ has successfully "submitted and updated" the listings in the directories they submit to? When I search my local listing with Moz, why does it state that MOZ is unable to contact YP, Hotfrog, and Best of the Web? I will appreciate any guidance here:-)

Moz Local Duplicating Street Address
Hi, Whenever I done a lookup for a client we were hoping to get on Moz Local, the listing that appeared has a repeating street address. For Example 123 Some Street, 123 Some Street, Some City, Some ZIP Code I have checked Google Plus / Google My Business and no such repetition is there. If anyone has any input on the matter it would be greatly appreciated.

Local Search and Moz Local Question
I'm using Moz Local for a few clients right now with good results. Was talking to a friend about using it for one of her web clients and a new scenario came up. The client does waste management and has a dozen locations in/outside of a metro area. She's been "trying to get their listing on Google Maps" without luck. After some probing, it turns out their main address for operations is in the metro area they are targeting, but they don't have waste facilities there and wanted to prevent customers from coming there. They actually use a PO Box for their contact information on their website and make no mention of the main address. Looking to see if anyone agrees with my proposed solution: Claim Google My Business listing for the main address in the metro area they're trying to optimize for. Use Moz Local to clean up their main listing (after a quick check, it's a mess) for the operations address. Update website contact info to include the main operations address, and make specific mention of which other addresses customers should/shouldn't go to for dumping/picking up equipment. So, the recommendation would be one Moz Local account. I figure no need to do listing for all of their other locations since they're just waste facilities controlled by the main listing. Does this seem like a plan?
