Bounce Rate: Would GA consider a user interacting with a single page (i.e expanding text), before exiting a bounce?
-
Hey guys,
I have done a ton of research regarding bounce rates, yet I cannot seem to find the answer I'm after.
Senario:
BoIf a user follows a link and lands on a product results page with various sets of filters and an "apply" button, looks through the site, adjusts the filter functions (without changing the url structure) and exists without going to another page - would that qualify as a bounce in Google Analytics?
For example: If I click 'details' to see expandable text on a results page ( /credit-cards).
The dynamic url I'm talking about is below:

Glad to help!

Thank you very much for your answer Jake! It certainly helps me paint a clearer picture.

Hi Katherine,
If the user only visits a single page, this counts as a bounce. In order for it to not be a bounce, the user would have to browse to another page on your site, or take some action that loads a new page.
If you are looking to separate bounce rate from engagement, you should set events and goals based on various actions on the page (scroll %, clicking on a link/button that expands a field, etc.)
Cheers,
Jake

Google Index Issue - Indexing pages that don't exhist
Hi All, I have noticed a weird issue when performing a search on Google to show me all the pages it is indexing of our site. site:www.one2create.co.uk It brings up most of our website pages but then is also brings up a few HTTPS urls (our site has not been converted to HTTPS yet) but also the URL path, Title, and Meta Description are from one of our clients websites (an Automotive Job site). When clicked they take you to a generic 404 server error page, not our branded 404 page. The site that it has taken the url, title and meta description from is on a different server completely so I don't see how it has even managed to get that information and linked it to our site? Has anyone seen anything like this before? And what is the best way to fix it? We have asked Google to re-index the site but still no luck.

Location Pages
Hi. A client of mine offers multiple services and covers a region of the UK. They want to target each major town/city within this area. However, there are 20 cities and services offered range from 5-15 services. I am in the process of creating a location page for each city, so it can be optimised separately however I am not sure if there is a better way to do it? Or should I create a page for each city & service. So I for example I end up with 10 London pages with each one offering a different service? These can all be optimised for different services within London then? Any suggestions? Thanks

UK & Ireland Websites displaying same page differently in serps
Hi there, I have a Magento Enterprise store based in the UK and we have an Irish version which we created after finding an increasing amount of traffic from Ireland. One thing that I don't understand, is that if I search for one keyword on Google, the websites are displayed differently, when effectively they are identical websites. Here is how a result looks like for my UK store: http://i.imgur.com/NKSt4Qq.png And here is how a result looks like for my IE store: http://i.imgur.com/Cynv8Mz.png They both have the same Meta description, barring a few geographical words and terms. Both have on page descriptions as well as products. Yet the IE results display the description and the UK results display products and a tiny snippet of the description. Any ideas on how I can make my UK pages display like the IE one? Or, just why they are both displayed differently? Thanks

What is a Achievable SEO Growth Rate?
Hi Mozzers, I have a question for you today. What is the achievable SEO growth rate (non branded SEO) for a typical job portal style site if you are also taking into consideration there is a blog with a lot of useful content being produced on a daily basis? How has your SEO growth rate been? Is it normal to think that the non branded traffic can grow by 1000 visitors or more a day each month? if I hit 1000 visitors per day this month, then 2000 visitors per day next month, 3500 visitors per day the month after that and so on? I know it's difficult to give numbers like this. Assuming it's a 1000 visitor growth, that mean it's a 50% or more SEO growth each month. it will be interesting to know how your growth rate has been. Thank you.

Google Is Displaying An Alt image tag as my homepage's page title
Google is randomly displaying the alt image tag as the page title for my homepage. It happens when you search for the brand name, but the page title appears as "BrandName Logo" (obviously not "BrandName"). Has anybody seen this happen before?
