Crawl Issues / Partial Fetch Via Google
-
We recently launched a new site that doesn't have any ads, but in Webmaster Tools under "Fetch as Google" under the rendering of the page I see:
Googlebot couldn't get all resources for this page. Here's a list:
URL Type Reason Severity https://static.doubleclick.net/instream/ad_status.js Script Blocked Low robots.txt https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/id AJAX Blocked Low robots.txt Not sure where that would be coming from as we don't have any ads running on our site?
Also, it's stating the the fetch is a "partial" fetch.
Any insight is appreciated.

Thank you, that seems to have addressed that issue!
-
It's caused by having embedded YouTube videos. These YT ad scripts being blocked will also lead to a partial fetch.

How much of an issue is JS?
Hey folks, So, I got two pages. Page A has a lot more content but in a tabular format which uses javascript and a Title Tag which is a synonym for our keyword, but not the actual keyword. Page B has less content, and the title tag is the exact keyword phrase we want to rank for. Page A has a bigger backlink profile (though not enormous by any extent). Page A ranks in 30th. Page B ranks in 7th. Importance of Title tag? Importance of JS? Both? Discuss! Cheers, Rhys

Redirect 301 issue. I changed my domain name and Google is killing me.
Hello SEO community: I have this problem, and I don't know exactly what to do. I recently changed my domain from uclasificados.net to uclasificados.com uclasificados.net was a free classified ads for USA in spanish, and was my most affortable site, so I wanted to convert it to .com because I thought it could get more popular with the .com domain. uclasificados.com was before a free classified ads website for Colombia, but was not very popular and had poor traffic so I moved the Colombian content to uclasificados.co. Since I changed my domain from uclasificados.net to uclasificados.com I have lost a lot of ranking, and l my traffic every day is getting lower. I have already checked the 301 redirections and they are working correctly, but even thought I keep getting less traffic and less money. I have also checked with moz tools both sites link juice, and it says that uclasificados.net have better reputation. So I was wondering if I change it back and redirect uclasificados.com to uclasificados.net but I worrie that if I do that, maybe I can make things worse. What do you recommend me?

Duplicate content /index.php/ issues
I'm having some duplicate content issues with Google. I've already got my .htaccess file working just fine as far as I can tell. Rewriting works great, and by using the site you'd never end up on a page with /index.php. However I do notice that on ANY page of the site you could add /index.php and get the same page i.e.: www.mysite.com/category/article and www.mysite.com/index.php/category/article Would both return the same page. How can I 301 or something similar all /index.php pages to the non index.php version? I have no desire for any page on my site to have index.php in it, there is no use to it. Having quite the hard time figuring this out. Again this is basically just for the robots, the URL's the users see are perfect, never had an issue with that. Just SEOMOZ reporting duplicate content and I've verified that to be true.

Does http://my.dudamobile.com/ Effect SEO
Hi, Hope everyone is enjoying the new year! I was wondering if converting your desk top website to a mobile one, example via http://my.dudamobile.com/, has any negative effects on SEO. Did it effect your site? Do you recommend doing it? Does it effect links? When people link to your desk top URL does that authority carry to the mobile, or would it be better if they link to the mobile (m.website.com) URL? Is http://my.dudamobile.com/ a good choice? Any feedback, as always, is greatly appreciated! Thanks Jimmy

MSNbot Issues
We found msnbot is doing lots of request at same time to one URL, even considering we have caching, it triggers many requests at same time so caching does not help at the moment: For sure we can use mutex to make sure URL waits for cache to generate, but we are looking for solution for MSN boot. 123.253.27.53 [11/Dec/2012:14:15:10 -0600] "GET //Fun-Stuff HTTP/1.1" 200 0 "-" "msnbot/2.0b (+http://search.msn.com/msnbot.htm)" 1.253.27.53 [11/Dec/2012:14:15:10 -0600] "GET //Type-of-Resource/Fun-Stuff HTTP/1.1" 200 0 "-" "msnbot/2.0b (+http://search.msn.com/msnbot.htm)" 1.253.27.53 [11/Dec/2012:14:15:10 -0600] "GET /Browse//Fun-Stuff HTTP/1.1" 200 6708 "-" "msnbot/2.0b (+http://search.msn.com/msnbot.htm)" We found the following solution: http://www.bing.com/community/site_blogs/b/webmaster/archive/2009/08/10/crawl-delay-and-the-bing-crawler-msnbot.aspx Bing offers webmasters the ability to slow down the crawl rate to accommodate web server load issues. User-Agent: * Crawl-Delay: 10 Need to know if it’s safe to apply that. OR any other advices. PS: MSNBot gets so bad at times that it could trigger a DOS attack – alone! Crawl rate
Hello, In google WMT my site has the following message. <form class="form" action="/webmasters/tools/settings-ac?hl=en&siteUrl=http://www.prom-hairstyles.org/&siteUrl=http://www.prom-hairstyles.org/&hl=en" method="POST">Your site has been assigned special crawl rate settings. You will not be able to change the crawl rate. Why would this be?A bit of backgound - this site was hammered by Penguin or maybe panda but seems to be dragging itself back up (maybe) but has dropped from several thousand visitors/day to 100 or so.Cheers,Ian</form>
